Book clubs, sports activities, gyms, shooting ranges, hobbies like geocaching or hiking, or, if you’re religiously inclined something with your church/religious community. Adults make friends like children, through regular contact and collaborative activity. It is important to be informed by sexual encounters, but it is not necessary. The desire for sex is biological and culturally reinforced (The stigma behind being a virgin, for instance).
