It doesn’t seem like you’re actually trying to understand my point, but fine. The fact is, there are no comprehensive statistics breaking down the gender of all perpetrators. And more importantly, my point was that broad generalizations are unhelpful—these crimes, while tragic, are committed by a very small fraction of both men and women. If you're going to make generalizations, at least look at the full picture. According to 2024 data, there were 686 murders in total. Don’t cherry-pick the numb…

According to official statistics from the BMI and BKA, the majority of murder victims — as well as victims of most other severe violent crimes — are men. https://imgur.com/a/kT6Eko4 https://www.bmi.bund.de/SharedDocs/downloads/DE/publikationen/themen/sicherheit/BMI25028_pks-2024.html https://www.bka.de/DE/AktuelleInformationen/StatistikenLagebilder/PolizeilicheKriminalstatistik/PKS2023/PKSTabellen/BundOpfertabellen/bundopfertabellen.html

That’s a clear case of cherry-picking. According to official statistics from the BMI and BKA, the majority of murder victims — as well as victims of most other severe violent crimes — are men. The reason why sexual offenses and murders by a (former) partner are among the few exceptions is—aside from the issue of underreporting—likely because women are generally more protected in public spaces. The one place society can’t really protect them, however, is within their own relationships and the cho…

I think what you're talking about is often referred to as the "accountability-gap" (in response to the wage-gap idea).

The way you phrased it made it sound like part of your relationship dynamic, though that obviously doesn’t mean you avoid all conflict with your partner. However, him saying "choose whatever you want" could also be a way of avoiding conflict. It’s not necessarily the case, especially if it's unusual for him, but when it comes to this issue, it seems to be a recurring pattern.

Avoiding conflict creates situations like this because he won’t know what you truly value. If something matters to you, it should be worth standing up for. I learned this the hard way—avoiding conflict may seem like a way to spare someone hardship, but in reality, it can come across as indifference, as if you don’t care enough to express your views. Sometimes, hardship is necessary. If he’s willing to save his earnings for your car, he’s already enduring discomfort to make you happy. Avoiding co…

I see what you mean, but that perspective doesn’t entirely make sense. If a car is supposed to make you happy, that’s a lot of pressure to place on it. Our appreciation for things usually comes from both their value to us and our belief that we deserve them. If, for some reason, you feel you don’t deserve this car, try to find a reason why you do—beyond just happiness—or talk to your boyfriend about it. If you can’t, consider choosing something you’d feel more comfortable with. If this is truly …

What is the point in having sex without communicating about what the other person wants and enjoys? This is probably just ragebait but whatever.

Waren Ferrel says the equivalent of a woman being treated as a sex object is a man being treated as a success object. He wrote "The Myth of Male Power: Why Men are the Disposable Sex". You should check it out if you're interested in this topic.

I already agreed with you on this three comments ago and tried to explain that projection is a symptom of it working, not the root cause or explanation, as you suggested. "The projection will persist as long as people assume the argument has merit, because the cognitive distortion is overwhelming. The only logical way to engage is to expose its inherent contradiction from the start."

Yes, but my point is that in most cases, this approach would be counterproductive because people would recognize the logical fallacy and feel manipulated. This suggests that the real issue isn’t just the manipulation itself, but how we’ve enabled them to evade accountability on an emotional level. At least, that’s my thesis. Clarification: They can't keep getting away with this Listing all the ways they’re getting away with it isn’t very useful if the core issue is that they’re getting away with…

I don't disagree. So what's your argument? I don't get it.

That doesn’t make sense. Spoiling, pampering, and idealizing someone ignores their pain and individuality just as much as abuse, neglect, and devaluation do. Giving people things they haven’t earned only undermines their ability to appreciate what they have—how can they be truly content if they never had to work for it? It’s true that women have gained many rights without the corresponding responsibilities, which grants them a form of privilege. However, constantly giving them whatever they want…

I agree that it's projection, but no one can honestly or consistently argue for both positions at once. That’s precisely why it’s a logical fallacy—those who are clearly biased exploit this by retreating to a collectively accepted argument whenever challenged. If you don’t recognize the fallacy, it’s difficult to see that the real goal is always manipulation. The projection will persist as long as people assume the argument has merit, because the cognitive distortion is overwhelming. The only lo…

Historically, it’s useful to categorize the movement into different waves and sub-ideologies. Ultimately, though, it functions as wartime propaganda directed at its own members—a persistent Motte and Bailey fallacy that exploits fundamental evolutionary instincts. "Stop oppressing and hurting women" is the bailey because it relies on the assumption that men inherently use their power to oppress women—an idea that is both objectively false and counterproductive if the goal is to appeal to men for…

Society is just a scapegoat. You can't expect someone to love you, if you don't love yourself. If your husband tried to take care of you before, it was probably too frustrating because you refused to take care of yourself. Now that you started to do it and he can reward you for it you resent him for that fact? Just because he is rewarded by that as well? I think you don't want to accept that hating "society" or if we're honest: hating yourself is making you unlovable. You're just trying to shift…

Many people are narcissistic and don't realize that other people aren't in a symbiotic relationship with them. They maternalize and idealize the other perso . They want to separate and individuate from their mother like they weren't able to, by making everyone else their mother and trying to separate from them via rejection, idealization and devaluation. These people are stuck in the psychological development of their early childhood and only value others in the framework of this theatrical reen…

I agree. He probably misread it because there are a lot of people who can get very offended if you offer them some help.

A person should be able to feel whole, to feel complete without another person. I don't really understand why someone needs more people's intimacy than their partner's. If you love yourself like you would someone else, there shouldn't be a need for that. I guess it's because he has a hole in his heart. Somehow he feels broken/ incomplete. Maybe you guys should reconnect with nature, or try to meditate or something like that. I would also suggest that tantric holding off method. It doesn't mean t…

The questions that you ask at the end are valid questions. However, I think we have to respect the presumption of innocence here. So far none of the allegations have been proven to be true. Only if they were proven in a court, should we ask how she got away with it for so long. Meetoo and it's predecessors have shown, that accusers have a lot to gain by accusing very successful people. Obviously they almost exclusively accused men, but if we want to be consistent, the same principles have to app…

There are 51 forms of birth control for women. (Vasalgel as a semi permanent solution for men) Just use two (spermicide + condom or whatever). 99% effective + 99% effective should be safe enough

I think reciprocity is key here. Let's look at relationships as trade agreements. If there could be some way that you can get a win-win situation established, noone would have to feel guilty or ashamed for getting what they want. Of course this has to be established over time and you first need the ability to negotiate. If there are no other options available to you, and if you don't know what you have to offer, your needs, wants or your boundaries, you can't realistically negotiate. And the pow…

I can't speak from experience, but I've often heard the advice that going on a vacation together can help to test out whether or not you can get along with/ and rely on each other over an extended period of time/ despite any arguments. So I'm guessing it may be a good way to experience how it would be if you were living together. Another useful way of handling the current situation might be to say that you value each others independence and try to reassure that you won't force each other into a …
