Am I the only one that thinks the best proposal is a mutual discussion? I don't need any sort of gesture, just to be asked respectfully and we decide together.

Never thought about it that way. So you see it as them giving you little bite sized examples so you don't actually have to go look yourself? Makes sense

A few people have recommended me doing that. Definitely will be joining! Thanks :)

I could have been clearer. But I 100% support posts by women explaining some behavior they have experienced. Because that is their story, and it helps us recognise what to watch out for and we can be there to help each other. What I don't like seeing is reposts of things that Men have said, where they are sexist and disgusting. Like we've just shared a gross post in a female only space to a bunch of women that might not have encountered it otherwise... Like we all know abusive toxic men exist. O…

I definitely agree all women need a good understanding of the men out there that could harm us. But I've had a lifetime of personal encounters with depraved men. I feel like most women have. I don't think its likely any of us are unaware of the assholes that exist out there, especially on the internet. Regardless, what I was saying was more with regards to reposting things that Men have said. I think that is a different kind of content than hearing a cautionary tale directly from a woman. Like w…

Its completely dependant on the person. My partner and I both game occasionally. Maybe a couple nights a week. And I've never had an issue with him prioritizing games over anything else. Its purely a hobbie for when we've both got some down time. Its the guys that have to play for hours every day you need to worry about.

Its almost narcissistic. These guys have such a high opinion of themselves and believe they have such a winning personality that you'll instantly fall inlove with them and won't even care about the height. And if you do bring it up that they lied, they'll just acuse you of being shallow. So either way, its not wrong for them to lie. Because the height shouldn't matter and if it does, you're just a bitch. Same thing with lying about how much they make. Its okay to lie to get a foot in the door, b…

Sorry to sound salty but is this really FDS content? 😂

That's a really good point. When your parents give you the "talk" its mostly about being safe and about consent. But no one ever explained to me how important it is to actually feel pleasure. And with the way sex was represented in media I feel like the message for women was always to BE sexy in bed, and never about actually feeling good. I only learned this in my early twenties when me and my friends all started being open with eachother about sex. I would have loved to know this before getting…

If he is a HVM he will do this anyways. I reckon if this is something you find yourself having to explain to someone then he's already a waste of time

I think a good way to test this out is if you guys plan a trip or an outdoor activity. My bf and I are constantly having to pack for the outdoors and I am really forgetful. There has been many times we get to the campsite and I realize I forgot to pack my toothbrush or my flip flops only to see that he already thought of it and packed it for me. I think any decent person will be making sure that you both have everything you need and not just think of themselves.

Yup. An ex of mine just wouldn't stop trying to contact me after I broke up with him. I asked him twice to please leave me alone and that i wanted no contact before I blocked him. He then blew up my insta on all my posts, leaving comments for everyone to see about how he missed me. I blocked him there. He was messaging me on facebook, which i deactivated. Then the guy found my email address on linked in and started emailing me. After I blocked him on everything I didn't hear from him from a few …

Definitely not in the early stages... But I think after a few months of dating a climbing date could be a great way to vet a guy. How does he respond when you are scared? Is he encouraging or annoyed? Does he encourage you to climb hard things, or assume you are weak and try to put you on easy things? Does he try to give you beta (the technique for the climb) even though you didn't ask for any? Does he get happy for you when you can climb harder than he can? I vet all new guys that try to join o…

Haha I may be the person recommending climbing to people! Its where I met all my best friends as well as my HVM boyfriend. My bf is literally built like a greek god, but at the same time he'll sit watching animated movies with me and singing disney songs with zero shame. In my experience climbers are a down to earth group of people. Obviously there's no rule to this (there are assholes in all corners of the earth) but becoming a climber literally changed my life. There's a very special bond you …

Appreciate your body. I was always too scared to go to the beach or wear shorts in public. I cared way too much what people thought about me and my appearance and it really stopped me from having so much fun. Cellulite is normal, its okay if you haven't shaved, its okay if you've put on weight from when you were a literal teenager. Your body does a million amazing things for you every day, so try practice showing gratitude for all those things rather than criticizing your appeareance. I told mys…

Yes and no from me. In my teenage years and very early twenties this was definitely my experience. But my bf and I have a very tight knit friend group that are equal parts girls and guys. And most of our friends are single and have never dated or tried to date eachother. We get together every weekend for dinners and board games and I truly feel like its a platonic thing. I actually think its super important for boys to grow up with female friends and vice versa. We have a lot of really good disc…

My bf doesn't watch porn. I was a huge pickme before we started dating and only discovered feminism in the first few months after we got together. When we first started seeing eachother I brought it up and he seemed really surprised I was okay with porn because he didn't really like it. He said he watched it every now and then but didn't like most of the stuff he found and would usually just take care of himself without it. After we started dating he said he hasn't watched it since. We live in a…

https://youtu.be/mWqVJZMh6-w You'll love this video essay on The Last Jedi. Its all about how it defies expectations about male leads and what a strong male lead should actually look like.

Haha your number one mistake was dating a musician! By nature I find most male musicians narcissistic. Especially if they've been doing it for 10+ years without getting anywhere and sacrificing their whole futures because they can't "give up on their dream". I dated a truly shitty musician who expected me to support him financially AND like his shitty music... I doubt he'll ever realize he's not going to make it and get himself a good job.

My ex had me brainwashed by love bombing into thinking he was the most selfless and loving person I'd ever met. A couple months into our relationship we had the past relationship conversation and he spun this story about his ex calling him a narcissist and how it really hurt his feelings. I was so convinced by his act i actually felt sorry for him. Skip to 6 months later, I left him because he was indeed a narcissist... The girl warned me THROUGH him and I was still too dickmotized to see the re…

Its really nice to hear you found yourself a good one! Although I do not personally have kids, I based this post on my own observations of my family and friends. I also was expected to do a lot of the parenting for my younger sister because my dad shirked his responsibility onto me. Part of the reason I don't want kids is that I'm too scared the same thing will happen to me. I think the truly good fathers out there are pretty rare so I'm happy you found one. And like I mentioned, women should ex…

No I didn't but its not surprising. There's also video compilations of "dad reflexes", which are mostly a bunch of men catching their baby as they fall off a couch, or catching a ball that's flying towards their child. But again those reflexes are usually needed because the dad isn't watching the kid close enough in the first place.

If its any consolation I had a similar upbringing with my mom doing all the hardwork and my dad only seeing us occasionally. He would always buy us presents and take us cool places... And my mom would feed and clothe us. As a child I may have thought he was the "fun" parent. But the older I get the less respect I have for him and the more love I have for my mom. Don't worry about your kids. They'll know when they're older which parent actually provided and loved them. Gosh those instagram posts …

I feel like as a general rule, if it doesn't feel right, its not right. You have to trust your instincts! If he was worth being with you would never have thought about leaving him in the first place. I once broke up with a man I dated for 5 years and it was one of the hardest, most emotionally devastating things I've ever done. I left because I wasn't happy, even though I had been convinced he was a great man. There were even moments in my low points that I thought I'd made a horrible mistake an…
