That's a horse of a different color, though. You're talking about marriages that have in all likelihood been long-established. But when most people first get married, usually both partners are in their 20's or, at most, early 30's; and neither partner has yet reached their peak money-making capability. The money isn't the reason these people were attracted to each other. But to address the distinction in divorce rates; yes, and it makes sense logically. But not for the reason you think. Stay-at-…

The few marriages with women having more than the man are the LEAST likely to survive as well long term. Says who? Do you have a source to back this up?

Err... plenty. There are tons of married men who are poor. There are tons of broke couples. I’m engaged to my fiancé because I love him and I’m attracted to him, not because he’s rich (he’s not). It’s very sad that you think money is all that attracts women. Clearly it’s the reason you’re employing long-term prostitutes. I’m sorry, but just because she’s texting you and buddying up to you doesn’t mean that she’s attracted to you or in love with you. You’re paying her for a service. A good busine…

Like men don’t? I know way more fat guys in their mid to late 20’s than fit ones. The ratio gets even worse later on.

I like planning dates with my fiance. This is where having common interests becomes very important. One of you says "hey, this thing looks/sounds like fun," and the other goes, "okay! How do you do that/replicate it/etc." and go from there. Not so easy if you have nothing but sexual attraction binding you together.

It's because a lot of men really let themselves go after they get married and start a family. It's about that time, too--30's-40's. They stop caring about their physique. Not to say that husbands/dads are the only older men to look like that--just where the term comes from.

I think the easiest way to refute what you're saying is to examine the market for sex. The approximate number of women who pay for sex is 0. Because women tend to prefer emotionally connected sex, rather than casual sex. Also, women are shamed for it. Women tend to have different sexual preferences than a lot of men. I'm a prime example. I love sex, but I want it with one guy. I wouldn't want to be having sex with tons of strangers--not only is it not safe (especially for a woman), I think the e…

men who believe a woman's idea of a relationship includes innumerable things we don't really care about, while relegating the one thing we do care about to an afterthought. I feel like this is a very sad perspective, though. There are a ton of men who don't only care about sex. Just like there are tons of women who love sex and do consider it a priority. I wouldn't personally be in a relationship with my fiance if I believed that all he wanted from me was sex. I know for a fact that he views me …

Yeah, as a woman, none of this has been my experience in an LTR at all... Not that that's a complaint. I'm in a very happy relationship. But it's nothing like what you describe. It's very egalitarian. There's three reasons why more women graduating college, thereby having better jobs, is irrelevant to men dating. For one, most women date up not down. I have more education than my fiance. (However, he does out-earn me.) women have no social responsibility towards being a "provider" towards their …

But, last thing about the young women thing, near everyone supports young women saying they aren't attracted to older men. No one will say they are sounding shallow in those regards. Because it's not really shallow. It's just human nature. Young men also aren't usually attracted to women twice their age. That's not shallow--that's just human nature. Young people generally aren't attracted to old people. It's not just the physique--it's that they're in a completely different life stage, as well. …

Well, first, I love having sex with my fiance. So I don't know if I'm the type of person you're looking for a response from. But, sex isn't my primary motivation for being with him. It's because I think he's an amazing person and he's not just my lover, but my best friend. Women don't just want sex (although that's important, too)--we want companionship. Someone to joke and laugh with, go on adventures with, have serious discussions with, and just generally enjoy our lives with. Living with my f…

I haven't personally come across this. I don't think men are really less likely to want to commit. If anything, men tend to like taking their time before committing, which I think is healthy and what I prefer anyway. There are some women who prefer quick commitment, which I think is where they run into problems. My fiance and I became officially exclusive after about a month of intense dating, moved in together after another few months, and got engaged after about 4ish years of cohabiting. It wa…

TyPiCaL fEmALe... If it wasn't the age, then that's probably why she ghosted you. Obviously I'm not literally sorry. Older men pursuing little girls is creepy as shit. Much older men harassing and trying to sleep with me have been the bane of my existence since I was literally 12. Not going to apologize for being disgusted by it now or ever.

And I also know for a fact, I was the asshole and blah blah blah according to them. Yet that didn't stop the friends who said that from trying it on with me Isn't it proof enough that age matters to women when they would rather pursue a young "asshole" than a "nice" guy 20-30 years their senior? Not saying that that is literally the case, just your words.

It is gross. I remember in my sorority in college, there was one girl who, at about 20-21, started dating some guy twice her age. Literally everyone judged her and talked about it. Not saying it was nice for anyone to gossip about her, but we all thought it was gross.

She probably ghosted you because she was 19 and essentially a child. She realized you're more than twice her age and the dynamic was likely weird. You didn't have the same interests and you were probably focused on middle-aged priorities, while she couldn't even legally drink. Sorry, it's creepy. She probably realized that.

What is FDS? As a 26-year-old woman, I do agree that women should avoid older men. I always have. I'm not attracted to them, for one thing. My fiance is my exact age. But beyond that, I have heard SO many horror stories of older toxic males seeking out only young and naive girls/women to take advantage of or abuse. Age gaps are a huge red flag. A couple of my girl friends have tried giving older men (within 5-10 years) a chance and have all had horrible experiences with men who used/mistreated t…

This is a weird post. I'm not threatened by Asian or Latina women. Some of my best girl friends are Asians and Latinas. Not only that, but why would I care if they started dating more white men? That's of no consequence to me. Even if I were single and there were no white men left, who cares? There are plenty of gorgeous men of other races. Other than white men, I've always personally been partial to Korean and Japanese men. But this is all a moot point because most women (myself included) are r…

Looks are important to both sexes. That's just a fact of life. Always has been, always will be. The blackpill takes it too far and pretends like men aren't just as, if not more, shallow than women. As an attractive woman, I've literally had men approach me and hold entire conversations with me while completely ignoring, and even turning their backs to, my less attractive friends--making for very awkward situations. Taylor Swift does shit for the men she's interested in, in hopes of attracting them. This is the essence of "Pick me" women and it runs contrary to the female ethos of "make him work his ass off to win me over." The only thing she really describes herself as doing in that song is understanding him (although that obviously doesn't entitle her to sex or a relationship). That's not even working her ass off--that's just a standard friendship/relationship thing. That's bare minimum in any healthy rel…

Ask a girl how many men they dated were actually an asshole, you’ll see where the numbers skew. A lot of people develop that opinion of the person after the fact. Ask a man how many women they dated were "psychos" or "bitches" and you'll get the same results. You have to take answers about ex-partners with a grain of salt, always.

Women think that nice guys are entitled for having desires and having a plan to fulfill those desires that did not work. "Nice guys" are called so because they pretend to be nice in order to get sex, and react with hostility and sexism when that plan doesn't work. That's why they're called "nice guys." It's because they're not actually nice. No one calls a guy who gets rejected and moves on with his life unperturbed a "nice guy." There is a difference.

I completely agree with you. This is one reason I decided not to tell my fiancee that I was a virgin until we were basically ready to have sex, lol. I wanted to know that he would have still liked me regardless, and that he wasn't some sexist schmuck obsessed with chaste women. The fact that he wasn't visibly happy or impressed at the fact that I was a virgin was a good sign to me. My sexual history, or lack thereof, was inconsequential to him. That's exactly what I was hoping for.

Well, that’s a different story I think. I’m speaking strictly of the type of woman who is considered to be more sexually or romantically attractive to a certain type of man, regardless of whether or not he sees himself having kids with her.

I don’t think it’s that. They know they have no claim of any kind on the hooker—the hooker is having sex with tons of other people and is doing it for her own financial benefit. I think there are a lot of men who would rather possess a woman “of their own”, even if it means making certain sacrifices. Also the Whore-Madonna complex—there are a lot of men who are disgusted by female sexuality and don’t really care whether the woman is turned on or not. For some of these men, whether or not the wom…

Ok, so we're back to square one. Being naggy is default for dissatisfied women who for whatever reason don't leave the relationship. Or for women who are dissatisfied because they are in a relationship with someone who cannot function like a responsible adult. In which case, it's good that the relationship ended.

I would have to ask what exactly you consider to be "passive." My fiancee doesn't have a temper whatsoever and is very laidback and easygoing. Some people might call that "passive." Staying home is a benefit, and getting some guy to go work and provide for you is the traditional woman's benefit. And the traditional role for a woman is to have a litter of kids. Something I would personally rather kill myself than do. I would take working and being able to vote over having to raise kids any day of the week.

Lmao, I'm engaged. I don't nag, anyway--my fiancee is a neat, clean, and organized person by nature. I've literally never had to ask him to act like a functional adult in the entire 5 years we've been together. I've just witnessed relationships and marriages where the man clearly couldn't function without his wife pulling 90% of the weight around the home. They looked exhausting and most of the time they ended. I would never want to be in a relationship like that.

To be fair, your grandmother does sound like a complete waste of space. Since when is marriage a matriarchal structure? Last I checked, it was created and enforced by men for millennia, and women were bearing the brunt of the grunt work (cooking, cleaning, laundry, dishes, grocery shopping, errands, arranging schedules, child rearing, etc. etc.). The most that could be said is that a century ago, men were the sole breadwinners. Now most women are also bringing in an income, and more women are college-educated than men (at least in the western world). I'm not really …

Men are by far the primary instigators and perpetrators of violent crime. So of course a lot of the victims are also going to be men. Women aren't quite as likely to be killed by gang violence because women aren't as likely to be members of gangs. Women are far, far more likely to be killed by an abusive boyfriend/husband or stalker than vice versa.

If they had enough sex with a hot enough partner at home they would neither had the time, or will, or energy to cheat. I think you're looking at this in a very one-dimensional sort of way. Not everything is so black and white. There are plenty of men who sexually reject their wives in favor of a mistress, or even just for a porn addiction. Disagree entirely. If women got more out of a long-term relationship/marriage than men did, then we wouldn't see the trends that we do: women are far less likely to want to remarry after a divorce, while men are the opposite. A tradcon male is not going to think this way. I think the majority of men--at least where I live--would prefer a woman with *some* sexual experience over none. I was a virgin when I met my fiancee and he admitted much later on (beyond the point where I might have gotten offended) that he was less than thrilled about that, lol…

I mean, more often than not, I think that's what happens anyway. Low n-count men tend to pair off with low-n count women more often than not. The reverse is also true. And then there are your average Joe couples--men and women who have both slept with a handful of people before finding each other.

Yep. Sex is way better, more enjoyable, and more satisfying when you and your partner care about each other and really know each other's bodies.

They lead aimless, pointless lives filled with nothing but that and working in kitchens. My guess is that it has more to do with working in kitchens and being poor than the casual sex they're having. As far as the sexual history thing goes; I don't see it that way at all. A lot of girls are too insecure to have casual sex because they're afraid of being judged. That's not respecting herself; that's being afraid of what others think of you, which is the opposite. I say that as someone with an n c…

But here's the difference: those promiscuous men are never seen as "marriage material". They're seen as one-night-stand material, just sex toys and nothing else, never "husband stuff". Women look at them and only consider them worthy for "bed work", never for any form of commitment, nor forming a family, nor anything like that. Where are you even getting this from? This is not true at all. Promiscuous men in general have no trouble getting long-term commitment. Personally, I don't care whether a…

I think there are 2 reasons they do it: It's an actual person on the other line that they're interacting with, at least minimally. And some guys think they stand a chance with these women. Why they think that, I'll never understand. They're buying hard into the Whore-Madonna complex. I think it’s only rare because most people don’t know how to communicate efficiently or step out of their own shoes and focus on empathizing with their partner. Personally can’t relate to that at all. I’ve been with my fiancée since I was 20 years old and haven’t gotten tired of being treated like a goddess yet. We literally never fight, and it’s bliss. I would say that they are probably more similar to each other than an older person with significant sexual/romantic experience would be, but age definitely does make a difference just on its own. I mentioned this in a comment to someone else on this thread, but if you think about it, someone in their late 20's or older is really in a different life phase than someone who is in their late teens or early 20's. In terms of getting with a very young partner? That's a difficult question to answer. This: a person in their late 20s with no sexual/romantic experience has only become common pretty recently--I would say over the last decade or so maybe? So I think it's kind of hard to make a judgment on that. Usually, the older men pursuing very young girls are guys with quite a bit of romantic/sexual history, which I think is what emboldens them. I would be pretty surprised if many of the older men hitting o…

I know a 19 year old who had more sex and relationships than a 35yo. Would that make them more compatible? In my opinion, I think it depends. A teenage relationship is a lot different from an adult relationship, so I still wouldn't consider the 19-year-old experienced in the right ways. On the other hand, if the 35-year-old is a virgin with zero experience, they might be on more equal footing. But there is still the fact that the 35-year-old would be at a different phase of life--they probably o…

Ok so, 23 year old is now a young girl too? I'm referring more to a healthy and acceptable "age gap" relationship. While I don't exactly consider 23 a young girl, your brain doesn't finish developing until you're 25. So a 23-year-old is still at a disadvantage compared to a seasoned adult. That issue is compounded by the relative lack of comparable life and social experience. Obviously, the difference is more extreme if it's a relationship between a 19-year-old and a 35-year-old, which in my opi…

There's a reason why late teens is the threshold for being an adult and is the age of consent. Society has deemed late teens to be mature enough--while not fully mature--to be considered an adult. That's not actually why. At least in the U.S., it's 18 because that was the age that you could be drafted into the army. The rationale was that if you're old enough to serve your country, you have a right to do anything else, basically (not that you should).

I (and most other women I know) had flings with older men in our late teens/early 20s. We weren't "manipulated" or "coerced" into doing things we didn't want to do. I did not, but I had friends in high school and college who were manipulated by significantly older men. I dated a 27 year old girl when I was 18-20. That's not okay. And she's creepy. But here's the thing. A man who is 35 should have barely anything at all in common with a girl who is 19. They're at totally different stages in life and she's little more than a child, and still doesn't have a fully developed adult brain or personality. That's one possibility, sure. A very young person with little life or romantic experience isn't likely to understand what healthy and toxic behaviors are in interpersonal relationships, or to be able to recognize abusive trends. It is. It's a personality flaw. But more than that, it's about how one's shallowness affects the people they're associated with. Someone who is in a relationship for shallow and selfish reasons will never prioritize the other person and their feelings. That's why young girls are often taken advantage of and used and abused by older men, if they give them a chance. Go take a look through all of the relationship advice subs and you'll see exactly what I'm talking about.

You're really discussing two different topics here. People primarily shame old men chasing young girls because they're often predatory and looking to use or manipulate them for their own selfish gain. This post is a prime example. The other guy actively participating in the comment thread you were in even admitted he likes young girls because they're easy to mold into what he wants, and they don't expect him to "have his shit together." Another prime example.

Lol, no. It's not their looks that make it creepy. When I was 18, I was hit on by older men that were objectively good-looking for their age. But what is good-looking to a 35-year-old is not what's good-looking to an 18-year-old. And even the ones who were objectively handsome creeped me out. It felt like being hit on by a predator. A grown man who was hunting for teenagers and girls who still weren't really fully grown. For comparison, a good-looking pedophile is still a pedophile.

No, for putting those creeps in their place. Someone who is 50 has no business trying to sleep with an 18-year-old. This is something most men will probably never be able to relate to or understand, but when you're a very young woman, having much older men try to sexually pursue you is disturbing and in many cases, scary. What commodities do you think a peacock or seahorse has to offer? No, it's usually a young, attractive, and healthy/strong male. Exchanging sexual companionship for material wealth (the implication here about older men) is something that was pushed on human women by society over the past several thousand years. I'm assuming you're not a woman, which is why you may not be aware of this, but... Older men will put themselves in proximity to you if you're a young woman. Constantly. Tons of them. Loyalty is more important than sex. Sex is still important, though. But think about it logically. If you’re valuing sex over loyalty, you’re likely to end up with someone who brings home genital herpes or some other malady. It’s short-sighted. Especially when it’s not really that difficult to find someone who is loyal AND good in bed. You can have both.

I guess we’re operating on different definitions then. By your standards, my fiancée definitely isn’t a Chad. But I still don’t think anyone should be partnering with someone who doesn’t cheat for the sole reason that they have no opportunity to do so. That’s still a poor partner.

It sounds like your family is garbage. Sorry about that. But that doesn't mean you can judge every other man's moral character by his attractiveness. Ugly men cheat. Attractive men cheat. If you're so afraid of being cheated on that you would pursue someone you're not attracted to in a vain effort to prevent it, you're far better off staying single for the rest of your life. Every relationship is a risk. Every one. But the important thing is being able to judge someone's moral character properly…

Are they dating older men now that young men aren't good enough anymore? No. If I'm being honest, I think a big problem is technology (I know, super cliche). I'm a big fan of tech myself, but I never let it take over my social life, etc. Plenty of kids over the past couple decades have been raised on technology more than around other people. Your argument sounds very similar to one made about men on the Pink Pill: "Sex for Men is Ego-Driven" Full disclosure, I don't believe either is entirely true. I'm sure there are women who have sex for ego purposes, just as there are men that do the same. But I 100% have a sex drive (yes, a drive for sex, not just masturbation), and I'm confounded as to where you're coming up with the idea that women don't have them.

“Loose vagina” is often used as the insult though—sure, it also is intended to shame promiscuity, but in a lot of cases it’s the supposed “looseness” itself that is supposed to shame the woman. I.e. that she is physically used up and unable to sexually please as a result. Logically it makes no sense—the vagina is full of muscles. I think it'd be great, personally. I don't want children anyway so I suppose it doesn't matter much for me, but it would eliminate a lot of the gender issues surrounding abortion, etc. In essence, it would also make it so that the mother and father are both more or less equally attached/detached from the resultant baby. Not just that. It would make having children possible for those who have chronic medical conditions and need to take medications that would jeopardize the fetus/make safe gestation impossible. If you're financially well off, you can freeze your eggs and would be able to use an artificial womb rather than having to pay an actual person to be a surrogate. Women would have been trying to proactively use sex to lure him into a committed relationship (if LTR is what those women were after) Not the case. People explicitly and implicitly shame single mothers ALL the time. You don’t even have to go further than this thread to see that that’s true. And there are plenty of single mothers who are happy with their choices regardless, but are still shamed by society.

I think you're missing the point here. Most people who both shame single mothers and are anti-choice enjoy putting women between a rock and a hard place and being able to shame them either way. Giving women an "out" (via abortion) would just deprive them of the opportunity to continue shaming and bashing women, which is what most of them are actually interested in.

I always viewed it as coded etiquette. Women are shamed much more for admitting that they care about looks than men are, and that's why you won't generally find many women openly broadcasting that looks are important. I've been bashed many times just for openly stating that, as a woman, a man's attractiveness and youth (i.e. has to be the same age as I am) play a significant part in attraction for me. I don't disagree, but I think that's more true of women who have lower standards in general. There's less demand for sexist men than non-sexist men (the same is true of women). Having good looks, etc. can compensate for that a little bit, and a woman with less self esteem might overlook it and just say "well, good enough I guess". But if you're in a position where you're able to attract a man who is attractive, has a good personality, and isn't a sexist, he's going to be the real prize, and he's…

100% sarcastic, lol. I have unattractive friends of both sexes. I've had unattractive guys hit on me. I don't take it as an insult or something; a compliment is a compliment is a compliment. I'm referring to guys whom I had taken an interest in in the past, but they scared me off with blanket comments about the women in their lives or off-color political jokes that clearly weren't actually jokes, etc. etc. etc. Or just the way they carry themselves and interact with women. To figure out women are shallow you have to do a little digging because most people think they're these perfect angels that can do no wrong and that all their mating choices reflect the merit of men. No one actually believes that except for the very young and the very stupid. Anyway, your entire comment is a non sequitur in the context of this conversation. Historically the man would seek permission from the father. Some cultures she could refuse, however that rarely happened as that might likely be her only opportunity for a family. At least in Europe, most peasants actually married for love, or at least out of mutual attraction/convenience. It was generally only nobles who married off their sons and daughters for wealth, alliances, or political gain. And nobles--yes, even the women--frequently cheated on each other as a result.

Some of the women who would let me start a conversation with them wouldn’t even look a less attractive man in the eye. Depending on a man’s circumstances, the stack of disadvantages can be especially difficult and demoralizing. Just saying, as an attractive woman, I've had men approach me and hold entire conversations with me with their backs turned to my less attractive female companions. Not even a "hello" to them, no acknowledgment that they exist. Men are shallow, too.

It should also go without saying that having nonwestern values will mostly lead to failure when trying to interact with western women. This 100%. Honestly though, I don't think these guys even realize that many of us easily recognize a misogynist even when he's not explicitly stating his misogyny. These guys tend to use dog whistles and speech patterns that they don't even notice they share. But women are vigilant. We notice, and we know. I'm not opposed to shaming people for being shitty or doing shitty things. But in these types of instances, I don't think it is helpful at all. Think about the type of person who is most likely to fall victim to men like that: insecure, vulnerable, low self esteem. Shaming does nothing here except perhaps exacerbate the issue. Don't misunderstand me. I have always taken precautions with men. But just because it's wise to be cautious doesn't mean that predators are not to blame, "genius". Most people who cut themselves aren't doing it for that reason; they're doing it because they're depressed. People who are into auto-asphyxiation? Nothing at all wrong with it, as long as they're doing it safely. By the way, people who practice BDSM tend to be mentally and emotionally healthier according to actual psychologists than people who don't. Just food for thought.

Kinks tend to be an adverse or opposing reaction to something we have an abundance of in our lives. For example, male CEOs are highly likely to be sexual submissives. This is because it gives them a sense of freedom from the control and pressure to make decisions in their daily lives. They can relinquish all of that in the bedroom. A blue collar worker is somewhat less likely to have that kink. Western women often like to be dominated in bed because it's a change from the normal pace in our cult…

Masculine attractiveness is based on a number of things. There's a reason I'm attracted to my fiancee, and not to middle-aged men. He's 25. He's hot, fit, firm, he doesn't have any wrinkles, he's not bald or gray. Why in the world would I be more attracted to a 40-year-old man who is likely less attractive in every way, even if he takes care of himself and is genetically blessed?

This. There's also the fact that psychologists have theorized that the type of women who send love letters/try to romance life-sentence convicts (like mass murderers/serial killers) largely pursue them because it's a relationship that to them, ironically feels more safe. Their intended is behind bars, unable to cheat on them, unable to hurt them, unable to hide, unable to really do anything of note other than either accept or reject their affection. This topic has come up in the childfree community before as well. I posted a similar question a long time ago on there--feel free to read the comments on it if you're curious. The general consensus is that women are typically the majority caretakers of children, even with husbands who do their best to contribute. And the statistics show you that. The only ones who date/marry that old are sugar babies. Sorry. They aren't attracted to you, they're attracted to…

Yes, because there's a huge difference between those preferences. Men tend to like women who are either thin/blessed with the right curves, or at an average weight--not chubby or overweight. That is fair. Women tend to like the same, except replace "thin"/curvy with lean and/or muscular. Also fair. These are pretty equal preferences. Both sexes can work toward at least one of those goals. Women having a preference for "wealthy" dudes--most women don't gold dig. The ones who do are noticed more b…

Idk if I'm just impatient or if I'm ugly or low status. It might not be any of those things. If you have any brutally honest friends or family--someone you would trust to tell you the 100% truth--you can try asking what they think the problem is. To me, one of the first things I guess when I hear a situation like yours is that it might just have to do with emotional/mental health. Still no one is getting my point. Maybe I’m not articulating this right. It’s not that those guys are more attractive; it’s that one would have fewer reasons to control her inhibitions around them. The only somewhat relatable personal experience I can give you—which maybe will get across my point better—is my approach with my (now) fiancée when we first met and started dating. Depends. For it to work, you have to be attractive, relatively young (no one's going for old dick), and have certain magnetic qualities. By "not respectable/admirable," I don't mean being an asshole necessarily. (Maybe but that's probably not the only disqualifier.) I think you’re looking at it wrong. Women want sex, too. Plenty of women want casual sex. But they’re less likely to have it with someone they really respect and admire, because they want to be respected and admired by them as well—and they know they probably won’t be if they immediately have sex. Look at it the other way around. Plenty of men have one night stands with women they don’t value. Why should women not want the same? I agree with this. I enjoy sex with my fiancee, but I wouldn't really call it "intimate." It's fun. Telling him about my fears and anxieties made me feel way more vulnerable and having him comfort me when I'm upset feels way more intimate to me. It's emotional intimacy as opposed to physical.

There are a few very basic things that they get right, but they distort most of it and misrepresent it and try to connect small disjointed bits of truth into a cohesive working theory. The problem is that they rarely make the right connections—they make too many assumptions based on too little evidence and try to present it as part of a “bigger picture” that never actually existed.

My point though is I think a lot of women try to avoid any kind of potential direct confrontation. That’s why it’s easier for some to avoid that possibility and fall back on passive aggression. Not saying it makes sense, just trying to explain why I think it’s pervasive.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/19 10:19 AM

You’re right about that, but I think women are trained by society to not be demanding or confrontational or to make waves. That kind of message after a while can make a lot of women not want to vocalize any issues at all for fear of being seen as less because of it. Obviously men don’t see it this way and I think it’s a fear that for a lot of women has to be unlearned.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/19 10:10 AM

Maybe I used the wrong turn of phrase here. What I mean is it can make you feel very vulnerable to tell someone else what you need from them, or what is hurting you. It can feel like wearing your heart on your sleeve. I think a lot of women fall back on passive aggression because it makes them feel less weak or vulnerable.

You think people aren’t attracted to other attractive people when in a relationship?... coming from a woman, I was pretty sure EVERYONE (male and female) is still attracted to other people at all times. I don’t fault parents for scaring kids straight when it comes to sex. No parent wants their child’s future ruined by a teenage pregnancy. Right, but the key is in how you approach that. Well, it's similar, but not exactly. The distinction I make is here: Women, as a group, just need to be in a relationship much more than men. Throughout 99.9999% of our history as humans, a woman has had little chance of survival without a man. Women are more social creatures than men. In the past, women partially ensured their survival by making friends within the tribe and socializing with other women. This gave us allies and to a degree, prevented us from being ousted for whatever reason. Tha…

Just an insecure one who makes senseless sexual choices. For all he knows, he could have chosen a woman who's going through a ton of personal issues or dealing with tragedies in her life, and he's trying to…

But the intention is to make her feel insecure. Otherwise it wouldn’t be called negging, and there would be no reason to do it. Motive matters.
/r/PurplePillDebate23/07/19 12:11 AM

Negging isn't being a jackass, not if done properly IMO, its simply challenging the other person. Negging is a strategic attempt to emotionally manipulate the other person into seeking your validation by making them feel insecure, all in a duplicitous bid to get into their pants. How is that not being a jackass?
/r/PurplePillDebate22/07/19 11:32 PM

Lol... There is a reason that only PUAs who spend their days on the internet strategizing about how to get a woman discuss negging. Because it doesn't work and it's obvious to the vast majority of women what you're doing. The only men I've come across who have tried to neg me have failed spectacularly and put themselves firmly in the "jackass" zone. Not sure why anyone thinks this actually works. The above is particularly ridiculous. If one of my male friends asked me for help finding a suitable…

Imagine this the other way around. There is a boring, unattractive, overweight woman. She spurns mediocre-looking guys and always goes after men who are at least 7-8/10. What advice would you give to this woman? Here's the answer: Either step her game up and become more interesting, more attractive, and more fit; or lower her standards and stop going after men who are never going to want to date her. It's not somehow an injustice when attractive women aren't attracted to unattractive men. Rememb…

There's a difference between not being constantly hit on, and being ignored as a human being. Men who aren't attractive are generally still acknowledged as people--why is it that no one ever makes fun of Jeff Bezos' looks, but mediocre-looking women with a public standing are constantly crucified for their looks, weight, or fashion sense? Because they are seen more as eye sores than human beings. Unattractive men who have something valuable to contribute to society--a good personality, ambition,…

maybe you and your girlfriends are more prudish than the average girls your age? Most of us were college girls in sororities. We weren't whoring ourselves out, but we weren't exactly nuns either. Statistics show that most young women are/were like us--partnering with men their own age, with an age gap of a few years or less. That speaks to attraction as well. If you can't see the level of narcissism in your statement, I can't help you. If you think it's narcissistic to not have children, I don't…

My dad is 64 and still gets his fair share of (free) non committal sex. Sometimes even with girls not much older than me. I'm in my mid 20s. That is HIGHLY unusual. I say that as someone who went to college, had plenty of girl friends, and was in a sorority. None of them dated or had sex with anyone beyond his 20's. None of my friends are attracted to men that old. And of course, I'm certainly not. A mans prime age on the market is around his mid 30s when he still looks relatively young and has …

Sex can be had with just a few texts or messages pretty often. Sometimes you don't even need that This only works upon the condition that the guy is relatively young (18-early 30's) and at least decently fit/attractive. The older a guy gets, the less likely he is to get casual sex from anyone. Then there's the fact that most women don't have casual sex, at least past a certain age/number of trysts. For the most part, I agree with you. My fiancee is from Portugal and is remarkably different from any American man I have ever met (I'm a woman from the US). He's much more communicative, sensitive to others, he's kind, he's friendly, and he's genuine. He also assumes the best of everyone he meets--something I admire a lot, even if it might not always necessarily be the best thing to do. The point of my comment went over your head. Am I able to discuss music theory? Yes. Do I care? Not particularly. Look at it this way: I have studied both literature and creative writing. When I was in university, I even had a very accomplished English professor sit me down to try to persuade me to switch majors, pursue writing post-grad, and study under him. Realistically, not what I wanted to dedicate my life to—but yes, I do have a passion for it. Does that make me superior or somehow “better…

If the most captivating part of your personality is what music you listen to, you are nearly void of one. I don’t even know what kinds of music my friends listen to because we have more interesting things to discuss than what the latest obscure indie tracks are, or for that matter, what Ellie Goulding is up to. No one who has actual interests cares. That is my point.

This is probably the most arrogant and elitist comment I have ever seen on Reddit, and that's saying something. Hearkens to mind the ol' "pop music is for posers" sound bite. I always found it interesting that the people who complained the most about "conformity" often conformed more strictly to the attitudes and ideals of whatever subculture they belonged to than the average person did to those of the "mainstream."

Female, fascinated with serial killer docus and interviews. This makes sense to me and I think you're on to something. A lot of the appeal for me is the mystery of what drives someone to commit that kind of violence. I have never felt urges anywhere close to killing someone. "Hey, I'm lost can you tell me the way to..." "I HAVE A BOYFRIEND" is a trope for a reason. It's a trope that realistically doesn't apply to anyone over the age of 20, at most. You can't ignore half the population as a functioning adult. Anyway, my point is, if she doesn't even realize you're trying to get something out of her, then tell her that before you try and touch her so that she can tell you whether or not the feeling is mutual. I think that makes sense.

That's true, and I'm sure there are some women who feel otherwise. But in my opinion, the kind of person who would double check and ask for consent is showing themselves to be both a very clear and straightforward communicator, and respectful of others. Any woman who would reject a man for being communicative and respectful of her is probably a poor partner anyway, and not worth your time. Just my 2 cents, of course.

You're also speculating about the perspectives of "more experienced women." You're not a woman, so... you're making guesses here as well.

You have only been with one guy? Yes. I met him when I was in college and he happened to be the one, so I haven't had any reason to sleep with anyone else. I think the perspective of more experienced women would differ greatly. I don't think so. If anything, maybe it depends on the woman herself. I don't think having more or fewer sexual partners necessarily changes you. I could have had 10 sexual partners and I think my views and preferences would be the same.

I agree with that, but even if you say "no" after having your tits grabbed, that doesn't make it okay for the guy who did that without any kind of indication from you beforehand that you were okay with it. Both men and women have to be accountable for their actions.

Consent is incredibly complex and will vary among women, her mood, the situation, and how attractive she personally finds the guy at hand. I mean, yes and no. If you catch a woman in a bad mood after her dog just died, yeah, she's probably not going to feel up to banging. And of course, if she finds you unattractive, she's not going to give you sexual consent (unless she has some ulterior motive--$$). I think that's pretty obvious and uncomplicated. I think the problem is more so that some men will "escalate" before providing the woman with an opportunity to say "no." Of course, this depends entirely on the specific situation. If you grab her genitals or butt without any indication from her that she wants a sexual relationship with you, or that she's even attracted to you, that's not okay. If you're both having a good time, clearly into each other, sexually reciprocating, etc. and after the fact someone complains about the act, that's anoth…

I agree with this. Being nice should simply be the default. It's not something you should champion about yourself--you should be ashamed if you are not nice. What exactly do you even mean by "sexually liberated"? Your descriptions are incredibly specific, to the point where it feels like you're describing a woman you know personally and simply generalizing her to millions of other women. Not at all. What I was attracted to in middle school/early high school was completely different from what I was attracted to by the time I started college. How would you know that? I’m speaking from experience. I’ve been living with mine for about 4 years now. If what you said was true of every man, he wouldn’t want to marry me. But he does. Because he loves me, he respects me, and we are best friends. There are so many men who view the women they are with as more than a pocket p****, and it makes me sad that you don’t see that.

It can lead to the man not wanting to marry if he gets sex, companionship etc. Why buy the milk? This line of thinking only makes sense if the man you are with looks at you as the provider of a service (sex, affection, etc.) that he's suckered, rather than a partner whom he genuinely loves, respects, and enjoys being with. Why would you want to marry the first man in the first place? Most men don't think like that (thank god).

First off, I don't find fault with your main premise, because for a lot of people it's true. What I take issue with is this: So number one, I know successful unmarried couples exist. But let’s be real they’re treated as subordinate to married couples. It’s just how it is. No one takes girlfriends or boyfriends seriously after a certain age.
