Definitely sexism. I experienced multiple sexual assaults in my younger adulthood, many of them violent. My male partner experienced it as well, in a single instance as a child. This is par for the course for women, but also not enough emotionally addressed in the impact on men. We have a disparity. It's definitely not true, 98% of humanity doesn't measure up to those ridiculous standards, yet most of us go on to find people and have fulfilling relationships. Relationships aren't perfect and sometimes they don't last, but one true thing is most people will struggle to keep a healthy relationship with someone who doesn't love themselves. This is a really great thing you did for yourself and it's great to hear. Real men and real women just want a partner who has a healthy respect for themselves and others, and can have similar goals and work on them together as an equal team.
