Engage the group of friends, have fun with them, lead them, be that guy you want to be not just to her, but to her friends too. Clammed up excuses are going to lead you nowhere, so learn how to read the room. If you're at a nightclub, go dance with her, if you're at a house party, and it's your house, ask her to come with you to show her something in your room ( and for the love of god have something to show ).
