Sounds like shitty people in general. Partying when you should be studying? You had to be talked into it while they were fulling embracing it. I went to a lot of Bible study’s and made friends with people in my classes that were focused on understanding the material/succeeding. I’m not well versed in all the religions but I think it’s really only a requirement for Jews, and of course they can do that later in life, but it might have a gray area with the “what if they aren’t around that long” kinda thing. Societal norms are odd, it’s a practice that’s been around since the BC times, but it’s never really taken off with such popularity until like idk 50 years ago. Ultimately I’m against cutting off parts of people if they have no say in it lol, but I do think we should be able to choose something like that at a much younger age as well, maybe 13 or 14, idk, maybe leave it up to a state level and they can decide

The thing with this is you’re comparing it to things that aren’t similar to a circumcision The things you mention require being a legally responsible individual and be able to keep up with such tasks. This is a physical preference which is laid itself upon us as a social norm.
