In my opinion, this arrangement is driving both genders crazy. But for men, as OP pointed out, it is a safety concern for men who do this. I'm a 6'2" guy who has lifted since 14 years old and knows how to box. I don't want to get into an altercation from an overprotective family member or jilted orbiter. The cold approach is off the table. It's more logical to organize a date via friend group or professional acquaintances.
