I am way too bothered by the comments section than it is worth Just threads of comments tiptoeing around the problem but never actually adressing things

how can they really know how someone will react? In my case, though I have not understood it at the time, sometimes you are all around unattractive enough that its just common sense. I saw with whom my interests would get together later on and i couldnt compete in the slightest. Fair enough i guess Its one thing to decide on your own not to try, but another to be told to bottle it up and not act on your feelings by someone else. Doesnt seem that much different to be told to not even think about …

/bit of a vent If i had to make a guess, based off of my experiences, i would say emotional neglect coupled with poor parenting. Pair that with the dominating mother/meek father dynamic and it just cannot go well for anyone as my siblings share my fate. I base my guess on the fact that people interact with their family before the meet their peers for the first time

You can kill a man, but you can't kill an idea.
