I have done it more than a few times. The last time was after I owned my home, and the neighbor also owned his. That one was a mistake, because we were both stuck and it was pretty awkward. The dude literally once sent me a text that said “whose car is that in your driveway? I bet you’re fucking him too, huh?” (I responded with “just some guy, and yes.”) All the other ones were fine though. So my thoughts are, if you’re renting it’s fine because you’re both going to eventually move.
