Nah you right, I misread that as "..men don't actually want women who are attracted to women". My bad.

Idk, does the erotica industry have a history of exploitation and been studied to have a negative impact on people's opinions of each other? Okay, but I thought we were discussing the hypothetical woman that you conjured who watches lesbian porn?
/r/PurplePillDebate19/10/24 09:41 PM

Porn is its own set of issues and problems, but if I knew a woman watched lesbian porn I'd assume she had a sexual attraction to women, or is that not how the math works?

Romance and Sci-fi horror are two very different genres with very different premises; the examples you gave are of a deliberately erotic book with scenes that could very well be inspired by life, while fans of RE have taken it upon themselves to sexualize the character who could never physically exist. I agree that fiction shouldn't influence attraction, in a time heavily influenced by unrealistic beauty and dating standards from the media, that's what people aim for.

"older" is an entirely subjective term, a 30 year old man is not an older man to a 34 year old woman, and the age gap between a 36 year old and a 30 year old is different than one of a 26 year old and 18 year old. I think you need serious help, or at least to take yourself as seriously as you want others to see you. You're not actually refuting what I've said; whether it's about providing men or at least getting money from them- you're pro exploitation and have fallen so deep into patriarchal pa…

Just got the record, are you willing to provide an age at which women should start dating older men or are you satisfied believing that every predator should have a full belly and every woman can be whored out?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 12:35 PM

In encouraging older men to seek younger women. Surely a one or two year gap isn't enough to confer a level of success that would be appropriate for dating. And at what age are you suggesting that women start this? If they start dating average men they're not likely to stop, so you must mean for them to start their dating lives with older men- what age does that begin?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 12:15 PM

As long as we're on the same page about you encouraging predatory behaviour I think that's all there is to it.
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 12:07 PM

So you're saying that young men should build themselves until their thirties and then go back and seek out younger women to make up for the time lost while they were undesirable?
/r/PurplePillDebate10/10/24 12:03 PM

The worst part of all this is a lot of times people will stay with their abusers because they don't have it in them to distance themselves from familiarity even if it's killing them.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/08/24 12:41 PM

Yes, but only if they have a healthy view of the other person and can hold space for the individual instead of viewing them as a caricature of their gender. The key to empathy is being able to let others show you who they are and responding to the needs they put forth; as soon as we assume to know what they need as a man or a woman, we close ourselves to being in that experience. Having healthy relationships and connections with people of both (and all) genders is a game changer.
/r/PurplePillDebate24/08/24 02:55 PM
2

Because women expect to be able to confide in their men, but many men have experienced being shamed by their partners for being vulnerable with them.
/r/PurplePillDebate21/08/24 08:40 PM

Before I respond to the rest of it, what of what I said makes you think I don't understand why a woman would regard sex as a corrosive act which knocks shine off her value?
/r/PurplePillDebate15/08/24 03:05 PM

Please accept that what people are saying is their lived experience and the reality they have been subject to. I too was raised this way and the rhetoric from my female friends and feminist media for two decades was very much that sex is an act of labour that women perform as an act of relationship maintenance. The male gaze and male power fantasy have nothing to do with mutual attraction and place all shame on the very concept of male desire. Yes, mutual attraction is safe, but if I was attract…

All I'm saying is "people who only sleep with those they want a relationship with" is a different qualifier than "people who don't lack impulse control".
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 07:21 PM

Women want a man who's a charming, suabe player, but only has eyes for them.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 07:08 PM

If someone does not have strong sexual impulses, their sex life isn't a good indication of their self control. If someone has been turned down more than they've been given consent, their sex life is not a good indication of impulse control. There are so many other things people indulge in that show a lack of control; if you and your partner can enjoy slut shaming together, I'm happy for you.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 07:01 PM

LMAO, what am I doing? You're just gonna continue projecting and there's no way for me to impart to you that you can't quantify impulse control based on one aspect of someone's life. Your mindset is the reason why people lie about their experiences to partners they're actually interested in. It's good to see you've been on the receiving end of honesty though.

People who have casual sex can't be selective about who they're having sex with?
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 06:44 PM

This is, in fact, slut shaming. You can seek a partner with similar values without attributing it to a lack of impulse control.
/r/PurplePillDebate02/08/24 06:41 PM

A world without slut shaming would be amazing, but it needs to be approached from a gender equitable perspective if we want it to actually change. Slut shaming is perpetuated by men and women jealous of the sex that others are having. We often relegate it to insecure men shaming women, but women claiming that men's sexual appetites is a sign of disrespect is also a form of slut shaming, and pushes men to slut shame those women to reaffirm their own respectability.

What makes the discussion on sex work unique though is that the industry is populated by people who are diametrically opposed to their customers. The same women making onlyfans content will use their personal platforms to devalue men's sexuality, and attack the male gaze and male power fantasy as manifestations of perversion. Meanwhile, if men weren't so depraved and horny then there'd be no demand for the services being offered, since their behaviour would be compatible with healthy sexual desi…

Sorry I didn't get those quotes notarized when I was a teenager. But do you think you've demonstrated the empathy that would encourage a stranger on the internet to be vulnerable with you about that? There's enough media on tv tropes that I could just bullshit and copy paste an example for you.

Virgin shaming is as real as slut shaming, and a Google search should yield enough results to convince this isn't an isolated phenomenon. As a shy virgin, I was shamed and made fun of for being a virgin. As someone with a body count under 10, I was told I didn't I have enough experience and made fun of. I would absolutely say that my experiences are tempered by growing up with suburbanites with nothing better to do than act like jersey shore and bad girls club extras, and as I've gotten older mo…
/r/PurplePillDebate01/08/24 04:34 PM

It doesn't, but it's rare to see people be unrepentantly ableist even on reddit. No dice here though, seeing as this is a neurotypical incel which is also odd.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/07/24 02:05 PM

Yes, this is why neurodivergent people struggle with dating in ways neurotypical people don't.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 05:42 PM

This overlooks the reality that there is no prescription to human behaviour. Sometimes the answer is you gotta move to a different city and find people that are actually compatible with you, it doesn't mean that what you were doing before was "wrong".

This is gaslighting in the same way that suggesting a woman simply needs to choose better partners and dress more appropriately in order to be treated with respect. Even if the issue lies with OP, what you're saying doesn't address what they're going through, or acknowledge the need they've presented- you're telling them to bash their head against the same door that they've already told you leads to nowhere.
/r/PurplePillDebate29/07/24 02:54 PM

"Women who make good partners don’t tolerate shitty behavior from men." This isn't incorrect, but it does shrink the dating pool significantly

And you think the only way someone can feel valued or found desirable is by being recognized as hot? I know they just did a mean girls reboot, but this is ridiculous.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 09:21 PM
3

Girl, what are you talking about? What does the price of meth in West Virginia have to do with love in LA? Why do you think that feeling hot is the only alternative to feeling shame? Why is your entire stance on this rooted on being hot rather than acknowledging that people are dtf regardless of how objectively "hot" or "ugly" their partner is?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 09:16 PM
3

The lengths you'll go to define how someone else should experience and define their emotions is amazing. None of this has anything to do with being physically attractive, people who think they're ugly have sex all the time. And I'd argue that blowing smoke up your partner's ass is a key part of being in joyful intimacy with someone. Sorry you don't relate to the experience of having someone who thinks the world of you and speaks on it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 08:59 PM
3

Why not? If a cup of tea in a room full of Pepsi bottles can be described as lonely, why can't the same be said of a solitary man surrounded by people sharing in intimacy?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 08:11 PM
1

This is a great start, but without figuring out what's going on with the other 16% of the population this is just saying "every one else is fine enough that we can ignore this." In a population of 333.3 million, that's still 53.3 million men and women whos needs are unmet and exploitable.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 08:07 PM

Sex is an emotional/social need and science backs that up, both in humans and lower animals.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 03:20 PM

Okay, and you're saying that everyone outside of the exponential minority of homoromantic asexuals can change their sexuality or has the same needs as them?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 03:12 PM

Nah sis, you just don't wanna admit that gay people are defined by homosexuality, which is defined by two people of the same sex having sex with each other. My point is right on track, while you try to bring racism into it without even bothering to reach for interracial relationships like this entire conversation isn't about sex. Thanks for playing, though.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 03:05 PM

That's literally the only identifier you provided. I'm just tryna figure out what makes a person gay. Is it being a sex crazed predator that would help you identify some one is gay?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 02:59 PM
2

So you're saying people with the wrong skin tone are gay?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 02:57 PM
3

I see how you leapt to that conclusion, but my path didn't take you there. People were killed because they were hated for who they were having sex with. And even if I did mention gay rights, who are gay rights for? Do people having straight sex need gay rights? Are gay rights for aquarium owners? Or maybe gay rights are for people who like pineapple on pizza? Please help me understand, what is the demographic for gay rights?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 02:49 PM

You think being gay is about anything but the people you have sex and share intimacy with?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 02:03 PM

okay, but I didn't ask that either. Point being that it can be hard to find people to share in enjoyment with. "You don't enjoy your friends?" Not everything can be enjoyed with everyone and that's where loneliness comes in despite having friends or family present. A beekeeper with no one to share their love of bees with would not be wrong in saying they're lonely. If skydiving is a big deal to me and none of my friends or even my partner do, I could say I'm lonely despite the fulfillment in eve…

Sex isn't a need, but you have LGBTQ friends? Yeah, people died so that they could watch movies together and wear the clothes they want. Homosexuality had nothing to do with it.

/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 01:47 PM

So people aren't allowed to determine whether or not they're enjoying the act of being with others just because they're with others?

/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 01:34 PM

You're allowed to be sexually queer while cis gendered, but some people identify as genderqueer; which is the opposite of being cis. And again, why does their experience with loneliness trigger you to redefine it?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 01:27 PM

If they say they're lonely, I'd believe them. They're also allowed to be horny and lonely at the same time. How did I misuse queer and cis?

People having meaningless sex aren't allowed to say they feel lonely?

/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 01:07 PM

Real question, why does my experience with loneliness trigger you to deny and redefine it?
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 12:59 PM

Just so you're aware, it's possible to be lonely or feel isolated while surrounded by people. I'm glad you've been privileged enough that you haven't experienced it.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 12:53 PM
1

Even if it is "just being horny", that doesn't make it any less valid of an emotion.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 12:26 PM
12

I'm sorry that the only romantic desire and attraction you've experienced can be reduced to sex. And even if it is "just being horny", that's still a valid emotional need.
/r/PurplePillDebate25/07/24 12:08 PM
28

Can we please stop pretending that friendship provides the same validation as being found romantically or sexually desirable? Especially for millennials and Gen Z who were taught to feel shame in their bodies, a friendship simply cannot validate or even hold the parts of me that aren't for it. Like giving a dog vegan food, yes I'm eating and can feel full off of this, but ultimately can't fulfill my dietary needs and the value of steak increases as my deficit deepens.

Claiming ownership is always the first part of ownership. I don't have to care about women being killed over ownership in order to see how it impacts the social dynamics around it. Yes, ownership can be taken to damaging and horrible places; you're finally grasping what it is to have a holistic view of the situation. Touching grass wasn't the part of the assignment that was meant to have an impact on you, but evidently your reading comprehension and empathy are lacking so I'll just leave you to …

This may come as a shock to you, but the social constructs of dating, the pill, and sexuality are all directly tied to the things I've mentioned. You can be obtuse as you want and say things like "nobody has "ownership" over somebody else's sexuality" like it's not something women are killed over every day. Go outside. Touch grass. Get scratched by a feral animal and realize that the problems in this world exist because not everyone is as privileged as you.
/r/PurplePillDebate20/07/24 01:43 AM

No, but that doesn't change the fact that men out there are, and have voiced that opinion multiple times. A large part of many relationships is a sense of ownership of your partner's sexuality, which shows up in the way people act with nudes (they're for you, but you don't actually own them), insecurities around porn, and disgust at previous experiences while seeking to reenact them. Both men and women experience those things. The only reason this can't be directly mirrored from the female persp…

A better question would be, given the circumstances why would men be secure? Women are always saying that men are easy, replaceable, and subject to being replaced by someone who does more, earns more, or is "willing to do the things he won't".
/r/PurplePillDebate19/07/24 11:15 PM

The only way to actually hold men accountable is to hold everyone accountable. Stop defending them. Stop hanging out with them. Stop fucking them. Stop dating them. It doesn't matter how many times a man is held accountable by other men if he can go out and find women who are genuinely attracted to his disrespectful behaviours.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 07:23 PM

This isn't just red pill, any paradigm tainted by western gender construct will have some variation of this. Folks love saying men are easy and that male bodies have no value.
/r/PurplePillDebate17/07/24 07:17 PM
2

It's very easy to value intimacy and sex over dignity, community, or even safety. This coupled with the societal devaluing of males and means that many men operate from a place of scarcity when it comes to fulfillment of those needs.
/r/PurplePillDebate31/05/24 02:25 PM

"Decency" is a social construct. Many men were raised with some level of respectability politics which informs how they interact with women and what they were told is decent. Assuming we all have the same standard of decency only serves to validate abusers.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/05/24 02:31 PM

/r/PurplePillDebate12/04/24 11:00 AM

Not only is there no way to know this, but the generalization you made previously stands in defiance to this statement. Are you saying that it's up to the listener to determine whether or not they're included in the speaker's disdain of men?
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:58 PM

Yeah, there's no denying that women are shamed for sex, but women have no accountability towards the ways they shame men. Women want to profit off of porn, but shame men for the male gaze. Women want to profit off of sex work, but shame men for the male power fantasy. Women want casual sex, but shame men who are only interested in sexual relationships. Women want to be sluts without being disrespected, but will go on to say that all men are easy and they can go out and get dick any time they wan…
/r/PurplePillDebate11/04/24 05:27 PM

Yeah, it's called trauma, and no one wants to recognize it. The context in which men have been given to develop is by large a negative one. From an early age, I was exposed to the concept that men are trash, that my physical form is the embodiment of violence and defilement, and that if I was not acting to address the iniquities of other men I existed without consent. These beliefs have been reinforced even into adulthood, through my exposure to violence, abuse, and other's trauma. I personally find it difficult to multidate.because of my own social bandwidth, but I've accepted it as part of the times we live in. I don't assume exclusivity, and only deal with women who not only make me happy but also respect the labour I bring to the table (emotional labour, aftercare, paying for dates, random favours etc). If we aren't in an exclusive relationship, I refuse to be the one exclusively called for help.

Girls under 30 are looking for a man they can use to increase their own standing, women who've already matured are looking for men who they enjoy being around. That's why dating as a young man is fucked, because until I got my first grey hair they were always "just looking for someone a little older"; but there's no age restriction on being called for emotional labour or trauma relief.

There's a lot of shame towards male masculinity and it all comes from feminist leaning movements. I can't remember where I first heard men are trash, or men's bodies have no value- but it's been repeated to me enough that I've learned the lesson that's how women view men (as characterized by male bodies). I know that in my large male body, I'm more likely to be seen as aggressive or loud, and both out of deference to women (whom I passively antagonize by existing as a male) and for my safety, I …

Because despite how any one feels about themselves, as social creatures our experiences are impacted by the views of the societies we participate in. People care about how they are perceived because it affects how they're treated, regardless of whether sex is in the equation or not.

Vasectomies are cool and should be more easily accessible. Suggesting them as a retaliatory response to control male bodies is not only hypocritical but also shows that the focus is less on liberation or equity and more on the power struggle between men and women in the patriarchy.

People always have these conversations without acknowledging that women who didn't feel they had access to sex work shamed the shit out of anyone who did. Sex work in its current form is built on the male gaze and caters to male power fantasy; we're not even talking about paying for sex, we're paying for the right to sexualize a woman's body. Sexual liberation isn't attainable if only a select few are free to capitalize on their sexuality.
