Anyone being alienated from their children or child?Parental Alienation is a huge issue affecting many parents (both men and women). I've been facing it for a long time and only relatively recently have I learned that this has name. I have been learning as much as I can about it. This Saturday April 25 is Parental Alienation Awareness Day. There is a documentary that is premiering that touches on the topic. https://erasingfamily.org/ I think the key thing to know is we are not alone. Others are also facing it, but to have hope because there are m… | /r/Divorce_Men | 24/04/20 04:43 AM
She's manipulating the kids and I am starting to see them changeI'm curious. if it's like a google docs without a "verified" timestamp that matter? Instead of an email each day of things that happened which captures the time, vs a word document that lists the date and time of each event, but all within 1 document with not "verified" timestamp. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/04/20 12:11 AM
She's manipulating the kids and I am starting to see them changehmm. That is tough. If she is violent and there is emotional manipulation and emotional abuse of the kids. Maybe you're right that it is better to have the cameras as proof. Because there's two things on the line - getting less custody vs going to jail. Wonder what each lawyer things given the different perspectives. My stbx also gets more aggressive when I captured her being yelling and acting negatively and tried to hit the phone out of my hand. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/04/20 12:09 AM
She's manipulating the kids and I am starting to see them changeParental Alienation affects both men and women. I was surprised and assumed it was just women doing this to men. But when I spoke with the many many mothers about it, I realized hate can come from either gender. But I do believe it is easier for women to alienate men due to the imbalance in legal systems and social norms. How often we hear of men fighting for 50/50 and seeing that as a win, and how women are encouraged to "get the house, get the money, and get the kids!".. as if kids were a poss… | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/04/20 10:09 PM
She's manipulating the kids and I am starting to see them changeI think hidden or open cameras could come off as creepy - even though it's for protection- since they could be recording all the time. But I have my phone on me and it records what I can hear. Comes off as less creepy and intrusive. Not just verifying if it's illegal or not, did the lawyer (I assume divorce lawyer) tell you if it was a good idea? Just because it's legal, it may not put you in the best position when it comes to your legal case. | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/04/20 10:00 PM
She's manipulating the kids and I am starting to see them changeFalse allegations are very prevalent in Parental Alienation stories. I belong to a few support groups and have heard stories upon stories of false allegations from other parents in other groups and conferences. The use of false allegations is a powerful and effective tool. Just the notion of the accusation already paints a black mark regardless if it is true or not. Both in the eyes of the broader social stakeholders (teachers, neighbors, coaches, classmates parents, etc) but also to the child. … | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/04/20 04:30 PM
She's manipulating the kids and I am starting to see them changeThere is a whole movement on fighting against Parental Alienation (causing children to go against the other parent through manipulation usually from the other parent which usually stems from anger/revenge and usually is increased during divorce.) It is extremely harmful to the children as well as to the targeted parent. I would recommend reading up on Amy Baker and her work. She is a leading researcher who focuses her work on this topic. I am dealing with Parental Alienation and it is so destruc… | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/04/20 03:58 PM
She's manipulating the kids and I am starting to see them changeWow, I never heard of the Duluth Model. It seems to paint a one-sided framework on men's domestic violence against women. Is there a counterpart framework that explains women's abuse/violence against men? Without it, it really paints a one-sided picture which is what propagates and minimizes and hides under the rug the domestic abuse towards men. Are you sharing so he is aware how to defend himself against accusations of domestic violence towards her? | /r/Divorce_Men | 09/04/20 03:56 PM
