Agreed. Greene had a really great Joe Rogan interview and I believe a James Altucher Show interview as well that are worth a listen on a commute. Greene does a ridiculous amount of research before he writes a book.

Why not pull an Abe and befriend the guy. Not suck up to him but just absorb what he has to teach indirectly. You sound like you want a quick witty one line to decimate him and then you will take the throne. Not gonna happen. Learn from him and use it in a totally different social circle.

Low risk - dollar cost average 5% of your income into the VFINX mutual fund, if your company offers matching 401k contributions put in exactly what they match to. High risk- cryptocurrencies. I suggest ethereum and waltoncoin (but I am a supply chain guy) Certain tech stocks you have researched could be okay once you have done your low risk first and have a few k each in savings and emergency funds. Always invest in what you know.

It's definitely anglo, american even. When I was in China you'd hear about 35 year olds living with their 60 year old parents and 80 something year old grandparents. It saved money. Indians will still do the same thing even living in the states. It just seemed obvious that your property is where you stay and your family is a whole unit. We did this during the great depression as well. I think it might be a recent thing w/ the whole housing boom that tanked everything. "White picket fence 2.5 kid…

An important part of TRP is accountability /u/gt514ad, we laid out some solid advice for you. Can you confirm we're good to keep you accountable? I think 2-3 months from now you should have a job and a week from now you should make a resume. We're rootin for you bud,

Agreed on getting a job really early as one of the best things you can do. Even if your parents provide you just about anything you request, and you fear they will now say "you have a job, buy it yourself" still get a job! Making your own money has powerful psychological effects that will stimulate your self development in ways you quite literally cant imagine. It will increase your confidence, dominance, and bring you that much closer to getting a car, the first piece of property you will truly…

sounds kind of like a dumb risk. couldnt anyone else in IT see what programs different users have installed?
/r/askTRP06/06/17 10:13 PM
9

Come on man how is someone going to anonymously send screenshots of a program installed to monitor use. It will be obvious where the screenshots came from. He needs to get his IT buddy to do this, as that was ostensibly the purpose of installing the software, assuming he didnt go rogue and install monitoring software without any approval. If his buddy installed without approval he could get him in a load of trouble.

I've picked at Amazon for a while, and I remember getting one book that was literally written for autistics on how to behave properly. The book in a nutshell could have been called "Be Beta", but one point that stuck out sorely at me was on why having an erection is not a "public" topic, and how every time you have one you need to hide it. its a terrible fucking idea. Violence to a child does not help communicate a point, it only sullies it. Any useful growth and learning that could come from amistake is completely overridden for the child by the terror of being attacked by someone they love. Its a surefire way to destroy trust and increase evasive/deceptive behavior. Dr. Oz's wife believes in reiki. She won't let him vaccinate his children. This is a woman from a prestigious medical school. Regardless of age, there are few women who seriously give merit to the political and philosophical problems of the world, who would prioritise reason over "having a good time." Yeah, and one sad thing about prettiness is how it can get you so involved in your ego you forgo other pursuits. If you consistently place value most highly on looks, (for me its like 80-85% as I get a lot of value from girls willing to explore fetishes) and derive your internal ability to succeed with girls based on not-pedestalising due to realizing you do awesome things and she doesn't, aren't you only setting yourself up to be with hot girls who do non-awesome things? Part of TRP theory is ostensibly irrational confidence, and you're preaching rational confidence. Seems like making a habit of rationali…

Sometimes I'll even hold my younger son to be sure the older gets a good hit in. That's where it went south for me. Nothing wrong with a little sibling rivalry, I suppose, but there's a difference between spurring him to take that reactive defensive action himself and being an active participant. I just get an image of your younger, stoic, psychologically dominant son staring his older brother in the eyes: "It's cute you have to have daddy hold me. Wait till he's not around."

I didnt like this article. I knew a native american guy from church once who was transgendered. He had a retreat at his house and taught me to start a fire. I dont like the idea that dating him would be scraping the bottom of the bowl, and I dont like the idea that avoiding rude comments about him puts me in the same camp as those who want me to pay child support to the woman who cuckoo'd me and/or label my tabula rasa state a "potential rapist"

I'm sorry but I can't for a second excuse a woman making a false rape accusation because she's "truly confused" about what she did, they're smarter than that. Even if she is actually ignorant enough to think that her opinion has anything to do with whether or not she was raped, a 2 minute google search should easily clear up any of her misconceptions and be the baseline amount of research her conscience/common decency should push her to do before taking such a serious step.

Telling your buddy's dog to sit before you give it a treat doesn't mean it has a new master. It means you had some fun. If it gets weird, you terminate it. As long as you're the one calling the shots, there's no risk: if you're worried about her leaving you anyway, it's probably already too late.

It really did man, kind of a slap in the face of Ronnie Rationalization, my whiny alter ego. Last night I had a beautiful girl over to my house who cooked me dinner and we had a couple beers. I had a little bit of good kino, but she was bringing up how she had to leave shortly, and I never went for the kiss. Ronnie Rationalizion: "your apartment is filthy man, she's grossed out by the cockroach" "She just cooked you a big meal, that's enough for this time!" "She's probably getting tired, you bot…

You know, I'm getting through Virtue of Selfishness, a Rand book like the above poster mentioned he liked to read, and she specifically mentions that play as being the worst one ever written. Funny how people from different philosophical backgrounds can come together to chat about this stuff.

Yeah, I read Sex at Dawn and had a good talk about it with the last gf, and got all excited about the free love idea, because I don't do much "mate guarding", but taking the red pill has shown me that, due to the massive serotonin release girls get from sex, I'm probably going to have to start guarding them if I want to ensure future sexual access.

I'm in a similar boat. If anything you should see your game as excellent and the extra times they call you as bonus freebies. "Hey Scuba_Comet I'm horny come over and please me" Oh jeez! Why didn't she call back sooner!?

Out of curiosity why is the marriage itself so important? Why not just wait until it's time to get married, then bring up the agreement. If she says no, you walk then and there. This way you get as much time as possible having sex: the only reason you wouldn't do this is if you were specifically looking for marriage.

Yeah, it sounds like what the guy is saying is that he's willing to take the emotional risk but not the financial risk. That's reasonable.

Marriage material as in I wouldn't adhere to womans standards or that they wouldn't be interested? I'm pretty young so I'm actually just glad I found this sub to validate some of my own thoughts on marriage as an institution in the US and the Western countries, but where I live the law is much better for men. There are multiple women here who would be very happy with marriage here, but for me I like the idea of having a few different pretty girls, maybe something polyamorous. I still do have a p…

Maybe, but I'd like to see some data. Maybe I'm an outlier, but I really don't care if she's had a lot of sex or not. I'm not getting married, so I don't care about infidelity or caring for children

In summary; look good, have strong allies, seem like you can provide. You might enjoy Sex at Dawn, it talks about bonobo and chimp differences, and how humans are more close to the bonobos. It also makes a strong case for having multiple partners being natural for men, and explains female hypergamy.

Nobody thinks he didn't take his cats warning seriously. He knew what he was getting into, and was testing her, the interaction with a crazy person doesn't have to be him hovering looking for a place to penetrate her crazy shield, it can also be like watching a weird animal in a zoo, kind of sorry that the cage it's trapped in is one it built for itself.

I'm curious about your girlfriends: do they fulfill any needs for you other than the sex? Do you respect them less because they are having sex with you instead of finding a husband to provide for them, or do you think they believe marriage is bad for them too? Are they career woman who need an alpha in their lives, or just traditionally feminine ones whom you're saying no to for marriage even if they want it?

I was studying abroad and had a LTR of like 2.5 years going on when I read Sex at Dawn, and that completely persuaded me that polyamory was going to be something I wanted to do, because the idea of having a harem of girls was wonderful. The point about getting tired of your significant other in the book was very real to me because I couldn't even have sex with this girl without doing a bunch of BDSM stuff, and I just wasn't sexually interested in her any more: she seemed kind of needy. I sold it…

For me it takes about 4 days, and then, bang, days 5 and 6 I've just absolutely got more drive, am cold-calling chicks I met on the subway, rock climbing and lifting more, having dinner dates at my place () and am just slightly more "me" in every way.

So are we purposely ignoring the part where he talks about the awesome sex and BDSM play later on? Or should we just see that as a flat out lie to make himself feel better because it doesn't fit into our lens of him as a big pussy who doesn't get any sex?

Okay, there is enough of an interest here in this forum that we need to find a spot to get this stuff, and maybe find a way to get a discount for fellow RP'ers. OP, how much government bullshit do I have to go through if I want to see the world in color, improve my confidence, and add some muscle mass like you did? Can you just buy this shit off amazon? As a long time subscriber to r/objectivism, and someone introduced to the philosophy by one of the most intelligent, alpha, and selfish men I've met, I'd like to add a quick excerpt from Virtue of Selfishness for any casual observers: The three cardinal values of the Objectivist ethics—the three values which, together, are the means to and the realization of one’s ultimate value, one’s own life—are: Reason, Purpose, Self‐Esteem, with their three corresponding virtues: Rationality, Productiveness…

Fair, let's take it a step further then. We talk about them being or not being RP, but we haven't really thrown down some objective characteristics for that definition, characteristics that we could see from their lifestyles without having to interview or deeply know them. What would you say makes someone RP?

I don't think it's so much the cheating as the fact that the other guy is spending a lot of money on the girl, thinking this is the "right" thing to do as a guy, use the resources he's acquired to please the girl.

I completely agree. Marriage is a false institution anyway in my eyes. Do note that your graph defines stable marriage as being together for 5 years. I don't think time is the only factor for a healthy marriage. Imagine a guy who, a few years after his marriage, has a wife who balloons up, abuses his credit cards, doesn't contribute etc. I have more respect for a guy who decides to end it than passively accept his situation. Of course I'd have more respect for him if he kept that kind of crap fr…

She also encourages young people to take breaks from "hooking up," find quiet time to talk to friends about intimacy and go out on real dates She's encouraging people to accept what she wants them to believe is traditional dating is better. It is probably a lot better for the girls.

That makes it sound like staying together is always good. I'd wager a lot of times the two break up it's because one of them has enough experience to know "what they want" and the courage to end the relationship to seek something more worthwhile, rather than languishing in mediocrity and pretending you're in love.

That's really interesting, "that's the way it works for me". I had finished the book Sex at Dawn, the primitive origin of modern sexuality (which I'd like to recommend, it makes the case humans are naturally polyamorous) one time I was abroad in asia, and I used a lot of its arguments as reasons to start seeing other people even though my current GF and I had a long-distance thing going on (I was considering marriage). I had to chew on the thought of her seeing other guys for a while (me being p…
