So I didn’t have to pay any child support for the next 14 years. For example my daughter’s dance program is $25k a year. Summer camps. Monthly support payments. Insurance copays. My ex is responsible for all that and more. No drama. No money being exchanged ever again. I wanted a clean break financially.

Yes. Like many others here, I knew it would be a major impact on the kids having 2 separate lives 50% of the time. But it only made sense because their mom and I are very amicable and respect each other, facilitating top-notch coparenting. It’s not always perfect but we strive for it and the kids see it. It’s “worth” 0 until the company is sold. Company will be sold a couple months after the divorce. The problem is there is a whole slew of paper work showing her percentage ownership in the company and payouts. She used to mention “waterfalls” to me regarding compensation, and her waterfall grew a lot over three years.
