Insecurity. Never date a man or woman like this: One evening my dude turns to me and says - oh, so & so female friend messaged me, (asks me if I’ll read it, I say sure) - do you think she’s flirting with me? - No. - But why did she message me? - Because you’re friends. - Why didn’t you demand to see the message, why did I have to ask you to read it? - Uhh, idk I’ve never met your friend - “Why aren’t you mad she messaged me, why aren’t you jealous?? You don’t actually like me!!” Ya I checked out…

Those women are also dicks. Nobody should do it but the question was about men. If they asked - why do men shame women for saying “broke men are losers” I’d say the same thing

Maybe because if you frame everything as a negative you tend to sound like a dick. Try, I prefer brunettes versus blonde hair is ugly, I like fit women versus I don’t like fat women, I want a virgin versus I don’t want an experienced woman. Off topic but - this whole body count thing is absolutely bizarre to me, never encountered it irl - could someone briefly explain why anyone gives a f- (outside of being positive for stds or it being symptomatic of some greater pathology?) Is it a gen z thing…

Because when you’re talking about human beings not beverages - there’s a HUGE difference between saying - I like athletic women versus I think fat women are disgusting, I want a virginal woman versus woman who sleep with men are sluts. Like just…be nice??

You’d be satisfied with a partner like that? Make up sometimes, not obese and could cook and clean but otherwise did nothing else? Idk what qualifies as a domineering personality - like controlling and bossy?) Men really don’t care if their partners don’t have hobbies, interests, or a personality?

Would those male doctors be ok with dating a woman who upfront said she had no ambition to get an education or work outside the home? (Honestly asking because I’ve never met young men ok with this). I agree that men tend to care less than women about how much monetary success their partners have in their chosen careers, but outside of places that are very conservative & traditional I think men tend to desire women who have similar values regarding work and gender roles (e.g. both have careers an…

You must not interact with a lot of professional men. The overwhelming majority of professional men under 40 prefer professional, educated, and/or ambitious women who come from similar socioeconomic backgrounds. I don’t know, nor have I ever met a single male doctor or attorney who would be ok with dating a woman whose life goal was to be a homemaker.

Bullshit. Women are constantly doing things to make themselves attractive to men. For instance look at the amount of effort women have to put in to be considered attractive and desirable to the average man. But no, you’re right all women are low effort, lazy and dgaf what the men they want to attract think.

Preach. I used to hate being told - he’s so nice and he obviously really cares about you, why aren’t you dating him? Because I’m not physically attracted and I can’t force myself to find someone attractive if they were an immediate, unequivocal “no” when I first met them. That’s the main difference (for me) between male friends and boyfriends. I’ve had male friends that were the greatest dudes anyone could ask for but we never dated because I wasn’t physically attracted to them, they weren’t to …

This is an absurd point of view that will leave anyone who adopts it lonely and dissatisfied. Speaking in sweeping generalizations isn’t going to get you far. If you believe almost all women are this unapologetically selfish I hardly know where to begin to unravel this clusterfuck of ridiculousness except to say - some PEOPLE are selfish in relationships, some people are generous - christ, introduce a little nuance into your life.

I can see where you’re coming from and I don’t think that it’s wholly incorrect. I just believe that a large number of “problem” guys are insensitive and selfish (for example) not necessitated by a dislike of women generally, but agree to disagree

Glad I’ve been made aware that in all my relationships I loved them less - who knew!

Many women are also pretty intuitive and if you’re RP you REEK of misogyny whether you think it’s apparent or not. It’s reductive and dehumanizing. It purports to give a list of infallible assumptions you can make about women and relationships - in actuality it’s simplistic, pacifying bullshit for angry and entitled men.

Word. I think men AND women whose socialization in their formative years is mainly via the internet are going to have some strange ideas about what typically happens when people interact in person.

Late twenties I can see but OP said 10-15 years younger than 35, so 20-25 with 35+ seems..odd if you’re not after money and support

Only via parasocial relationships on the internet. That counts right?

It’s likely: a) to scare women into accepting suboptimal treatment, b) they feel personally attacked or rejected by women who make these comments (women are happy single = all men suck), c) they’re deeply insecure and tearing women down gives them a false sense of power and superiority, and/or d) they are terrified of being alone/being in the situation these women are in. All in all it’s quite pathetic.

Seriously. I have never known a single well adjusted, attractive woman in her early to mid twenties who would date a 35 year old man over someone her own age. The 22 year olds you would be dating don’t want you because you’re so awesome to be around - they want what you can do for them ($$$).

I approve! Indeed I hate being around any men because they’re so terrible. Having to be in the presence of my dad, my uncles, my cousins makes my skin crawl. My male dog sucks and I hate him - female dog is great though, love when she tries to bite me for moving her off my lap. Every romantic or casual relationship I’ve ever had with a man has made me want to set myself on fire - pretty sure I’m insane for continuing to want to be around them :/

Totally agree with this. If you want a meaningful, deep connection- personality is paramount. Who wants to spend years or a lifetime with some hot, wealthy dingbat whom they think is mean, humorless, boring, or awkward? Torturous.

Seriously. It seems like people that are so worried about gold diggers drastically underestimate men’s intelligence. Like if a guy is completely bankrolling his girlfriend he is somehow totally oblivious to that fact and if he is aware he is clueless as to how he got into that situation in the first place (and thus was unable to prevent it).

A lot of the complaints here are really about the division of assets upon divorce (e.g. if she cheats she shouldn’t get half my stuff, I paid for the house we bought when married therefore it should be mine, etc.) rather than no fault divorce in and of itself. If someone cheating on you or otherwise being “at fault” and getting half of the marital assets (“your stuff”) is so important than get a pre or post marital agreement (a proper one, which requires attorneys or a proper waiver of counsel) …

This is not true. In a community property state any income that can be traced to separate property remains separate property (even if you commingle funds as long as it’s traceable it’s yours). In your example, a rental property purchased before marriage that generated $1 million over the course of the marriage is yours not your spouse’s. The only thing your spouse may be entitled to recover is if you spent substantial amounts of community funds to improve that property (and even then they would …
