I'm not saying communication is easy. The words used by GP were "mindset", "thinks", "propose". If the couple explicity talks about the woman wants to marry, but the man conceals that he doesn't, then it's his fault. If he says he wants too, but actually doesn't, it's also his fault. If a woman wants marriage but doesn't want to communicate, then it's her fault for assuming.

You used the words "mindset", "think", "propose" in your message. The thing is, nobody has the duty to marry anyone, even after years of relationship, unless both people explicitly communicated that they want to and plan to marry. I understand that some people dislike talking about relationship stuff with their pattern and prefer to just see where it goes, but if it doesn't go anywhere then they kinda have to accept it... Of course, if someone LIES about wanting to marry you but doesn't, then it…

Why are you replying with a personal attack? Why do you assume I have problems with women? Just because someone finds their dating advice non-actionable doesn't mean I don't take their words seriously.

Sounds like a communication problem, and a problem of assuming other's intentions.

Yep exactly, it's like the movie "500 days of Summer". Happens all the time.

too many men want to be knee deep in pussy from looks alone Most of the people in this forum would be happy to have a single long-term relationship before death. Nobody ever joined Reddit to improve their "pussy" game. Also, they whine that women over 25 are useless, so there goes the female population that would appreciate more masculine men I really don't see this here, but even if it's true: don't confuse casual misogyny with dating preferences. Most people here would be happy to be with anyo…

"Unattractive" is not really just about looks. The "nice guy" stereotype is the guy who tries to win girls over by being nice and polite and "cavalier", send roses, cards, is direct but still shy. This has also gotten a negative connotation, making women avoid those types. According to women they prefer playful flirtation, this is also attractive other than looks.

I'm not going to write a guy off because he's hesitant at a first glance, but I'm not going to chase every curious man I see and demand his number. There is a healthy middle ground here that you seem to be missing. You don't have to chase if you don't want to, but if a man is curious and you feel you would enjoy being approached, then you might as well open yourself more. Maybe strike some conversation and wait for it? It seems you expect people to act on the spot. This is alright! But you're se…

But it's empirically true. Just Google dating advice given by women and you'll notice that it ranges from completely non-functional (because women have a more passive role in dating, "courtship", etc) to completely unrelated (when women advise men to "consume works of art by women" or to do charity). Outside the internet it's also not as different. I have plenty of women as friends and they also tend to give very bad advice.

The problem isn't merely dating, these men have horrid social skills. And this is traditionally the kind of thing that is taught by parents, and is the kind of thing parents are failing at. Also, you seem to be projecting a lot here. In most cultures it is extremely common for parents to give advice to children and pass on some values, the thing about young people learning to live by themselves is quite new. And no, this kind of advice is not "chasing pussy". There is more to relationships than …

How about men not be bad That's a nice idea and all, but as a man I can only control my own actions. I mean, what do you want individual men to do? Women on the other hand could take a little responsibility in their own, individually, and not get involved with men who are obviously "bad" (your words, not mine).

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
