I thought about this months ago and I’ve been going at it since then. No sex or dating and I’m doing great. It feels like a huge weight off my shoulders.

I had a friend tell me about this guy she was talking to that she met on OLD. She's a doctor who is only interested in dating other medical professionals. The guy is a doctor too. She told me that she didn't feel like getting all dressed up, so she suggested something more casual like Panera. He told her that Panera is too expensive. He wasn't the only cheap doctor she's met either. This one just stood out the most because he's pretty much telling her "You're not good enough to take to Panera." …

I got into a heated argument with my boyfriend at the time over some directions. He just wouldn’t listen to me at all and I was frustrated. Our arguing stopped once I was proven right and he said “Sorry. I’m dumb.” I told him, “That’s the smartest thing you’ve said all day.” His two friends in the backseat were laughing lol

Before I made an account on Reddit, I was lurking in the Gender Critical sub and saw it mentioned somewhere by a user. I was curious, so I checked it out. I was in desperate need of some good advice, as nothing I was doing was working for me. I read all of the required readings and lurked for a while to get a feel for the culture. Meanwhile, I started applying FDS to my life by blocking my ex who I remained friends with, but he was dragging me down and I just needed that extra push to kick him o…

I was 19 and he was 26 when we met, but even then he wasn't taking me on cheap dates like that. During the relationship, I noticed he was spending a lot of money on his car, which he would get bored and trade-in for a different one after a while. I guess his finances right now must be pretty bad if a food court date for Valentine's Day was the best he could do. For her sake, I hope she was just being polite and will block his number and ghost him when she gets home. The situation was all so biza…

I was in a similar situation before. I told him that I was worried about privacy and explained how easy it is for someone to access his photos. He wasn’t very tech savvy like I am, but I explained my concerns enough until he seemed understanding. He did complain about it at first and I just told him that if he cares about me, he’ll delete them. He deleted them and he let me check to be sure. I never again will send another nude. My face wasn’t in any of them, but the thought of those pictures go…

I’m half white and half Hispanic. I take after my white mother more, but I’m a few tones darker than her with some of my father’s features. I hate it when men call my looks “exotic”. It makes me feel like some jungle creature. When I tell men who are also mixed or just more normal, they find it interesting and ask how my parents met and don’t make a big deal out of it. On the other hand, I’ve had guys make a huge deal over it, praising my looks and they bash white women, as if I’m supposed to be…

It’s rough at first after leaving someone. I’m your age and leaving my controlling boyfriend was rough on me too. I felt like I destroyed what we built together and while he had flaws, I still cared about him enough to stay in contact with him. That was a mistake. I learned that it’s better for you to walk away and don’t look back. I felt comfortable around him and I was afraid that I wouldn’t feel like that with anyone else again. Men suck and it’s very hard to find good ones, but you still hav…

I wear my fake ring nearly every day! I have a friend who does it too. It certainly does make a difference when it comes to men approaching us. I have gotten a few who may have not seen the ring when they decided to approach, so I just showed it to them and told them I was taken. They backed off right away. I do feel much safer wearing it too. I’m not dating right now so it’s been a great man repellent when I go out and don’t want to be bothered.

The lonely crazy cat lady thing isn’t true at all. I own 2 cats I rescued myself and I have a tattoo of a cat. I still have so many men interested in me even knowing that. I wouldn’t date someone who doesn’t like animals. I’ve only been called a crazy cat lady by my jealous pickme friends and some neckbeards in my circle in the past. They’re just trying to bring you down.

A bit over a month. I took a break from dating to focus on school and to take care of some personal things. I don’t feel like I’m missing out on much. lol

This is so true. During my first LTR I had severe anxiety issues and my doctor put me on an antidepressant and Xanax. I finally came to my senses and dumped his ass. I had been on the benzodiazepines the whole time and it was very long and difficult to taper down, since it’s common to form a physical dependency on that class of drug and going cold turkey is dangerous. I’m not on medications anymore and I’m happy being single. If your mental health is suffering because of a man, DUMP HIM. Don’t b…

Wow. All these years I thought I was the only one who does this! I’ve been this way my whole life. It was so annoying in grade school because everyone always pointed it out. Focus on relaxing the muscles on your face around your mouth. I do deep breathing exercises through my nose only. Try practicing in the mirror to relax your face as you talk, then once you feel comfortable, try doing it with someone present, like a friend. If you need to stop your uncontrollable smile right away, furrow your…

I forgot to list the books I found helpful. The Gift of Fear, Why Does He Do That, and The Tao of Dating are great reads. The key is to learn about male behavior for YOUR benefit, not for theirs. I used to look up to men for their successes and I neglected to see the successes of women. Women lift each other up while I notice men are working on lifting themselves up while putting women down. Then when women lift themselves up, the men go full throttle to put them down and women who feel the need…

My mom and almost every woman in my family is a pickmeisha. My aunt on my dad’s side is the only one who stands up for herself around men and everyone treats her like she’s an uptight and selfish person for having high standards. I think her decision to be child free also plays a part in how they treat her too. It’s so backwards. I bet they’re all intimidated by her. Of course, even the delusional pickme has a short lived moment of reflection and sees that they made some poor choices at their ow…

One thing all the porn addicts I’ve known had in common was the way they looked at women in public. When I’m with them, they’re looking at every woman (and sometimes young girls) and they’re sometimes vocal about if they would have sex with her or not and share details about why they would. HVM don’t look at other women when you’re with them and they treat women like actual human beings and not like an object to stick their dick in. They also get very touchy too fast. This is the reason why I wo…

I would have told my 19 year old self to focus more on school. I was very active with friends, I worked part time and I was in great physical shape. When I was 19, I wasn’t completely sure what degree I wanted. I really didn’t have any direction from anyone and felt lost a lot of times. I was dating, but even then, school was a higher priority. Also, I was a lot more nervous around guys and my self esteem wasn’t the greatest. I was being too polite to weirdos when I really should’ve told them to…

Exactly! I felt so dumb for not realizing that sooner, but I have forgiven myself and moved on. Life is better without all the dead weight.

I’m against it. I stayed friends with my ex after I broke it up and he was a horrible friend. He would get jealous if I spent time with other guys and he would only hit me up when he was bored or horny. He was pushing me to be a fwb and I had to block him because it was draining on my mind. It’s not worth keeping exes around. Also, I didn’t realize until after I blocked him that keeping him in my life was making it harder to move forward.

I’m sorry you’re going through this. I’ve been in a similar situation before so I understand how hard it is. I recommend blocking and deleting your ex and the ex-fwb guy. It’s so much easier to move forward and heal without them being able to contact you. I know it can be tough to let go of people you consider friends, but you need to put yourself as your top priority.

It takes a special type of loser to not only end up hospitalized from porn, but to make a whole post about it on social media. Imagine being this guy's mom. *barf*

He throws a lot of shade on my older brother for dropping out of college. My grandpa is very conservative and criticizes Millenials a lot. We don't see eye to eye on everything, but we can both agree that many of the men in my generation are lazy manchildren. Heck, even I've noticed older men who should have their shit together in their 50s aren't that different from them. My mom's boyfriend is 56 and has the emotional maturity of a toddler. It's pathetic.

My grandparents just arrived in town for Thanksgiving and my grandma teasingly asked me where’s my husband. Without missing a beat, my grandpa said “There’s no men for her to marry. They don’t work hard anymore and they act like spoiled brats.” I love my grandpa lol I’m really not sure why my generation’s men are so entitled and lazy. Their egos are frightening and are sometimes enough for me to consider them a narcissist. Not even the gray rock method works for some of them. All I need is one r…

I was tired of their bullshit excuses when I was 18. I thought it would get better, but I’m 25 now and I still have to deal with men at work and college that make excuses to invade my personal space and boundaries. I hear inappropriate jokes and comments from them all the time. The men who say they’re better than them for not acting that way don’t even attempt to call out those behaviors. They’re no better for just letting it happen. I’ve called one out for doing nothing and surprise surprise, h…

I used to have several male friends in high school and years later into adulthood. It never works out as a true friendship because they all were interested in me romantically and sexually. After I broke off my LTR and they found out about it, they were offering to have me come over to their place or go out to drink with them and said they’ll be my shoulder to cry on. I felt uncomfortable with doing that and I just felt like I needed time alone. Two of them didn’t take my rejection well. One of t…

I used to have several male friends until they showed their intentions whenever a guy I was seeing didn't work out. They were always so eager to have me come over or go get drinks with them after a date didn't work out. I went with my gut and didn't see them. I dodged a bullet with one of them who sent me a ton of sexually frustrated drunk texts to me at 2am. My only truly platonic friendship I ever had with a guy was with a gay man. lol

Nature photography, gym, painting, hiking, strategy games, cake decorating, and I go diving when the waters are warm. I have made tons of friends through my hobbies. My hobbies keep my mind busy and my body fit, so I feel great being able to do them. I was heartbroken after I left my ex, but my friends and my hobbies really helped me get over him.

I totally agree. When I play WoW I don’t tell other players my gender. I notice they show a lot more respect to me when they just assume I’m another guy. I was in a guild that knew I was a woman because of voice chat and I was treated like I’m incompetent. I have met much better men with my other hobbies. I have yet to meet a guy who doesn’t like video games, so I’m still meeting men with my gaming interests even without it in my bio. They’re a lot more sane and less deprived than the gaming cro…

I attract a lot of nerdy types since I play video games. I really thought they would be much more wholesome, but from my experience, they're the opposite. They're very self-centered, have poor social skills and low value. They have no real passions outside of gaming and they put in a lot less effort than other guys. I get the feeling many have a chip on their shoulder because they seem to have a long rant ready for me when I reject them. They think I'm the one with problems. lol I stopped wearin…

What I've done is just stopped caring about men in general. I kicked my male friends who made comments on my appearance out of my life. I only hang out with my female friends and they never put me down. I spend more time pampering myself and taking care of my mental health, my body and doing what I like. There's nothing selfish about putting yourself first. I used to put everyone before myself and that was a huge mistake. I learned that I can forgive myself for past mistakes and that if I can be…
