16	Trans misandry is real. I’m a trans guy and I can attest, we deal with a lot of misandry the same way as cis guys, especially if we’re stealth (=non-disclosing). Sucks, but also kinda affirming. But yes, puts a lot of things into perspective. That misandry is one of the MAIN reasons I left the LGBT community. Not the only reason, but definitely received a lot of pushback from them for simply being who I am and minding my own business. We should be able to express ourselves and — yes, learn from our mistakes. But punished every time we speak up our minds? 1	In your day-to-day life, how has the chilling effect caused by the societal suspicion of men around women or children manifested for you? When I transitioned, I started feeling like I can no longer look at children and admire them. Before I would just smile at kids and waive and it was totally okay. But then after transitioning I became self-conscious about it and didn’t want to be considered creepy or unsafe. Also, I could see how women become nervous around me when 1-1 on the train for example or walking down the street at night.
