You can love other people, not just women. I know what it feels like to be lonely, but don't wait to love until you have a woman. Love your friends, love your family. I know it's not the same as romantic love, but you'd be surprised how good it feels to share platonic love.

This is exactly it. Well said.

I’ll be 25 this year and I’m always mistaken for being way younger. I don’t wear heavy makeup and I moisturize daily. I think that helps my skin remain healthy. Also, at 24 my life has never been better. I have more money, a wonderful job, I’m pursuing my education, I travel when I want, etc. Life is what you make of it. Has nothing to do with age.

No. It grosses me out and makes me want to stay far away from him.

Same!! I hate my own voice in recordings, but other people have said my voice is very nice. I’m sure yours is the same. It just sounds weird to our own ears.

Speaking as a woman, 24f, I find men with good personalities attractive. Guys who are gentle, have a good sense of humor, and can have a nice conversation are the absolute best. Facial hair is also very attractive to me. And eye contact. And when they use my name….

Men know within 6 months if they want a future with you. And here she is 7 years later. Men are actually pretty transparent and honest. We need to walk in the light of the truth and see these signs for what they are, not what we want them to be.

Same. Men I wouldn’t normally find attractive are suddenly very attractive.

He wants to get married, and I would like to marry also, but I’m not sure if I’d like to marry him. He said he wants to propose within the next two years and I told him please don’t because I’m not near ready for that.

Thank you for this insightful comment. We’ve discussed the finances. We’re going to split everything. He’s currently working, but I’ll make more money than him with this job. I know I can save more money if I live by myself. I do eventually want to get married, but he wants to get married within the next couple of years. He’s told me so. He said he plans to propose to me. I told him please don’t yet because I’m not ready.

This is goals right here. The thing is, I eventually do want to get married, but not for many years from now! And he’d like to get married within the next two years or so, he’s told me.

I’ll never forget when I started dating my now ex boyfriend and we were talking about sex. And he said to me, “we never have to have sex again, if you don’t want. That’s not why I’m with you.” It was shocking because the boyfriend before him was constantly focused on sex. When we’d meet, that’s the first thing that would happen. But with this guy, we’d enjoy each other’s company, we’d cook together, travel somewhere for the day, do a fun activity, etc. and maybe have sex at the end. That was not…

You said it. I have several younger sisters and I’m terrified for them. Statistically something is going to happen to some, if not all, of them. Breaks my heart. All I can do is educate them and encourage them to be strong women of value.

Right, because they don't disrespect women they truly love.

We get it, I think. Shallon Lester has an amazing quote and it goes something like this, "men lie to us, but not as much as we lie to ourselves." If we took their actions and words for what they were, we would see the writing on the wall.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/12/21 04:11 AM

Absolutely. So let that drive you to make good decisions in the future. You've got this, babe.

Right. HVM will quickly make it known they want you, lest someone else gets you first. They wouldn't leave you guessing. A LVM like this really doesn't give a shit.

Happened to me and I am still recovering. He was perfectly fine. But I was left with deep trauma that I am still working through. I’m dating again and I am extremely cautious. My well meaning mother said I will scare men off because I’m not very nice. I don’t give a shit about being nice. I have to protect myself. It is my duty to my inner woman.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/12/21 02:59 AM

Exactly!!! For us women, it’s a heart thing. For them, it’s their dick. They will do and say whatever they need to in order to get sex. It’s disgusting and depraved.

She knows something isn’t right. That’s why she’s on the sub. Deep down, women know. I wish we would listen to our intuitions more.

She’ll be posting on the same sub in a few years, “husband won’t help with children, has cheated but we worked through it” the usual

You said it. To her, that’s her boyfriend. To him, she’s just the placeholder, the source of sex until something better comes along. Hurts my heart to know so many women experience this.
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy06/12/21 02:18 AM

Right. And he clearly doesn’t give a shit about her anyway. Why does she think he’d even care.

True. But yet another case of how the FWB thing only benefits the man.

Yes, I see those types of posts and they're terrifying. Makes me want to never get married. People (men) change so fast. I have known several bad ones and I really just want to find a good one. But how can you know what will happen in the future with him?
/r/FemaleDatingStrategy30/11/21 01:19 AM

Thank you for this comment. I asked him on one of our first dates if he would prefer dating a woman closer to his age and he said that he would if he was interested in someone closer to his age, but he was only interested in me. I notice that I haven't let my guard down fully with him and I am trying to listen to that. There's a reason for that resistance.

This is a great point. He works and is pursuing his PhD. We do have some things in common, but he will be 30 soon. And that seems incredibly old to me. I'm a fresh 23! He's at the stage where he wants to settle down and start a family soon. I am not ready for that. I want to travel more and establish my career before committing to a family and children. This is definitely a potential problem, I think. I want a family eventually, but not in the next 5 years like he does.

Oh I see. That makes sense. I appreciate the restrictions that go into posting/commenting on this sub. So not just anyone can post. I joined over a year ago and I still have a throwaway flair. It's truly a safe space for women.

I am not able to see all the comments on this post. Is there a reason for that?

Would you mind explaining why this is a red flag? I want to be aware of any potential dangers here.

Absolutely! Love this post. I’ll never forget when I took up running and proudly told my now ex boyfriend that I could run 3 miles in an hour. I felt so accomplished to do this as a beginner! He coldly said, “yeah, I doubt that.” Disgusting LVM.

Yeah, I struggle with the same thing. I’ve started asking myself, “do you really like this, or is this just attention your dad never gave you?”

Thank you for your reply. I didn’t want any sort of longterm thing. I told him I simply wanted to date him monogamously and consider him my boyfriend.

So he’s been practicing on me. I hate that because he’s such a good actor. It seems really genuine sometimes. I feel so sickened by this.....
