She didn't just say it either, she falsified evidence in court. She facing several years of prison time just for that.

If you watch the video linked elsewhere the Prof even banned government released information for the project as a whole.

Good point. I've known that for a while but I keep reverting to innocent vs guilty because that's what the media pushes.

IMO it shouldn't be public knowledge what somebody was arrested for until after the trial. If they are found innocent not guilty nobody needs to know.

Most of those problems would go away if a persons face, name and alleged crime wasn't plastered all over the place as soon as they get arrested.

Need to be careful ignoring stuff like that. There are places where it's illegal to witness a crime/accident and not stick around to help/give a statement.

I don't think plea deals can be suspended unless it's part of the deal.

It's even worse when you realize that the charges would be sealed in their juvenile record in a few years anyways. All refusing to pursue these charges does is tell the girls that what they did is acceptable.

That can't be true about charging you. Keeping you detained maybe, but surely not charging you with a crime they know you didn't commit. Just seems like somebody was trying to pad their arrest numbers.

Good point. Next time I'll say "potentially NSFW."

I was expecting a picture of Wifey. PS. This is a SFW picture, but Googling her will not be.

I'm assuming that the crime has something to do with his position of power over the girl. I think OP got "almost 2 years" from the minimum time served of one year ten months.

The problem would be proving she intentionally wrote the wrong name. To prevent this kind of fraud there would have to be a law that required DNA testing before the father's name could be filled in.

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
