I stopped reading when she made the comment about not shaving your armpits but also said having piercings, tattoos, etc was bad and conforms bc to the male gaze. Just….no.

I would love to peek inside OP’s head just to find out wtf they’re so confused about. Her husband is so sick that he doesn’t even view this girl as a person. I’m upset that she’s enabling him so much too.

Hasn’t it also been shown that I guess on average) men will put their safety before a woman’s? Thus the “women and children” first. They don’t care about protecting anyone, they just care about their image.

I was actually thinking about this this morning. My conclusion? I don’t know! Marriage was never really on my radar; I’ve looked at wedding dresses - once, in my early twenties - only to discover that I apparently have expensive taste, and asked myself why I was even looking since I didn’t know if I wanted to get married or not. Sometimes I even thought that I probably won’t get married. I’ve never fantasized about what my wedding might be like, I can’t really relate to that thought process. But…

Context is key, and using an adjective correctly shouldn’t be a bad thing. :) Every time I’m around someone that uses men/female (instead of male/female in sentences where they should have used woman/girl/etc) I use it as an opportunity to explain why it’s a negative thing, how it only helps to set women back further, and inform them of the correct way of doing it. Some get it right away, some don’t really “see the problem”, and some are slow learners, and if I catch them doing it after a second…

This is something I had a weird realization with. I told someone I was with that their kissing didn’t turn me on, and then eventually said I wasn’t sexually attracted to them. They’re still on the chase, years later. It’s one person I’m struggling on hitting the block button on though, as I think I’m letting myself get blinded by friendship.

I know that textured hair is more prevalent in non-Caucasian people, but can we also not be encouraging or reinforcing the mentality that white people have straight hair?

Not related to pictures, but we recently got a new hire at work, and two of the guys that were working with her started trying to impress her. Instead of winning her over, they wound up inadvertently flirting with each other. Poor girl didn’t learn much that day from either of those buffoons.

Something I’ve had men say to me before was that they “only realised how much they loved me once they lost me,” or some variation of that don’t know what you’ve got til it’s gone mindset, and the “I’ll never love another the way I loved you.” Like, that’s nice, it’s not my problem you had this “realization” when it was too late 🙄 I don’t move backwards, only forwards, and yeah, I’ve upgraded. Please, continue telling your friends about how sad you are and how mean I am.

That’s such a gross feeling. But at least he has some morals. I would also like to know why any server would think it’s okay/appropriate to insinuate such things?

Something I’ve said to guys before is, “I’m allowed to not want to have sex,” or “I don’t have to have sex if I don’t want to.” Doesn’t always snap them back, but when it does, the look on their face is pretty satisfying… still sucks that things like that even need to be said. Why can’t men just accept a “no” for what it is?

Acting or modelling seems to be their guise. I’ve been approached a few times, and I always got this really..icky feeling, and only one “recruiter” openly said that it could/would eventually lead to more pornographic content (if I desired, apparently). But you know, imagine all the opportunities it will give me! 🙄

Interesting...I just went and checked mine (Hawaiian tropic sheer touch), and that’s the ingredient it’s missing, one for the UVA2 rays. I like using this one since it doesn’t give me some weird, congested, almost allergic type of reaction, or gummy eyes. Am I okay, or should I look for one will a full spectrum of protection? 😅

I have dark under eyes, so masking and brightening that area gives me a huge boost. I think the ritual part of it also makes me feel good (for the curious, I do focus on skincare as well). Like I’m taking care of myself, not to make myself look different, but just the fact that I’m putting in some effort makes me go “okay, I’m ready to take on the day!” I don’t really know how else to explain it. Before medication, it was something that made me feel more human, like I could actually exist, and m…

Not always just a hobby, either. For me, growing up, doing my makeup was more of an outlet. I could express myself, explore my identity, and honestly, the routine of it helped as a sort of coping mechanism with my depression. The last part still holds very true to the day, coming from my teenage years into my adulthood. I don’t wear as much as I used to, but it helps me feel good about myself, and again, I like the routine. As a whole, it makes me feel presentable, boosts my confidence, and is o…

Heh...I’ve only ever had one guy willing to let me do the same things to him as he did to me. He wasn’t ever aggressive, or demeaning, no slapping. But if I wanted to, he would let me tie him, peg him, spank him. He always made sure my needs were met, and always wanted me to feel safe and that I could trust him. We had plenty “vanilla” sex as well, and I never left the bedroom hating myself and feeling ashamed or dirty. It was all empowering in a way and just...nice..to have a partner that was w…

Would like to add, scrote gets mad when you try to give him any direction on how to please you sexually because you’re undermining him and his fragile masculinity. Oh, and the, I ate a bite of pineapple today so my cum will taste good for you. 🙄

Never, ever, ever(!!!) do anything. The only time I’ve had men flock to me to “help” was when they thought I was incapable of lifting something heavy. OP, you’re allowed to fell everything you are feeling right now! You were assaulted, violated, humiliated...and I’m so sorry you had to experience that. Even if you don’t have a lot of details, you still absolutely file that police report. Just include whatever details you can. I saw another user post about an epsom salt bath, and I agree you shou…

Cats have boundaries and teach us patience and respect, which is a beautiful thing! I’ve always used my cats approval when it comes to men as well. If they don’t like them, they’re gone. They’ve never been wrong, and you could say their opinion matters most to me.

Thank you for the informative response! I’m much more interested in getting it done now, especially knowing it’s not the procedure I thought it was. The ablation is a fantastic idea! I get awful periods that leave me practically bedridden if I’m not on a contraceptive, so that’s good to know it’s an option. This might be a silly question...would any of this affect your hormone levels at all?

So this has been something I’ve considered for many years. I know everybody is different, but how invasive did you find it? I’m also curious about the scarring and recovery of it as well. I’ve seen too many varying pictures to accurately grasp the process.

The opposite to the alone and childless is a cheater with children. Encountering men in a relationship where their SO has a kid (or kids) with them, yet are forever straying from the woman they swore fidelity to is seemingly never ending. To me, it’s a way men prove they only value the idea of being with a woman, never the commitment to them, as though they have this sense of entitlement to women. Always after some cheap thrill while she remains unaware of his actions, or has become meek and sub…

I broke my foot at the beginning of an excursion while on vacation. My partner was shitty and discounted my pain and discomfort, I trekked on for over an hour, awkwardly swam when needed to, and don’t complain too much. He was annoyed when I had to slow down a little, and eventually I told him that if he were experiencing what I was feeling, he would be bitching so much about it. Even when my foot was swollen and had turned green and purple he still refused to believe it wasn’t more than a “mino…

I would say they’re also the kind of men who like to say, when you’re breaking up with them, “but I was going to ask you to marry me!” As though that’s supposed to magically change your mind and take them back.

One comment I found hilarious came from a guy that was going to the same gym as me. We went around the same time, and half the time I was there with my boyfriend. One day, he asked me out. I said no, thank you, and reminded him that I was already seeing someone. He said whatever, and that I was “clearly not a nice person.”

Ughh back when I was about 16/17 I was dating an abusive asshole. I don’t remember what made him say it, but I remember his comment so clearly...”you’re the kind of girl I need - really hot and with low self esteem.” I felt sad and worthless when he said that, and I wish I had left the relationship right then. Unfortunately I stayed with him for another terrible year, until I moved and he no longer knew where I lived. I’ve since worked on myself a lot, and have really blossomed and can say I’m h…

Sending the universe good vibes for you! I still feel a bit shy in my relationship when my partner genuinely asks me to tell him about whatever it is that I’m doing or watching (girly dress up game? Tell me all about it. Silly anime? I’ll watch it with you, even if I probably won’t like it). He saw me looking at a meme on this sub, so I explained it to him. His response? “If there’s ever anything you feel like I could be better at or do differently, or just anything in general, please let me kno…

Oof. This happened to me once. I knew they had a kid together, however I did not know they were still together until it somehow came up when we were riding the chairlift up the ski hill. I didn’t hide my disdain, but I also played nice as he was my ride home 😪 a few weeks later he left me a new set of skis on my doorstep, I’m assuming was a peace offering. I’m terrible and I kept them 😇

I know it’s not always the best approach (always read the room), but I have had decent results when responding with, “ohh.....no, thank you.” In an sort of pitying tone that hints at kindness except not really, and overtly implies that they should bugger off.

Lol ‘the impossible’ I mean, yeah it often does feel likes it’s impossible for men to consider (and indulge) a woman’s sexual needs.

I read that as him being torn between those two opposing ideas. He hates that she’s being successful at the open relationship while he isn’t, but also sees how happy it has made her.
