Everyone wins except the childrenKids are not smart. kids are not versatile. Kids are not whatever stupid word people keep making up. They need a father and they need a mother. We have statistics that prove that a normal family improves children's lives and I am sick and tired of people saying that my kids will just bounce back from this. They are messed up from even the month they have not seen me and it will only get worse over time. If anything adults are stupid for the dumb crap they say and try to believe to think that the… | /r/Divorce_Men | 23/07/26 03:32 AM
I'm currently laying on my 10 year old sons empty bed crying like I would if I had lost him foreverGive up. Make it her fault. She has 100% custody and the children have a father who is 100% willing to be there for them. It is her fault if they never see him. It is her fault she is abusing them. The system is against you. Hey kids I could have spent so much money I became homeless and died OR I could have said your mom can allow you to see me or not and I will always have a room for you to stay in. | /r/Divorce_Men | 18/07/26 11:09 PM
Psychological or financial prison? My ex-wife's lawyer swore on her 36 years of experience that no judge would ever sign off on me paying less than 4k+/m in child support. In less then five minutes of the pre-trial and without a lawyer myself the judge said he would sign off on me only paying her 2.5K/m. I live in the USA. The judges mostly want you to come to an agreement yourself here rather then go to trial. Her and her lawyer were full of crap and bullying me. The judge ignored her lawyer and forced her to make a deal. Not su… | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/07/26 09:45 PM
I'm currently laying on my 10 year old sons empty bed crying like I would if I had lost him foreverI got 0% custody of my kids (I have a job making good money and no record against me but my wife used the silver bullet method to win in court). I feel for you and I know exactly how you feel. For a few months before the divorce was final I was paying to see my kids for four hours a week. Two days two hours each day. When those two hours were over it was hell. I have a two bedroom apartment where I sleep in the hallway and they have bedrooms fully furnished that they have never even slept in. I … | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/07/26 09:31 PM
Be HopefulMy ex-wife told a judge that because of one conversation we had ten years ago when we first met that I all of the sudden had PTSD from the military and the judge agreed. It's absolutely insane how these issues arise for us right when it is to our wives benefit in court. | /r/Divorce_Men | 16/07/26 09:19 PM
This divorce is killing me daily and I only have myself to blame for that."I found out she had gone on Tinder a week after I left and the day after she got back from the LV trip, she slept with a guy off there." - This is a crazy red flag to me. Understandably anyone would be upset but her reaction was to go on tinder and start sleeping with random people. I think your beating yourself up a little too much. You both should have tried harder for the kids IMO. I went absolutely insane when my wife wanted a divorce. What got me back to normal? A little bit of therapy but… | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/07/26 09:57 PM
Everyone wins except the childrenThat's awesome. She sounds horrible. Really glad you got 50....sort of sounds like you should have got more to me. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/07/26 09:51 AM
Everyone wins except the childrenThe alternative was 4500+ per month and she was trying to get me to pay for tutoring and therapy and some random 3000 dollar bill she made up. She would have kept the house for 2-3 years and I could have possibly been liable for part of the mortgage which I would not be able to pay. On top of that I can say I took the high road gave her everything and she didn't let me see the kids. It's all on her when they get older and ask why they haven't seen me for years. | /r/Divorce_Men | 11/07/26 09:45 AM
Everyone wins except the childrenTrue story. TBH we had alcohol at our kids birthday parties. I mean coolers and fridges full. We all drank and my kids are very young (so not needed at all!). We both chose that lifestyle and same with her friends as well. It was what we all did but at the end of the day in court only one person gets to pay for it. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/07/26 09:29 PM
Everyone wins except the childrenNot at all. My wife used me moving back in for Christmas to see my kids against me. She said I was erratic for wanting to spend Christmas with them. Again context....her lawyer threatened my job and livelihood (I really can't get in ANY trouble or I will get fired) so I moved out for three weeks and then I put my foot down before Christmas and said you have to have police remove me or else I'm spending Christmas with my kids. Worked out until she talked to her lawyer and found this "silver bulle… | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/07/26 09:25 PM
Everyone wins except the childrenI assume your talking about custody. I would never choose less than 50% either. I fought and I lost. The child "assessor" was horrible. I kept it brief but we were supposed to have four or five meetings that lasted an hour each. He always had scheduling issues. He had audio/video issues on the calls. They lasted maybe 15 minutes each. When he came to see me with the kids (he was LATE0 I was paying 1200 dollars a month to see them for 4 hours a week. He noted in court that I was above almost ever… | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/07/26 08:34 PM

Dear Diary...Saying this as a person who doesn't like therapy. You need some therapy. For me after my divorce I luckily found a man who really clicked and helped me live without the "someone". It's an adventure of it's own but I really suggest you find a male therapist and work through your own issues and find a way to be more than happy before you start dating again. It's all going to turn out toxic if you don't. | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/07/26 01:26 AM
Do you still keep your ex pictures together? You gave back the ring? Your a different kind (in a good way). I think it's a type of person thing. I'm a romantic and just went through a messy divorce where my wife went to town on everything she could possibly say bad about me. Still love her still keep the pictures. I can't say it's healthy.....but I'm ok with it! | /r/Divorce_Men | 10/07/26 12:20 AM
Mental breakdownMy soon to be ex-wife had many lies but lead with the gun that I owned that sat in a corner with a lock on it that I never used or touched but she feared and therefore.....I lost everything. Kids, Wife, House, almost my job. She started while I was watching the kids and cooking dinner while she got drunk and went to the neighbors and told them I was a horrible father and husband complete POS. She did call the cops a few times and they said nothing was really wrong and left. She physically assaul… | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/07/26 11:22 PM
Moved from the U.S. to Australia for my wife’s family. Now she wants a divorce. Do I stay for my son or go home?Stay for your kid! I haven't seen my two for a month and it hurts! People tell me to go to another country start a new life. I'm like no! I will stay with a two bedroom apartment where I sleep in the hallway and can always say I had rooms for them and always wanted to see them and be a part of their lives. | /r/Divorce_Men | 01/07/26 09:10 PM
i messed up badHave you ever tried Smart Recovery? The Majority will be alcoholics but people go for a variety of reasons and you could benefit from some of the resources they have. There are a ton of virtual meetings. Just a suggestion. It sounds like you may have an addictive personality and anger issues to go along with it. And just to note I very much feel for you and your situation. My wife took out a protective order on me and filed for divorce. She didn't really have any real claim for the PO but I got … | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/06/26 12:27 PM
Towards male equality in divorce and standard litigation playbooks women useIt is very much in favor of women even if they just want to drag you through the mud and will not settle under any circumstances. I am waiting for our pre-trial next month. I did everything for my children and it was a pretty close 50/50 split between us. She had to have her mother move in with her to make up for me not being there. She wants 100% custody and a child assessor who saw me with the kids and even went as far as to compliment me recommended that she get 100% legal and 80% physical. I… | /r/Divorce_Men | 29/06/26 12:18 PM
This isn’t about you or your wife, this is about the law.Truth. My wife wanted a divorce and she decided to get everything she wanted she would take out a protective order and say that she feared I was going to kill her and the kids because I had a gun that sat locked in our bedroom for 10 months never fired (the magazine was also still in plastic). I have to settle and give her everything so I don't lose my job. She is getting full custody and I get no visitation with my children. 45% of my pay in child support. Use of the house for two years. Half o… | /r/Divorce_Men | 17/01/26 11:07 AM
