Thank you very much. I will say that to my husband's credit, it has been 3 years since I left. 6 months ago, when my father passed, my husband finally decided to get sober, seek treatment, find employment, and choose to live in the light instead of the darkness. Slowly, we are rebuilding. We still live apart, but there is a twinkle of hope.

I married my fundamental Christian husband who was a virgin hiding a porn addiction over 20 years ago. I naively thought that all men watched porn, and that it wasn't really an issue. He didn't tell me it was an issue, until after we married. Our wedding night was like opening Pandora's Box. Not a virgin myself, I thought that having sex for the first time would cement our relationship and make us feel closer than ever before. I felt like a blow up doll. That was the only time we had sex on our …

There is sperm in pre cum as well which will enter the vaginal canal and possibly find an egg. I'm not just bathing this on a personal story. I worked at a Women's Center. The pullout method combined with following your monthly cycle and taking temperatures is a form of birth control, just not a very effective one. If you are okay with the higher possibility of becoming pregnant, then that's okay. OP is talking about having her boyfriend have surgery, so it seems like she is very serious about n…

That's a very good way to have a baby. Every woman in my family is very fertile. We all got pregnant while on birth control. Unless you are comfortable with the possibility of getting pregnant, I would look for a more predictable method.

And you are totally right! They are lovable people. The way media and movies portray addicts is false. They do show them as being charismatic, which is true, because most addicts are narcissists. Addicts are also capable of amazing qualities that make them very lovable. I think that is why I still haven't been able to pull the trigger to divorce my husband. He is a porn and sex addict, so his betrayals have cut to the core of our marriage. I still love him with all of my heart even though I know…

Is this your first adult relationship? Have you fallen in love before? Do you have another relationship to compare this to? It's totally okay if you haven't. It just makes it more difficult to identify red flags. Were the two of you friends before your relationship? Going on dates isn't a prerequisite for a relationship, but courting is. A man does not need to spend money to show a woman that he is interested in her or that he cares about her. I would take a nice card over a 5 star dinner always…

I have been married to an addict for 20 years. What I wish I had done in the beginning, which I am finally doing now that we are seperated is the following: 1. Get into private counseling for yourself 2. Get him into private counseling 3. Have him start Narcotics Anonymous 4. Have him get a sponsor 5. Look into rehab 6. Let him know that you have no intentions of being in a marriage with an active drug user. You are his wife and you will support him in quitting, but you will not stay if he conti…

I don't understand how encouraging a person to lose weight for health and for themselves and not to please others is breaking any rules. This is not a feminist statement. It is a statement of fact that when you do anything for yourself and not for others you will have a better outcome. I believe in a traditional family with two parents, ideally with one parent staying home and raising children. I am also a liberal feminist. I believe that the roles of husband/father and wife/mother are the most …

That's very profound. You have great emotional intelligence. Just because you love someone doesn't mean you should be with them. I don't want to give you false hope, but maybe breaking up will give him a wake up call that the changes that need to be made are by him. He may take the time and space to do some self reflection. In a couple of years, he may mature into the man you deserve. He may not. You should be enjoying yourself, enriching your life, and learning to love yourself in the meantime.…

If that's the case, then the actual work required for a woman if 100 hours a day. I married a man with the premise of me staying home once we had children. When that happened, my husband, an MBA, lost his job. I got a job to maintain our lifestyle, with the expectation that he would take care of my home duties since I was working 70 hours a week with my college degree, and a much lower earning potential. No such luck. I was still responsible for all of the housework, child tearing, carpool, meal…

Trust me, I've been there. Your instincts are good. You are so young. I got married at 27, and now I realize that I shouldn't have even considered it until I was in my 30's. Right now, you should date a lot of different types of men and see who brings out the best in you. Clearly, this man doesn't. I enjoy being with men who have different views than me because I love to debate. It helps me clarify my views. I'm also able to agree to disagree. My son, on the other hand, is a die hard liberal, wh…

Honey, you are 20. You are young. You have your whole life in front of you. This is not the time to settle. This is the time to live! And no, you should not change yourself to please the man you are with to make him love you. That is not love. You need to find a man who loves you as you are, not what they can turn you into. You are not a rusted old car that some man needs to change, clean up, polish, and turn into something worth taking out. Your ideas, beliefs, passions, and interests are what …

I gave every man that was kind and brave enough to ask me out two dates, excluding obvious drug addicts, gang members or men who were safety concerns. It did not matter what they looked like, where we were going, whether I was attracted to them, how much money they made, how old they were, anything. I figured that if they could come up to me, then why wouldn't I spend time and learn more about them. As for the 2nd date, I figured that everyone gets nervous, Lord knows I do, so why not? I will sa…

Being open and direct is vital. They have no idea what we want because all women are different. If you don't know, then you need some valuable "me time.". Also, find something that makes you feel beautiful and sexy. It doesn't have to be lingerie. Foreplay begins early in the day from doing something nice for each other, wearing a nice matching bra and panty set, having a nice meal and conversation... Do things that will get you in the mood long before you enter into the bedroom. Ask him to help…

I wonder the same thing. I was in a seedless marriage for 20 years with a sex addict who abused pornography and prostitutes instead of enjoying a physical relationship with me. At most, we were intimate 3 times a year. Now, I'm in a relationship (3 years) with a man I am extremely sexually comparable with. He, like me, had been abstinet for a very long time (10 years). We have sex typically 5-6 days a week, usually once or twice a day. I am 48, and he is 52. I am not comfortable with my body, bu…
