I think it's more just showing self confidence issues. Confidence is important but you should still practice humility and not be cocky. Lacking confidence to the point where you always have to be talking/smiling and then to the point where you are questioning it is definitely unattractive. You can talk/smile a lot and still be attractive because that's who you are it's not just you filling a void with one emotional mask of happy.
