Curing SexismMild to extreme discomfort. Something just fires off in my brain when I see women, and I start acting strange. Can't relax, etc. I don't know that well actually, which is why I'm seeking help. When I was in high school I'd physically start sweating and nervously shaking around girls (now that I'm remembering this... actually what the fuck?). Nowadays the feeling is less extreme but still there. | /r/ExRedPill | 03/11/22 12:13 AM
Curing SexismIn a professional setting it matters. I work in a male-dominated field that's well-known for being sexist. If I want to change that, I'll need to fix my obvious discomfort. And, I want a gf and there's no way to find somebody I'd like if I don't know any women 😭😭😭😭 | /r/ExRedPill | 01/11/22 07:02 PM
Curing SexismAsking "why" usually helps more than modifying the "how" in my opinion. | /r/ExRedPill | 01/11/22 06:37 PM
Curing SexismI don't speak to women. | /r/ExRedPill | 29/10/22 09:02 PM
Curing SexismI guess if you flipped the genders, say I was a girl and my father treated me poorly. I avoided men because I had female-dominated interests and felt uncomfortable around them causing me to make zero male friends. Then, it wouldn't make sense to call me sexist either. But that's not the case. It's still a problem that needs to addressed. And yes, it's a catch-22 situation, but that still doesn't mean I can throw my arms up and give up. I have to find a solution because I can't live my life witho… | /r/ExRedPill | 29/10/22 08:08 PM
Curing SexismI have zero female friends as a result. It feels like I'm actively avoiding women. | /r/ExRedPill | 29/10/22 07:40 PM
Curing SexismThat's a great solution. But I've found it's really difficult to regulate thoughts. I've found success with that strategy regarding racism, but it's probably because I don't care about races at all anymore, rather than controlling my thoughts. So if that's the case there's still some core belief I still hold that makes me care about a person being a man or being a woman. The question is... what? For other men in the same position I am in, I'll detail what I think it is: 1. Raised in a very tradi… | /r/ExRedPill | 29/10/22 04:10 PM
Curing SexismThanks for this comment, now I realize what exactly is wrong: I feel extreme discomfort being around women and that's an issue during company time. I'd also rather not be discriminatory if I ever reach a position where I am deciding who is getting hired. I would not enjoy being on the receiving end of my biases... | /r/ExRedPill | 29/10/22 01:36 PM
Curing SexismBecause I would not want to be "treated like a woman" if I were put in their shoes. | /r/ExRedPill | 29/10/22 01:23 PM
Curing SexismI'll give them a shot, but based on the titles I'll say this. My experience is that women (rightfully) avoid men like me. Even if I don't purposefully express any sexism, it still is detectable on the subconscious level. It's obvious I'm uncomfortable being around women. I probably will need to fix the internal before I go external. | /r/ExRedPill | 29/10/22 01:21 PM
Curing SexismFunnily enough, I have gone through some C-PTSD resources on my own, including Pete Walker's book, and I have witnessed myself partially healing the sexism. Maybe it's time to finish it. And the rage room idea is interesting. I personally rage in my journal. I'll take a look at therapistaid to see if I could find a more nuanced and analytical process for healing. I appreciate the free resources. | /r/ExRedPill | 29/10/22 01:09 PM
Curing Sexismpast relationship with women Definitely not good. And yeah, as you correctly inferred, my mother while I was growing up was insane. So I'm guessing therapy is a solution to "untangle the trauma." Personally, I'd rather not for financial reasons, but it's best to consider that as a prime solution. | /r/ExRedPill | 29/10/22 07:44 AM
