I’m all for halting people who think way too highly of themselves, Caitlyn Jenner being one of them (Doesn’t like same sex marriage despite being trans, thinks she’s beautiful and wants the world to tell her that, etc...) but the amount of passive hate and disrespect is astounding in this thread. Like, maybe it’s just me, but I don’t give a fuck that Caitlyn came from Bruce, I don’t give a fuck that she used to be a man, I give a shit that’s shes a massive cunt. Just because it’s an awful person…

Because the numbers in the post are skewed to the one year she took off to rally for her presidential campaign. Overall she’s barely missed any hearings but because that doesn’t fit the replier’s agenda they didn’t mention it.

First of all, politicians are salaried government employees so they don’t have strict hours to work. They are however, required to have a P.o. box of some kind for their consitituents to make contact (think of the number you call when you’d like to speak to your senator.) A member of congress’ job isn’t to vote on bills, especially when their vote doesn’t matter against the majority. Republicans did it in the 80’s and 90’s when democrats had majority, and now the democrats are doing it since the…

And what of teachers? Are teachers required to go to every single faculty and staff meeting? Should we dock them every time they miss one, even if it doesn’t pertain to them, or even if it won’t change because of their absence? A teachers’ job is to teach, not to attend meetings — and a politicians’ job is to advocate for their constituents. If they can do that while campaigning, while on sick leave, or in the hospital, then they’re doing their jobs. It’s not unheard of for politicians to miss h…

I don’t know what type of job you have, but at my fast food part time job as a college student i won’t have mine docked for using a sick day for a literal medical emergency. Not only that, many candidates cast their vote beforehand so in the event of their absence (emergency or not) their constituents are still represented. Why should a government official be treated worse than his constituents? Aren’t we all equal? If they’re fighting for our voices then why do we wish them harm.

THIS. Screaming at politicians for being absent is just asking for more people with no knowledge of politics to run for president because they aren’t needed in DC and are able to campaign.

She missed votes because she’s too busy out campaigning. It’s normal and has been happening since the 90’s. How is she going to run for president if she isn’t allowed to leave Washington DC? Drumpf and Mo Bamba left DC for MULTIPLE campaigns. I’m all for flaming the fuck out of elected officials, but hot damn, put it into perspective. There’s also people like Sanders who was in the hospital, should he have his paycheck docked as well because of a medical emergency?

Good luck to you and don’t be afraid to talk about your experience, abuse is abuse and it can leave trauma.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
