I have been called an MRA on multiple occasions even though I am not one, and I just don't understand why.I think MRM is in a very similar position to the feminist movement. Just as many feminists have gained prominence through disparaging Men, many people are able to gain prominence in the MRM (or in other areas of the "manosphere" that get lumped in with the MRM)for disparaging women. These people's inflammatory remarks can often get the most attention and can end up defining how many people see the movement. Feminism started in the 19th century, and third wave feminism ( the brand of feminism that MRA's seem to take the most issue with) didn't begin until the 1980's or 90's.
