Step 1 is not to define your worth by worldly success or where you “should” be- although drive and direction is important. Step 2 is follow your heart and what gives you peace. I believe God let’s us know when we are heading in the wrong direction (usually this means that you aren’t ordering your soul properly and valuing Money, Status, Career, etc. over God (Love) - which in turn eventually makes you unhappy in the long run and will not satisfy you. With the rightly ordered soul you can handle …

Born Catholic. Took me 29 years to understand and appreciate the beauty of it - and our belief of the “Church” Christ started. That’s my recommendation - feel free to ask anything you doubt about it!

Take pride in your self-control brotha! Own it.

Fair regarding the original discussion of post. Really responding to your last sentence about it doesn’t matter what they think if they are in your frame - I’d argue it very well does. Maybe they believe in divorce and you don’t..if you didn’t vet that out beforehand you may be in for a rough ride.

Because my experience in how secular society shapes women and the Bible: 14 Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? This will make your life way, way easier too.

I personally need to see a strong faith on their own. Which women are definitely capable of without a man. If they are practicing the Faith just for you that’s a house built on sand in my opinion. They need to be convinced of their faith otherwise it’s a battle between you and society on educating her - which isn’t impossible - but I think theirs a reason the Bible says you can’t be unequally yoked spiritually. Edit: realized this post was about relationships and not marriage. If relationship I …

I appreciate your arguments and rebuttals, I’m not ignoring them, but I knew where our argument would eventually go, and ultimately that boils down to my belief in apostolic/sacred tradition. We can continue on this track but that’s what we would be arguing. And that’s why I originally asked if you are part of a Church? Do you not trust their tradition and years of wisdom on the subject? I trust the authority and thousands of years of tradition in my Church is in line with God’s intentions. Whic…

Well first off, What is your argument with that verse? Because to me it’s vague what you are implying with it. That having sex marries two together? Because you say marriage is marriage in the eyes of God but you don’t actually define marriage. Because If so, why does this verse just say one body and not marry? “Or do you not know that the one who joins himself to a prostitute is one body with her? “ Jesus was talking about divorcing when referencing that verse - not defining exactly what consti…

I purposely asked about your Church and not the Bible. But since you want to take it Biblical and hold to that verse I ask you this (because even the Devil used verses against Jesus..as did the Pharisees, so one verse means nothing to me without context.) Are you aware, and do you have a philosophy, for the seemingly contradicting series of events in various parts of Genesis. Genesis 1:26 God creates humans after animal/plant/water life. In your series of writings God creates humans before plant…

Honest question, I’m guessing you aren’t a member of a Church? Marriage should be clearly instituted in most.

Good perspective on society! Maybe a low blow about the members here. Biblically, Self-control is the fruit of the Holy Spirit. It could be hard as someone with a ton of self-control to know what they are going through, as they aren’t fully developed spiritually yet, but at least they are striving towards it and hopefully improving.

It’s said that God is the uniter and the Devil is the divider in life. As a Catholic I believe the Church is CRUCIAL - we need to be a united COMMUNITY worshiping together. Good on you for trying to get a positive place for people to come together - you are seeing the bigger picture. And sometimes it’s not for your personal sake - but for someone who comes there needing a positive environment. But I believe it is our duty to provide that community. “I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our …

My original comment was an explanation and a verse and you just threw out a verse which wasn’t helpful. State an argument against what I originally posted. Also, tell me, if you are dating someone who checks all the logical boxes, but you just don’t feel right/happy - you going to still pursue forward? That’s all I’m saying, if you aren’t comfortable with the thought Of the future, don’t push it and vice Versa. How do you expect to hear God’s answers to your prayers anywhere but in your heart/co…

But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people.

I understand your reasoning, but God gave us a conscience and with strong faith I think the Holy Spirit can convict us through it. John 8:8 “And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.”

Listen to your heart/gut is all I’ll say as far as if it feels right. Try not to over analyze it - does it feel right being with her or not - no rush deciding now either I’d say - keep dating and see how it goes if you need to. I recently became a re-born Catholic. I was dating a girl for two years who to me was one of the most beautiful and attractive woman I could have desired. But something wasn’t “right” - turned out we were missing God in our relationship. We broke up because of this but so…

Damn, sounds like how my 2yr girlfriend has gotten. Especially this: She’s an achiever and not used to being wrong. I can’t remember the last apology from her even if she knows it’s warranted. She has also suffered from cheating in a previous marriage and relationships. Wish I had some advice, but I’m still navigating my situation. Keep being a man of Christ and let the chips fall where they may.

I remember that passage and have been meaning to follow up on it - if I recall he was speaking to a specific group of people in a specific situation - curious if the wisdom still applies, outside of that original context, today.

When I prayed and meditated on this issue after my “conversion” - I opened the passage to Jesus and Peter’s discussion before his denial of Christ. AN APOSTLE DENYING CHRIST. Not to mention Judas selling Jesus out for money. Made it clear as day to me then that Jesus knows the Church leaders won’t be perfect , but they should “come back and strengthen their brothers” after they have been tested by the Devil.

In 100% sincerity, find a woman who revolves her life around Jesus/God/Love (and has a deep understanding of it, not just superficial), and you will probably have a very fulfilling and peaceful life (but only if you are on-board with Christian ideals too). I just became what I call a reborn-Catholic. Following The Catholic doctrine Actually solves most of the classic Redpill issues with society imo. I took me over 10 years to understand the Faith though at a deep philosophical level.

Awesome brotha! Glad got yourself out of the circle of negativity into a positive life and mindset. Curious if you are an open book with your current girlfriend? Did you share your entire past (or most) with her - to the extent of this post?

In his defense I know a guy or two that could pull off that exact line or "you look like you need some dick". It has to do with how comfortable you are with sexuality and that's something that can't be taught. I couldn't pull off that line just because it's not natural for me...for someone who saw sex very casually growing up he can say that in a very casual and poke-funning way..AND the girl will pick up and realize it's just WHO he is and THEN guess what...it'll work... because he escalated, h…
