In Alabama (the state we reside currently) I am pretty sure that medical debt is one of the only things I am not technically on the hook for but I will definitely be talking to my lawyer just in case

I’m literally living in this current loop. 7 years together and 5 years married and I found my STBXW commuting adultery through researching after she put divorce papers in stating I took all the money and ran……the funny part is she has been taking all the money and running around with it for years until we had extreme debt which I am in the process of finally turning around and I closed a joint account in the negative to finally have financial stability again during this divorce. After about 20 …

I have JAG which provides some guidance but they can’t act as my attorney in any cases

Luckily it’s been about a week tops. Residency for my state is 6 months and a day so we more than have that. How would I go about finding if my divorce specifically has been filed for? I didn’t even realize that was an option to find.

Thank you for the advice. And trust me when I say, I definitely won’t marry again after this. I just want my kid and I want to be able to rebuild myself and find who I am after spending so much time feeling like I have reinvented myself constantly to maintain a soon to be failed marriage.

I was talking with the military legal help and was initially informed to try reconciliation and then in the nearly month since I am now working on lawyering up. I’m hoping I can drop the first file but I may be too behind for that. Both of our vehicles are in our names unfortunately. I have begun recording all phone calls with an external device but again I’m behind the ball on that as well unfortunately

I have come to grips with I’m getting divorced and have no problems with finally leaving a cheater. I’m more so worried about losing time with my son and having any potential to pay money to a cheater when I was faithful and sole provider to our child. After 5 years of marriage and 7 years of being together I’m basically over the feeling downtrodden and sorry for myself for being an idiot. I just want to find a way to win a nearly always uphill fathers rights battle for my son

I was the sap who figured when she literally begged on her knees for me to not leave and that she was willing to do anything to prove that it was a one time thing that it meant one time only. Only now unfortunately I have realized that I carried myself as a good husband and father only to end up in a messy divorce proceeding that is coming with virtually no way of understanding how insanely difficult this process might be

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
