Wife's spending and alcoholismOh no. I've got the cash. I've cut her off from the joint account. She claims to only have a small amount of cash. That may or may not be true. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/02/26 10:41 PM
Wife's spending and alcoholismYes she did. I wasn't even present. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/02/26 07:00 PM
Wife's spending and alcoholismThis is the sad reality. The general consensus from myself and mutual friends, one of which is a recovered addict is that she will be dead in 10 years if she does not change now. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/02/26 06:44 PM
Wife's spending and alcoholismShe refuses AA meetings thinks that a 12-step program is stupid and not for her. It's questionable whether or not she will even go into rehab again | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/02/26 06:32 PM
Wife's spending and alcoholismUnfortunately, her idea of support is my walking on proverbial eggshells, while simultaneously neglecting every emotional need that I have. We are talking about a woman who felt belittled and criticized because I dare ask her if she was going to add water to the taco meat as per the package directions. She is unbelievably insecure and I don't know how to work with that. | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/02/26 06:03 PM
Lol - why is every man a “narcissist”The short answer is pop psychology. The long answer lies in attachment theory. There are four types of attachment styles, dismissive avoidant, anxiously attached, fearful avoidant, and securely attached. Many women and men fail to understand attachment style. Psst, we all have one. This dynamic is none more evident than when and avoidantly attached partner is paired with an anxiously attached partner. Both attachment styles are insecure. The behavior and defense mechanisms of the avoidantly atta… | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/09/25 10:04 PM

Do most good family law attorneys charge for the first consultation? A lawyer told me so, but I am not sure if it is true. Some do. Some don't | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/09/23 07:38 PM
Is moving to another Country that isn't the United States (Spoiler Alert: Ukraine) a feasible way to avoid Child Support and Alimony if you get divorced?Surely this is satire. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/09/23 05:58 PM
I know it's extremely ill advised to move out of the martial home before a legal separation or finalization of divorce, but what about campers? That's where the door bell cam, and cellular device comes into play. All communications will either be documented. How can I be trespassing on my own property? Plus I know I will have to continue to pay the mortgage and utilities on the house. | /r/Divorce_Men | 06/09/23 02:10 PM

Wife and I are splitting, what to do about the home?THIS 💯 is EXACTLY the type of shit you want to document! | /r/Divorce_Men | 27/07/23 11:03 PM
Divorcing Wife VocabularySounds like she settled for security rather than marrying for love. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/07/23 09:04 PM
Divorcing Wife VocabularyI'm not happy. Translation, I want to relive my 304 phase while I still have some semblance of sexual marketability. Or I'm simply bored of my doormat | /r/Divorce_Men | 13/07/23 09:25 PM
Personality ChangeIdk. I think it's more of a showing their true colors than a bait and switch thing. I know of two women who married in their mid to late 20's. Both were from poverty and very much in their 304 phase when they met their husbands. Both marriages are currently failing as these women are now in their late 30's early 40's and considering divorce. Moral of the story, they grew bored of their doormats. | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/07/23 12:01 AM
Something we are never taught: Don’t marry just for looks.Lol I think someone wrote a song about this. https://youtu.be/Y1ZJiBHh-Yw | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/07/23 06:10 AM
Her lawyer is $3k, mine is $7.5k…am I going to win?Child support is a mathematical formula. It factors in many things such as income differential between parents, cost of health insurance, who has the most time with kids, and a bunch of other shit. My guess would be you'll still end up paying child support, simply because you are the higher earner. Although, whatever you end up paying should be less than if she had full physical custody. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/06/23 05:25 AM
Is marriage that bad?Lol that and half your bank account half your retirement half the equity in the home gone poof along with roughly 60% of your paycheck if God forbid you get stuck paying child support and allimony. The court uses your gross income during the highest quarter. Mary someone who is of equal socioeconomic status. Many will say if you do have children, do not allow her to be a stay at home mom. I would argue it's best for the children for parent to stay home especially during the early childhood years… | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/06/23 12:22 AM
Is marriage that bad?Forget the happily ever after fresh baked apple pie and white picket fence nonsense, and understand what a marriage actually is. It is a business contract in which one party usually the woman financially benefits from breaking. My best advice is to wait until you know you're sure. There is no need to marry someone after only a few years of dating. Cohabitate for at least 7 years. This is 2023. Living in sin is perfectly acceptable lol. Edit beware of the red flags. If it seems like she drinks a … | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/06/23 11:55 PM
Buy out/sale of marital homeIf you only purchased the home a year ago, there's no equity in the house. Buying her out would be pennies so to speak. If she however paid for contractors/materials and can prove so, then she may have an argument to say she is owed more than half the equity. Regardless, the idea of wanting "bought out" is fiscally stupid when there's little to no equity. This is about feelings. | /r/Divorce_Men | 07/06/23 12:22 PM
Divorce and reboundsJust go with it and see where it goes. I think by this point you're wise enough to be very very selective before you marry again.......IF you ever marry again. | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/05/23 09:09 PM
