Social skills have gone out the window, and avoidance is at an all time high. People aren't forced to be in social situations anymore. Even small things like answering a phone call is viewed as an inconvenience. Maybe women have created a slightly more hostile environment towards men, but I feel the larger reason is cultural. People are simply less social nowadays and aren't developing the skills or confidence to navigate situations that make them uncomfortable.

I dont understand how you can be in someone's "fuck zone" if you aren't fucking them.

Thats stupid asf. The OPs definition sounds like a post hoc justification for keeping a guy in the friend zone.
/r/PurplePillDebate18/12/25 02:16 PM

The fuck zone is where guys put women who aren't "quality" enough to want a relationship with. It implies the two people are fucking, but the man won't commit to anything official; or he breadcrumbs and leads her on, etc. You cant put a girl in the "fuck zone" if she doesnt want to fuck you in the first place. I think OP is confused about the definition.

The ability to court a woman is tied to masculinity. A woman "giving herself" to you is how she validates you as a man. Buying sex is not the same thing as a woman declaring you worthy as a mate.

Most women's bodies change for the worse after they've had kids. Id say this is more of a "wall" than age itself. Especially in 2025, where 30 is still relatively young.
/r/PurplePillDebate06/11/25 02:40 PM

30 isnt the "wall". I'd argue the "wall" is after they've had kids.

This shit is just pushover guys trying to sidestep the social hierarchy by pretending to be a "lone wolf". Its a fantasy. The bottom line is that we are a social species. The need for external validation is hardwired into us.

Most incels probably are on the spectrum. Feminists refuse to believe how hard it is to roleplay as a male in today's world. Any awkwardness kills a guys chances.

They're complaining because they've got too many choices and are nitpicking to insane levels. Women are also fine single. Its men who seem to go off the rails when they are left out.

There is no stalemate. Women are doing fine. Its the neurodivergent men who are struggling and becoming mass shooters about it.

Having a fun and charismatic personality is definitely a thing. Is being charming just as genetic as being good looking? Debatable. Anyone who denies the power of a good personality clearly doesn't have one.

I wish this were the case, but I feel like I'm average regardless, which puts me in the pool with the overweight fucks in this country. For men, I feel like you're "meh" until you're suddenly hot. Women arent as reactive to men's beauty the way the inverse holds true. It takes a lot to be considered good looking as a guy.

What if your options are all 40lbs overweight?
/r/PurplePillDebate29/10/25 01:17 PM

She sounds like she isnt built for long term relationships. Some people aren't. Also, a grown woman using the words alpha male is a red flag for me. She must love performative males.

Being a bad person isnt the same as having a bad personality. You can be charming and evil. The "bad personality" people are talking about is being shy, awkward, passive, etc. That being said, if youre using dating apps to meet women, your charisma means shit.

There is an argument to be made that this guy was a complete piece of shit and doing it on purpose, but that doesn't make it sexual assault. AFAIK, you need physical contact to consider it assault.

The guy could be lathering his chigger-infested cock with Crisco butter, spread eagle on his sofa while blasting Eddie Money and it still wouldn't be sexual assault.

A dude passed out naked is not sexual assault. I can definitely picture some creepy fuck doing something like this on purpose, though.

I would imagine the kinds of women that resort to thus sort of thing are more insufferable than the ones using apps. I picture the main demographic being 35 - 45 yr old women with a proclivity for serial monogamy. I.e., lots of emotional baggage, cluster B personality disorders, etcetera.

Everyone is a hedonistic consumer who worships themselves. Its all a big masturbatory experience. 90% of the people on the apps are doing it for validation and endorphins. Its a tainted pool to begin with. That being said, if a woman cant find a proper date with a 3% swipe rate, thats a her problem.

I said above average. Average male in his 30s is 5'9, slightly overweight, and potentially bald. All other factors equal, the fact that I'm tall, not overweight and not bald puts me above average. Not "hot", but above average. However, the point of my comment was that despite this, my female equivalent is out of my league. Men and women dont scale the same way based on physical features. A woman with a nice figure and average face is like top 15% in the US because of the obesity epidemic. Your a…

Its just the way the market forces work. I'm 6'4, average build, average face, not bald. I'd say this puts me above average for guys my age (early 30s). Not bonafide "hot", but at least above average. I know that if I open the dating apps, my "league" is women 20+ lbs overweight. Seldom do I match with women whom I legitimately find attractive. You dont really get to experience the perks of being "attractive" as a guy until you reach a certain threshold.

If you've ever had a very attractive male friend, you'd see its obvious. There are always going to be shy women, or culturally reserved ones, but these are exceptions instead of the rule. If a woman is into you, she's gonna make it easy for you to talk to her. Shes gonna be curious about you. Shes going to put herself in situations where she can interact with you. She might take the long way to the break room to walk past your desk - even if she doesnt explicitly interact with you as a result. S…

I dont care how "hot" a woman is, I'm not doing an expensive first date. I think most people of my generation (millennial) and later have moved on from the performative courting process. Low stakes, low commitment, see how you vibe and take it from there. If she likes you, she's going to want to spend time with you.
/r/PurplePillDebate15/10/25 01:32 PM

Its a meme. The same thing as, "is she hot, or am I distracted by her boobs?". Even if there are women this judgemental, they aren't someone youd want as a long term partner anyway. The algorithms are fucking with you guys. Insecurity and rage generates clicks.

Growing up with and spending time with a few guys who were much better looking than me, it was super obvious when a woman was into them. If at a party, for example, these girls would go out of their way to start a conversation with them. Somewhere during the night, they would find themselves alone with the guy and take full advantage of it - whether it be "coincidentally" going to the keg to fill up a beer at the same time, or a smoke break, etc - it would happen. Sure, some women are very shy a…

The boogeyman of the "manosphere" is such a cop-out. Trump is a piece of shit, and his cronies are pieces of shit, but let's not act like the Left hasn't been demonizing men for years. There are millions of young men feeling like they have no agency in their lives and no one is acknowledging them except for the Right. Until that changes, I really dont see Trumpism going away.

I have never seen a guy actively "pursue" a woman and get anything out of it but bread crumbs and being taken advantage of. Women make it incredibly easy if they're interested, and you'd have to be a social fuckwit to miss the glaring signs that she's into you. I think the best thing your average guy can do is put himself in as many social settings as possible and hope a woman gives him the green light. Thats not the same thing as trying to negotiate attraction with every woman he's into, howeve…

I dont think its "bad", but I can see why its incredibly frustrating for the average man: his average counterpart is simply not interested in him. I dont buy into the fact that women's standards are some sort of moral barometer, either. Women aren't incredibly selective because most men are bad lovers; they are selective because they can be. Men just require less from woman than vice versa. There is also biology at play. A guy can walk through midtown Manhattan and see 100 woman over the course …

Men's fantasies are fine, but I dont think they're always conducive to both parties enjoying themselves. I've met some women who are into the whole "free use" thing, but they were both Borderline Personality Disorder types.

I dont know if porn affects men in the way that you are suggesting. Sure, it does promote unreasonable beauty standards, but the biggest issue is how it presents sex: The women are just objects for the men to use, eager to please without any regard for their own pleasure; bending themselves into ridiculous positions for the camera, etc. Porn implies that women are glorified sex dolls.

"Lifes not fair" isn't a justification for shitty things happening; its a way for you to accept shit thats out of your control. Its supposed to be a liberating philosophy, not a damning one.

For some people, yes. But those people are probably incapable of developing a deep, meaningful love and are destined to be serial monogomists.

Settling in the sense that they arent dating a 24 yr old French model? 99.9% of them. The number of men who are genuinely unattracted to their wives is probably a minority, though. To be honest, if physical attraction was the primary currency in a relationship, celebrity couples would be much happier (they aren't).

I think women are more inclined to try and "dignify" their sexuality. E.g., see attractive guy, try to justify their lust by projecting depth onto him. Its all after-the-fact. Whereas male sexuality is not fooling itself at all. Boobs. Giggity. Etcetera.

What Im saying is that if you take the average US man and woman and bring them both down to a healthy weight, the woman becomes a 7, but the guy stays a 5. If the population weren't so fat, they would both be 5s and be a match.

There are equal amounts of fat fucks in this country. I just think fatness hits women harder (up to a point). I also think there are a million ways to be unattractive as a man, but for women, its generally their weight. In other words, a 28 yr old plain Jane who isn't fat has way more sex appeal in this country than her male counterpart.

The "spark" is in her mind. Girls will build the biggest mystery around a guy with the personality of a wooden spoon if they're attracted to him.

There are side effects to the medications available for hairloss, and there is also no guarantee they will work for everyone. Maybe in a few decades there will be something better available. Being fat is a choice; balding is not.

If the average woman wasn't so fat in this country, there would be more of them to go around. The problem is that a woman can go from a 9 to a 4 just by virtue of her weight, and the drop-off is pretty sharp. You can have the most gorgeous face in the world, but it doesnt matter if youre fat.
/r/PurplePillDebate16/09/25 02:10 PM

Ofc not. I just think its important to understand that there are like a million ways to be unattractive as a guy, whereas with women, its usually because she's fat.

Chadfishing is something I recommend all men do - just to experience what it's like when a woman is actually interested in you. This way they arent wasting time on people who are marginally invested. Its crazy how easy it is when the woman is pulling her weight in the conversation.

There are always going to be variations in taste and nuance to consider, but most people tend to agree on what is attractive or not. E.g., Margot Robbie and Matt Bomer. The bottom line is that women are in a position to be very selective on the apps (supply & demand), and you bet they are selecting for highly desirable traits. Otherwise, what are they selecting for? These "highly desirable traits" arent completely homogenous, but there definitely is a big overlap. What are you arguing? Are you s…

Because your average Joe is not getting much interaction on the apps. If women's attention was spread variably, you would not see this phenomenon.
/r/PurplePillDebate05/09/25 05:00 PM

The 7% women are swiping on might have some variation, but it would be foolish to assume it is distributed across the entire spectrum of men. Many women swipe left based on height alone, not to mention the criterion at come into play after that. Anecdotally speaking: Id consider myself a little above average. I'm 6'4 with average build and average face and not bald. Tinder would have me believe the only women interested in dating me are obese or 8000 miles away in Thailand.

I think this is true except for heavy women. Most of the 'elite', socialite level women are thin. In the US, even an average-faced women who isn't 40lbs overweight is like a 7. I genuinely think a lot of the woes in the US dating scene are because women look far worse than men as they gain weight (up to a point obviously). With half the country obese, it makes it hard for your average Joe to find a non chunker.

Italian guy comes NYC, his dating options are much better than in Naples. Mediterranean men are seen as very masculine & handsome in Western culture. Take a guy from Pakistan, and he will not get a boost. Rarely do white women find South Asian guys attractive. The same was true for East Asian guys until the last decade or so, when anime/geek culture started to become more mainstream. White guys going to passport bro countries are getting a huge boost because they're exotic in a good way. Especia…

I think these guys prefer women who aren't fat. You can have the prettiest face as a woman, but if you're fat, you're a sub 5. 80% of a woman's attractiveness comes down to her body. Even 15 - 20lbs extra fat (which is AT LEAST what most women in the US are carrying) can turn you from a 7 to a 5. Your "average-looking" woman in a passport bro country is going to look better simply because of the lack of obesity. Couple this with the status boost you get, esp if youre white and over 6ft, and dati…

Chad is the guy who doesnt need a personality to pull girls. He doesnt need to make you laugh or make himself likeable. Women just throw themselves at him and he gets to choose who he wants - essentially reversing the traditional gender roles.
/r/PurplePillDebate09/08/25 04:23 AM

Half of the women there are obese. I counted 2 men who looked obese. Id say the average of the guys' photos is 6+, with some obvious top%'ers. They arent all Chad's, but I would say a good majority are decent looking. The average of the women is like 4, with a few women who look cute. Granted, this is just a sample and doesn't really prove anything.

I dont think woman have messed up standards outside of the OLD sphere. If anything, women are FAR more "forgiving" of physical flaws than men. However, for guys who aren't naturally outgoing with the ability to constantly expand/diversify their social circle, the obvious avenue for dating is OLD. And, unless your particularly physically gifted, it becomes eroding to your self esteem. Really, this is an OLD phenomenon.

Hookup material means you are a dope. I've only ever heard it used pejoratively, and only from women who are into casual to begin with. It means you are good looking and/or fun for partying with, but don't provoke any deeper intrigue. Unless I am completely out of touch with modern vernacular, "hookup material" is not a compliment.

Not disagreeing with OP at all, but I dont think people are any happier in relationships today than they were 100 years ago. There is always an element of "settling", especially when the honeymoon phase dies out and you have to share a space together; deal with the ups and downs of life; the gross parts of being human, etc. It takes a special kind of personality to be able to love deeply enough to get satisfaction from a long term relationship, and I don't know if those qualities are being nurtu…
