Flat out, no. With loans, yes. Especially my married military friends.

I agree with you. The only people who are loved close enough to define as unconditionally are young children. Then it varies when they get older and if they do some inhumane stuff lol

For the life of me, I truly can’t put myself in the mindset to where I would try that. I’m also childfree so maybe that’s why. Please watch this hahah

I just found out about that today and the memes/TikToks my friends have been sending me are gold.

Top half is my dad 100000%. This is a question for men but just had to say this is what I think of when people ask to define HVM. He’s generous and kind but definitely not a push over.

I mean, isn’t this what they do in dystopian movies? Save the important kid, warrior, the legend they’ve been waiting for and people sacrifice themselves for them?

Disney has truly been working overtime on hitting our emotions.

How dare you, I immediately heard in my head is “I am ready Fantine” and now I’m ready to have my heartbroken by that scene again 😭😭. I love that he was crying but I wish they cried together.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/22 03:31 PM
6

It’s crazy because no matter how many times we watch certain scenes, it still hurts right in the feels. The last time I cried during a movie was Disney’s encanto- right at the end. I wasn’t bawling but I definitely got choked up and shed a strong 20-30 tears. 😂
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/22 03:18 PM

Honestly. Truly. My ex called that my crying movie. If I had bottled up emotions, I would watch that movie, cry then feel better 😂😂

Are you crying because your loved one died (human or 4 legged), birth of a baby, Jean Valjean’s death in Les Miserables, love scenes in Kdramas?? Or are you crying because a waitress at a restaurant gave you ranch instead of blue cheese? One implies strong emotions, the other is based on minor inconvenience. If you didn’t cry when your dog died, I would 100% think something is wrong with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate13/01/22 01:58 PM

Definitely agree to that! Thanks for expanding
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 09:18 PM

Good to know. Thank you for asking. What do you consider high maintenance?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 08:44 PM

Sure, but I would imagine former doesn’t include the latter. Or am I thinking about it incorrectly?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 08:42 PM

Yikes. Okay I’ve definitely been reading into this wrong. I truly thought people meant the former excluding the latter.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 08:41 PM

Does your personal definition of agreeableness mean the tendency to be compassionate and cooperative, rather than suspicious and antagonistic towards others. Good-natured, cooperative, and trusting. or Compromising their own interests for those of others. Saying yes when they do not agree ?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 07:59 PM

It seems rare in the US too. I don’t know many people who have them in my personal life.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 06:40 PM

Bahahah fair point, indeed
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 06:40 PM

Haha that’s fair
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 06:33 PM

I don’t understand how people could still be dirty after using a bidet. Maybe there’s a learning curve?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 06:32 PM

I compost in my apartment! I work with an organization that drops off and picks up compost bucket every other week. I love that I’m taking out my trash less and not worrying about smells! That’s unfortunate that you would have to drive to recycling centers.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 06:28 PM

Also a viable option. I usually do the plastic bags for small trash cans. Thanks for sharing.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 06:25 PM

Interesting, I’m glad you’ve found something that works. It seems counterintuitive to me but I am focused on the env standpoint
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 06:00 PM

Sweet. Thanks for answering!
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 05:51 PM

Do you consider yourself clean after using toilet paper?
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 05:47 PM

That’s awesome. When I got seriously into composting coupled with recycling, I felt like my overall expenses came way down. Probably because I was trying to be more intentional.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 05:03 PM

I didn’t think so but maybe they just have better quality, who knows.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 05:01 PM

Interesting. Didn’t think it would be possible. I’m glad you found something that worked for you
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 05:00 PM

I originally was using wet wipes but then once I realized the efficiency of bidets (and got over the initial 🤯) it was golden
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 04:58 PM

Since the bidet would make the area wet, i feel like toilet paper would just crumble. Unless the bidet had a drying function THEN toilet paper
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 04:55 PM

Hooray for another user! Thanks for answering.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 04:54 PM

That’s actually when I got into it as well! Turned out to be the right move for me. I have so many sets of cleaning towels, kitchen towels, and cloth napkins 😭
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 04:53 PM

No, you use a bidet then dry with the towel.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 04:52 PM

Thanks for answering !
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 04:50 PM

Thanks for answering!!
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 04:46 PM

I didn’t know composting was the law in Cali, interesting!
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 04:45 PM

Same! Definitely team disposable for feminine care. I was chatting to a man about how I organize my household and he said this seemed high maintenance which was confusing to me.
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 04:44 PM

LOL. Once you’re done using the bidet, there shouldn’t be anything left. But thanks for answering !
/r/PurplePillDebate12/01/22 04:43 PM

Do you consider this to be high maintenance? Using reusable towels instead of paper towels to clean Using a bidet and reusable drying towels instead of toilet paper Composting and recycling Reducing single use plastic buys by grocery shopping with tote bags and decreasing the amount of frequent online shopping Regardless of your 1st answer, would you agree to your home operating that way? EDIT: Thank you for your replies! I see that most people aren’t down with a bidet but varied levels of this.…

On PPD, I’ve read about sons raised by single mothers, the importance of fathers being in their daughters lives, but what I haven’t seen a lot about is the relationship between mothers and sons in a nuclear family structure. Wondering if that’s just a talking point that I haven’t seen, or is there not much discussion about it?

Oh yes, that’s a great point. I definitely noticed that I was extra loving to the men in my life because I was so happy I wasn’t going through it like some posts I’ve read

This. I liked men before I came to this sub and I was interested in learning about how men and women feel about each other in general. After a few days when I first joined, I had to take a long break from this sub because I was disillusioned with the amount of hate I seeing and it was bleeding into reality. Obviously I feel better now but as a woman who likes men, has great relationships with some men in reality, some of this stuff was SUPER hard to read. Not because I feel that it applies to me…

29F. Then they’re in the right order for best looking. facial hair > shaved. I say that because it matches your eyebrows nicely and the shaved facial hair picture makes them look harsh. Also makes your skin look clear and your lips more accentuated.

I’m having a hard time trying to find a childfree man, preferably one with a vasectomy. Most men I’m meeting that tick my boxes are always so surprised that I don’t want kids because I’m “so kind and nurturing”

I’d consider it to be normal. I have full lips and yes I do prefer to date men that have some fullness to their lips or kissing is a turn off. EDIT: Yes, women care about certain features on men’s faces. Some of us to excruciating detail, others not so much.

Looks: -Clean cut, period. This could be locs, fades, fros, etc. Don’t let your hair look crazy and keep up your hair care regimen. -Facial hair, see above. -Take care of your skin and wear sunscreen. -Wear clothes that fit, but not skinny jeans. Straight cut pants and jeans, clean shoes that aren’t all sneakers, and shirts that aren’t just graphic tees. Slimmer fit that shows off your body shape while in movement. Possibly controversial, don’t be fat. Personality: -Be kind whenever possible. Op…

Sorry to hear that. Definitely can confirm on the stares. I find that I have to be more engaging for some men to know that Im attracted and/or interested in them and it’s okay for them to hit on me.

I’m a black woman. I know plenty of black men who are in sole pursuit of white or Asian (specifically Japanese, bc anime 🤢) women

Unfortunately, I have to agree.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/21 11:52 PM

No. I think it’s fair AF. Especially if you’re not that yourself. It’s annoying to me the types of things that are attributed to “blackness” that make all of us look bad by association (skin tone).
/r/PurplePillDebate31/12/21 11:18 PM
21

As a black woman, I find that it’s a class boundary that is usually more prevalent than racial. And weight. I hear more honest revelations about men liking black women only if they’re not ghetto/ratchet. Same thing with not liking them as a whole because of being overweight or not liking thick women in general. Since I’m not “ratchet” or fat, I usually only have to worry about their parents being racists. EDIT: I’ve dated black, white and Latino men.

Exactly lol. Cannot relate

1000000000% agree. Cliche but it really is self care and helps people show up as their best selves which ultimately can enhance the happiness and longevity of a marriage.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/21 05:26 PM
3

Yes, they do! Marriage is seen as the destination instead of just another path that life could take people on. Everything in life requires work, marriage is the same. Personally, I think people see fitness as the gateway into a relationship which is exactly what I want to avoid.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/21 04:54 PM
3

Exactly! I think it’s unrealistic and unfair that people refuse to consider that marriage has a large element of duty/responsibility. People tend to romanticize marriages to their doom because they think “love” is enough… uhh no it ain’t lol. I think having some form of written communication in the beginning will definitely lead to less resentment in the long run because it will encourage people to talk about the things that they need to stay in a loving and committed relationship.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/21 04:22 PM

I was actually expecting to be downvoted for it because I usually am in real life 😭. Glad somebody agrees with me. Gaining excess weight in older ages has been proven to be more difficult to lose. Since I know I don’t want kids, I would expect my partner to do their part to try to stay attractive for me as I will for them. Being fit/active is a lifestyle that comes naturally for me so I imagine having it in a prenup would not be a big deal for someone who lives that lifestyle already.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/21 04:12 PM
4

I’m childfree and a woman. I plan on asking for one but I also want to include clauses about setting weight gain limits, steps that must be taken for a variety of situations before divorce, etc.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/12/21 04:02 PM

This is the answer.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/12/21 01:00 AM

You’re speaking my language!! This is exactly how I feel and operate. As much as people don’t like the terminology, we need to bring back business style communication into relationships. It’s an investment and a partnership that needs to have good terms for both parties. If the parties can’t come up with good terms, no point in doing business
/r/PurplePillDebate16/10/21 01:54 AM
2

I agree. I’m one of those people that bring up taboo conversations early because more than anything, I hate wasting my time

I agree. Im wondering if OP was already following this regimen or if she did it in hopes to get or keep her partner. It would be exhausting to have to be someone who I am not. I currently don’t wear a ton of makeup- my eyebrows are microbladed and I get lash lifts so I’m a mascara and lips type of gal. My skincare routine is 3 step process every morning and night plus steaming masks every few days. I used to wear foundation but I got serious about my skincare, now I only need concealer for a few…

I….we literally agree with each other. I said I love people conditionally
/r/PurplePillDebate14/10/21 05:19 PM
23

I agree. I love people conditionally- my parents, friends, partners. There is no good reason to love people unconditionally because it allows them free reign to treat you however they choose, not within the boundaries of what you allow.

I think happiness could potentially come from others, yes but peace is internal. I think of happiness as a temporary emotion while peace is a state of being. My every day life is peaceful, full of gratitude etc and I would think to myself that I am happy. I’ve also had bad days where I wasn’t happy but still peaceful and full of gratitude. This falls into my relationships, people can add or subtract to my happiness but I don’t think I’ve ever had someone add or subtract to my peace.

Anecdotal, but black woman here. I’ve always had the small waist and flatter stomach. But when I was a thicker, curvier but still hourglass size 8-10, black men loved me but non-black men (or those who weren’t adjacent/identify with black-ish culture) didn’t as much. Now that I’m currently a fit hourglass size 6, stereotypical black men don’t like me but every single other man does. Not sure what it means but here we are.
