Cautionary tale: I started dating to "take my ex off the pedestal." Generally, it worked, and I've had a lot of fun, and then I met a "unicorn." She's pretty, the sex is phenomenal, we see eye-to-eye on all the important things, she's fantastic with my son and loves him as her own, but most importantly, I feel like I can trust her. | 33 | Who has gone to a female therapist during divorce and what was your exoerience like?I go to a female therapist. She's great. Basically, she told me not to take shit from my ex, and she has my back 100%. It doesn't matter what the gender of your therapist is. It only matters whether you are able to connect and open up with them. For what it's worth, prior to my current therapist, I was going to a male therapist, and he was awful. Gender doesn't have anything to do with it. If you're not happy with your therapist, shop around until you are. | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/12/23 05:56 AM |
| 1 | Why are we telling men to wait a year before dating? So you can recover and work on you. Women initiate the majority of breakups. That means their partners are blindsided and need time to put the pieces back together. Take that year waiting period and work on you, whatever that means for you. Your next partner will benefit indirectly from the effort you put in now, and only for as long as the relationship lasts, but you'll reap those benefits forever. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/10/23 12:42 AM |
