Trans misandry is real.Oh shit! That’s wild 😬 I’m doing great. Since I left the “community” a few years ago and live fully and am perceived fully as male, I don’t have any issues. I’ve met a few women who are comfortable being around men and have no prejudices against male gender and that’s been refreshing. We’re good friends. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 10/01/25 12:47 PM
Trans misandry is real.I’m a trans guy and I can attest, we deal with a lot of misandry the same way as cis guys, especially if we’re stealth (=non-disclosing). Sucks, but also kinda affirming. But yes, puts a lot of things into perspective. That misandry is one of the MAIN reasons I left the LGBT community. Not the only reason, but definitely received a lot of pushback from them for simply being who I am and minding my own business. They do see you (esp women) as a threat (unless you are non-passing = they don’t real… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 10/01/25 04:58 AM
In your day-to-day life, how has the chilling effect caused by the societal suspicion of men around women or children manifested for you?Tbh I was even called a creep by a female friend for complimenting her friend on her looks 🫠 | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 07/11/24 04:39 AM
In your day-to-day life, how has the chilling effect caused by the societal suspicion of men around women or children manifested for you?Yes, especially as I’m an immigrant I go an extra mile to avoid any trouble | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 07/11/24 04:37 AM
How did you realize you don't live in a real patriarchy? So we should censor ourselves ahead of time, just in case? Even in a safe-space for men? That’s so limiting and unfair. We should be able to express ourselves and — yes, learn from our mistakes. But punished every time we speak up our minds? Be extremely self-conscious about the words we use in a space designed specifically for us? Nah, I don’t see how that’s fair. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 07/11/24 04:37 AM
How did you realize you don't live in a real patriarchy?By no means the western society is a patriarchy. I swear, every time I hear this I wanna punch that person in the was and show them a few videos of how women are treated in REAL patriarchal societies like Iran for instance. Those ppl crying about patriarchy in the western society just have never seen real struggle. Sorry to put it this way. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 07/11/24 04:19 AM
I father of 2, got called incel at work here is why…statistically, its actually men who are more at risk… Dude I definitely felt that. I was wondering if it’s just me and smth is wrong with me. But at least here in the US I feel like I was feeling safer walking down the street pre-transition than post-transition. Just because I feel like it’s expected from a man to respond to a confrontation, usually with violence to violence — and who tf knows how it ends. But it’s not expected from women. Yes, they’re weaker by default but it also feels like t… | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 07/11/24 04:15 AM
In your day-to-day life, how has the chilling effect caused by the societal suspicion of men around women or children manifested for you? When I transitioned, I started feeling like I can no longer look at children and admire them. Before I would just smile at kids and waive and it was totally okay. But then after transitioning I became self-conscious about it and didn’t want to be considered creepy or unsafe. Also, I could see how women become nervous around me when 1-1 on the train for example or walking down the street at night. It sucks to be perceived as danger until you prove otherwise. | /r/LeftWingMaleAdvocates | 07/11/24 04:08 AM
