I doubt many people are actually consciously happy and thankful that they were strapped down as babies and had a part of their genitalia chopped off. And if they are happy, it's because of cultural brainwashing and ignorance of human anatomy. False beliefs predict increased circumcision satisfaction, as seen in a sample of American men.

Like I said, I don't care about how you feel. But most Jews and Muslims are cut as children, and they had no choice in the matter. It's basically branding children and forcing religious membership on them, at their most vulnerable stages. I agree with you, but one reason that so many males are insecure about their penises that they are unaware of is circumcision. They're left with a big unappealing scar on their penis, and a discoloured and desensitised glans because it keratinises. Their penis becomes drier. Chafing isn't a problem for intact males, and erections aren't so uncomfortable for them, as they have enough skin for the penis to expand properly. The foreskin is vilified by many. This has to change.

I think you misunderstand what I am saying. Amputation is avoidable if the infection is noticed earlier and treated. It's not "easier and better" to just remove the foreskin. All conservative treatment options should be exhausted first, since it's better to preserve the foreskin.
