Still divorcing but the parenting time I get is every other weekend with a bonus overnight and personally I hate it. My son tells me everytime he comes over that he wants to stay and he doesn't want to go to mommy's but he is only 3 so courts don't listen to what he has to say. I feel kinda like a babysitter so she can go party since she was doing that even when we were together. I love my son and can never get enough time with him but the time I get to spend with him is spent disciplining him f…

I don't tell anything. I like to keep our contact minimal and only pertaining to our son for me to talk to him.

Isn't that really expensive? I don't even know where to find one in my area.

That's the thing is I did those things. I took him to the ER and had officers do wellbeing checks. DEFACS has been to her house multiple times. These aren't just accusations but I've gotten to a point where I feel like I shouldn't even bother. These people don't show up without notice giving her plenty of time to get her story straight and hide all evidence. I found that out when we both took a mandatory drug test 3 months after I voiced my concerns to the GAL about her drug abuse. We both passe…

File a police report about the domestic abuse now. I made the mistake of never reporting it. Get a good lawyer and don't cheap out. Get every scrap of evidence you can about her being abusive. Record every phone call, conversation, interaction, etc. Do this to protect yourself and for evidence purpose.

I think that's what I'll do. The lawyer I have has encouraged me to give up things that I think are important. I have a different lawyer in mind already that was suggested to me by another divorced father that got full custody of his children so I will go talk to them ASAP.

That seems to be the issue is I've already done that and they won't get one set. I've already paid my retainer in full and it is non refundable but I'm considering hiring a different lawyer that someone suggested to me. I'm tired of giving up the things I care about to accommodate her, like rights to education because she doesn't have a GED. So would you hire a new lawyer if you were in my shoes?

Of course. I could never give up on him.

We tried mediation and that just resulted in her making new higher demands for it all and retracting other offers she had made before. The mediator even pointed out how she kept calling our son just her son and that there was no compromise going to happen. How do I aso for a trial? Do I ask the courthouse or my lawyer?

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
