I'll be looking to see if he speaks on this more as he rises in prominence, and he's obviously looking at a presidential run. It will be harder for the media and feminist groups to go after a goodlooking, liberal man of color, so i hope he uses his platform courageously.

Well the analogy there would be thoughts of harming someone vs actually harming someone. Like that's a massive metaphysical difference. Both extremely serious and potentially dangerous, but should be handled differently.

Well it's more nuanced than that, certainly? I mean we are getting into tricky territory between free will, brain disorders, childhood experiences, legal consequences, etc. I'm not sure we know yet how to parse all that. Even ultra religious people distinguish between the impulse to do a sinful act or temptation to do so versus actually acting upon that thing and having real life consequences in reality. Not minors; youth and fertility in general. I think MAP is a useful term of distinction because one could have a mental disorder but not commit harmful acts against others. The individuals I worked with all were in treatment and pretty self-aware. I've come across some prominent theories in evolutionary psych about how certain mental disorders have developed, but in the case of pedophilia as a sexual preoccupation, I don't think we have a very good answer yet.

My guess would be that it has to do with the extremes of male sexual nature, particularly how men are drawn to youthfulness in particular. I would think it would be more common in men simply because if one is predisposed that way evolutionarily, a traumatic abuse experience childhood and a certain brain abnormality can lead to certain paraphillic disorders. All of my experiences with HR have made me infer that its a field that just has grown to hate men over time, and any kind of masculine self-expression. Lots of liberal arts fields are like that, and fellows like you and I are robbed of our hard work and potential because of that. Sad, just so sad. 3/4 of that account is sympathetic and relatable. A thoughtful introvert who takes romance seriously amidst being in the midst of a superficial Hollywood culture. But then blames it on the group of people who would be least likely to have a problem with her for any of those things. Tons of regular guys and "incels" would worship a gal who wants to stay in in a hoodie, play games, and have deep conversations.

A young lady (well educated, goodlookin, pretty sophisticated about most thing) that i met on here and was corresponding with for a while....told me to get a cat to cure my depression.
