I agree. I was cut to correct 2nd degree distal hypospadias. It's a horrible practice and I wish doctors weren't so lax about deciding to do it. It should be a last resort only.

This post has gotten quite a lot of traction now, so I thought I'd say a few things. These two actions are not the sole fault of women. We can't combat misandry with misogyny. We are no better than misandrists if we do that. The attitudes towards these two actions are more the fault of society. And both are senseless attacks. But imho acid attacks are also not punished enough. A person who does that should have life imo. If they feel that it is okay to do that, they are not fit for society by any means. Similar sentencing should be given to penile severers.

Thanks for your elaboration and apologies for twisting your words. You've changed my perspective, thank you. I did overlook the fact that FGM can be repaired. Apologies for that. Obviously, it is a lot rarer for the penis to be successfully reattached, so I agree with you.

I honestly don't think they can. It's really hard to sympathise/empathise with things you have no experience of. This is one of those things. You can't know what it truly feels like without having one. That being said, FGM is a very important issue, too. And can lead to similar feelings depending on the severity of FGM. Just thought I'd add that I suppose there is an equivalent to this type of crime for females. That being breast severing. This can have a similar impact on a person since breasts are tied with femininity, like how penises are tied with masculinity. The prevalence of breast severing in comparison to penile severing, however, isn't comparable.
