I beg to differ and think it might have more to do with the specific social groups you're involved with more than anything. I definitely saw a bit more of that sort of attitude from the club scene than elsewhere, which is a microcosm of the scope of social groups that exist. Maybe try to expand your social horizons?

Younger women care more about looks, sure, but the looks most women tend to prefer lean towards middle-aged men. I've gotten more attention from women of all ages the older I've gotten. Some of that has to do with maturity/confidence, but a lot also has to do with looks. I'm not as fit as I was when I was younger, but I'm generally bigger (fatter) and more "gruff", which seems to be a major turn-on for a lot of women.
