I’m a surgeon in NYC and this just boils my blood. The comments are infuriating. The problem is it echoes my experience in both residency and as a practicing surgeon. It has gotten harder to get into medical school. In 2018, 6.8% of all applicants were accepted. That number fell to 2.4% in 2019. There’s so many applicants that schools are only taking the best of the best. The average MCAT score for a top 50 school was 515/528. | /r/MensRights | 21/08/20 03:36 AM
Differences in treatment of men who have autism compared to women who have autism.Autism is a spectrum and the symptoms of the disorder can vary significantly depending on the severity. I’m sure everyone’s experiences are different, but I never noticed what you’re claiming. It’s important to understand that autism has historically been diagnosed more in men than women, in part because of how autism manifests differently between the two genders. More men are diagnosed with it because physicians weren’t sure how to spot it in women. Standards have changed, so more and more wome… | /r/MensRights | 20/08/20 12:40 PM
"Cheating on my husband made me a better mother". Medium article says to justify behavior.People without mental illness cheat and get cheated upon all the time. Cheating is wrong, but not because someone has a mental illness. People need to realize that they have no obligation to stay with someone just because of a physical or mental illness. Treading around someone like they might blow up any second because they have an illness is wrong. Just treat them like a normal person because I can tell you that nobody wants to be defined by their illness. | /r/MensRights | 20/08/20 12:18 PM
52.4% of men from Rural Haryana experienced gender-based violence at the hand of women. That makes sense. The sentence is just terribly written. | /r/MensRights | 19/08/20 11:53 PM
Ball injury jokes in comedy aren't funny and are inappropriate for childrenAny legitimate self-defense program will train you to go for the eyes and nose. | /r/MensRights | 19/08/20 11:49 PM
But women are oppressed in india right ? Many such cases are false but ruins the life of men and his parents and siblings... more men suicides due to false cases in india... but all media is interested to project how women are oppressed....and men as criminalsYou can sue the estate of a deceased individual. | /r/MensRights | 19/08/20 10:52 PM
"Cheating on my husband made me a better mother". Medium article says to justify behavior. You can form an argument to support anything. Whether it’s a good argument or not is a different story. | /r/MensRights | 19/08/20 10:50 PM
"Cheating on my husband made me a better mother". Medium article says to justify behavior. What does mental illness have anything to do with it? People with mental illness should be treated just like any other person; hell, a good portion of the population has some form of mental illness anyways. | /r/MensRights | 19/08/20 10:42 PM
Reproductive rights for all.Abortion doesn’t technically terminate parental rights. If a woman gets an abortion, she is still the mother and there is still a father. The fetus is just deceased. You would just need legislation to allow people to legally remove their names from a birth certificate even if they are the biological parent. Not sure if that exists. This could maybe even be argued under the same theory of “right to privacy” that Roe v. Wade used with the 14th amendment. It’s a stretch of course. | /r/MensRights | 17/08/20 09:05 PM
Older men charged more for using Tinder's premium service, Choice mystery shoppers findI never said it was okay. I am simply providing rationale. | /r/MensRights | 17/08/20 04:53 PM
Seen this and just had to post it. What if you are underage? Gay? Asexual? In a relationship? Celibate for religious reasons? And you refuse that’s rape? No, it’s quite the opposite.Pretty sure last time I’ve seen this it was pointed out to be satire. | /r/MensRights | 17/08/20 02:11 PM
God forbid a guy wants to know if he’s the biological father. Just a Reddit thread crucifying a dude for not being a dumbass who takes the word of his partner without question. You will not have to pay child support until paternity is established. Once it is, you can petition the court for a custody agreement. | /r/MensRights | 17/08/20 01:58 PM
Older men charged more for using Tinder's premium service, Choice mystery shoppers findIf there’s more older straight men on the platform, then they would be providing a disincentive for them to use it. Likewise, there might not be enough queer women, so they incentivize them to utilize the service by marking it cheap. If you’re the only queer woman, then it’ll be hard to get a match. Likewise, if there’s only a limited number of women for older men, then it would be more difficult for them to get a match with the abundant competition. | /r/MensRights | 17/08/20 01:45 PM
Telling men "it's okay to cry" is just another way to tell men "man up"Because for decades men have been told to not show emotion? That shit isn’t good for your mental health. You should be able to express yourself in whichever way makes you comfortable. | /r/MensRights | 17/08/20 01:30 PM
Trial by social media is a thing now. This is going to ruin lives. It’s extremely common for victims of abuse to not come out about their experiences until later on. Four years isn’t really that long and it’s likely within the statute of limitations for criminal charges. Let’s not forget how it’s taken many years, and in some cases decades even, for people to speak out about the abuse they’ve received in the Catholic Church. | /r/MensRights | 17/08/20 01:22 PM
Does anybody else get jealous by how easy work is for women?I think you’re wildly over estimating how many women sell sex and how much they make from it. There’s certainly people making bank selling nudes and such, but that’s not really the norm. While the market for a man to do the same is much smaller, it is there. The people purchasing these services know about free porn. However, many people like to receive custom content and stuff of that nature. Finally, selling nudes and such really isn’t a long-term job. You’re not getting health insurance or a 4… | /r/MensRights | 17/08/20 01:04 PM
Reproductive rights for all.I don’t think this would require a constitutional amendment, just some new legislation. | /r/MensRights | 17/08/20 12:55 PM
Reproductive rights for all. This is interesting. I’ve never heard of spousal consent for a vasectomy, but I have for when women get their tubes tied. I guess it just depend on where you’re at. | /r/MensRights | 17/08/20 12:53 PM
