Making the assumption the whole or extreme majority are bad or corrupt based on the actions of few is not only unfair but dangerous for those that are in fact good guys. It’s a choice by some officers, an illegal, immoral choice which can/does/should get them disciplined or terminated. Also, friendship is a choice. If you disagree then I would like to know which agency and where in their job description it says that. There are some bad cops, though.... 2 things are inherently true, however. 1) fighting (physically), being a jerk or obstructing an investigation will NOT ever help your case. 2) being respectful will never hurt your case.
