Just takes a halfway decent family lawyer to serve a motion. Not even impossible to do self represented. The judge has formulas that look at tax returns to calculate income and what is owed. Very standard and predictable outcome once you know the incomes. You’re just asking the judge to crunch the numbers to set a monthly amount that’s usually garnished from a pay check.

That’s not been the case for me in Ontario. If you can show the court that there has been a big change in your situation, ie loss of a job because of COVID-19, was able to have support re-calculated. And I just got a new job that pays a bit less than my last, but I’ll be off EI, so will end up paying more next year.
