So when you have no counter argument you just swear at people? Very mature of you.

Yes they were, and notice how you grouped all white people together in that statement, just like I did when talking about women? And it isn’t cherry picking. You should really look up what that term means, because you aren’t using it correctly.

Thing is, it does. The statement “black people were enslaved by whites” when talking about American history is a true statement. Not all whites owned slaves, but the vast majority of slave owners were white. It doesn’t mean all men were responsible, just that the people responsible were men. That is a factual statement. You can also say men oppressed other men, the rich oppressed the poor. Obviously not ALL rich people did, but the majority did. The majority of men did not want women to have the…

And nor should you. But you can still accept the reality that it happened. The past was horrible, and at least in the western world, white males had the power for the most part. And I’m not saying if women had had the power they’d have been any kinder to us than we were to them. But as men, due to our biology and genetics, we had the first form of power, the oldest, raw physical strength. As we developed as a society we used that power to attain different kinds of power, we made the rules the ga…

Meh, I think there is always a point in trying, even if it’s just so other people see it attempted. Maybe they will be more successful.

Nothing is pointless, everything has consequence. We convince ourselves otherwise because that way we don’t feel the weight of those consequences. Every great movement throughout history was the result of countless people doing little things. Like voting. No one vote wins an election, but every vote counts.
/r/MensRights27/08/20 11:10 PM

True. But oppression against men doesn’t justify oppression against women. And remember that we were the ones who made the rules. We didn’t want women in the military, we didn’t want them to vote. The privilege of our power means accepting the obligations of our mistakes, and our bigotry.

I’d say the recent events in the US disproves that to a certain extent. People are more compliant, back in the day you didn’t have nearly as many fun things you’d rather be doing. And no one is saying you need to start a movement. Downvote the occasional incel comment, post a single reply every now and then when you disagree. You’re certainly doing that much with me, why not them?

No one is saying you have to be. It is individuals acting together that change the world, it is rarely ever one persons actions.

Yep, and you are free to fight for your sub if you want. I did for a long time, but I feel like it's a lost cause. I'd rather find a better sub than stick it out with one that's being taken over by incels. And personally, I think ignoring incels helps them justify their own actions. This sub is an echo chamber (all subs are to some extent), and if you want to see change, be that change. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if this sub gets banned in a year or two with the way things are not so sl…

And the countless upvotes for those hateful voices, and the downvotes for the reasonable ones? This sub is toxic. Yeah, there are a few reasonable ones (including someone who directed me to a less feminist hating sub via PM, who didn't want to comment because he knew he'd get downvoted to shit), but the majority are basically incels. It isn't a few bad apples. If it were, I'd be fine. But seeing posts bitching about feminists actually trying to support men getting hundreds of upvotes... that's a…

Let’s address your first lie before moving on. Well, technically the second, because even men exempt from the draft for medical reasons were allowed to vote. Women did not have equal property rights, and for a very long time all of her assets were controlled by her husband. He could legally sell anything and everything she owned, even if it belonged to her before their marriage. Women also weren’t allowed to purchase property. https://www.thoughtco.com/property-rights-of-women-3529578

Alright, fine, lets do this. Women having to fight for the right to vote is oppression. You can say they didn't have to register for the draft, but they were legally kept from enlisting in the military even if they wanted to... it wasn't an option. They were seen as second class citizens, and were still treated that way until recently. Things have definitely balanced out, but to pretend that not having the right to vote, to own property, to work in any position of power or influence can compare …

Because I'm done talking to people like you for today, far too annoying. One thing I will say, the pathetic extent some MRA's will go to to try and justify how women were treated is pretty fucking sad. This wanting to be the biggest victim shit is pathetic when women do it, it's pathetic when anyone does it, and you should try to pry your head out of your ass and realize everyone's got shit to deal with, even women.
/r/MensRights26/08/20 09:13 PM

By “studied” you mean googling while on the toilet, like anti-vax mom studying. Have you even considered the fact that most non-radical feminists don’t spend all their time in subreddits devoted to feminism? I’ve met some radical feminists in person before, that’s what happens when you talk to people face to face, you get a variety of views on any given subject. Spend your time on subreddits dedicated to the same subjects, and you’re going to find a lot of people with similar beliefs.

It’s not a trash post, you just hate all feminists, even the reasonable ones who also believe in men’s rights. Lol, sure it is buddy, being outraged by the horrible acts of violence taking place across the world is the problem, unless those acts are even slightly against men, then we should dedicate a subreddit to it. I’m a men’s rights supporter, but I’m not such a blind moron as to think we are the only ones who have issues. Feminists have genuine issues, it’s the extremist elements of feminism I dislike. Yeah they could, and they’d be correct. It is shameful that the US government has basically ignored the problem, and it should be addressed. It’s not xenophobia if you are as critical of your own government as you are of other people’s.

"It's very interesting how you jumped to conclusion that there are no steps being taken to mitigate this issue or there are no laws for it." Never said that, in fact I said the opposite. I said they have been taking steps recently to mitigate things. The source I provided gave references to all but the USA taking rape more seriously, but a few corrections before I explain that. I didn’t say there were more rapes in the US because the media reported on it. I said that the media reporting on gang rapes in India brought global attention to the issue, and forced India to reform some of its policies on rape and to take more serious steps to mitigate the issue. I didn’t say wife beatings, I said that 50% of Indians believe it is acceptable to beat…

And that makes it okay??? To put it into perspective, that is 8760 a year. The US had 157 deaths last year from school shootings and it is considered a serious issue (and rightfully so).

And fewer than 1% of murders victims where the head isn’t found have their killer identified. Does this mean that there is discrimination against the headless? Or that proving guilt beyond a reasonable doubt is more difficult in some cases than others? Also, if they weren’t convicted, you shouldn’t be calling them rapists.
/r/MensRights18/08/20 02:36 PM

True, but you also have to keep in mind that the US is A) Extremely high on the list of rapes per capita, and B) Takes rape way more seriously than India. They updated the laws relatively recently, and reported cases have been going up as the media started to report on it more. We’re talking about a country where half the people believe giving a woman the occasional beating is fine. Hell, every hour a woman in India is killed for not providing a large enough dowry.

True, although how much is actually reported and taken seriously is debatable. We tend to only hear about the most shocking, violent incidents. The sort that can’t really be swept under the rug. There’s also the fact that half of Indians believe women deserve the occasional beating, and that every hour a woman in India is killed for not providing a large enough dowry. https://www.google.ca/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2018/apr/27/india-abuse-women-human-rights-rape-girls

Except in areas with rampant AIDs. The article states that in some areas of the globe, it is actually beneficial. No need for it in a healthy society though. Psychology damage is tricky. There’s also the fact that guys like that sometimes kill the women who try to leave them. She also had to consider her sons safety.

I misspoke, he made the sentence so light for the reasons I listed. “Justice Palmer said he had to denounce Ruddelle's conduct, deter others from doing similar and take into account her rehabilitation.” The judge clearly didn’t agree with the jury.
/r/MensRights07/08/20 12:41 PM

After reading that article I see nothing to contradict my earlier statements. Even the judge said it was reasonable for her to want to defend herself from harm, and cited wanting to discourage other women from copying her thinking they’ll get away with it as one of the reasons he ruled it as manslaughter and not self defence.
/r/MensRights07/08/20 11:36 AM

I’m saying that the 80 confirmed cases of domestic abuse justifies her fearing for her life, and that she had the right to take any steps necessary to protect herself. See how mine is based on confirmed events and not baseless speculation? That’s how the law works.

The flaw with that thinking is that men who didn't serve in the military got to vote... you're just coming up with excuses as to why women shouldn't have equal rights, it's pretty sad.

Oh I agree, I don't agree with feminists arguments about the wage gap (which is only 3% if you compare both women and men who don't have kids). I also agree with you on the two earner system we have set up. I think that we should definitely be shifting towards a 20/20 hour split between two parents, allowing them to share in the parenting responsibility. They were being hyperbolic (the cancer thing), so it doesn't really matter. And as I said, I am against the modern, radical feminist ideas. Doesn't mean that they shouldn't have acted in their own interest historically, or that there aren't issues that solely women face. Granted, these are no longer systemic in "the west", and under the law women and men are now equal. That said, if you don't think there is a need for feminism in Saudi Arabia, you need your head examined.
/r/MensRights02/04/19 11:23 PM

I am of course against the draft, and think it is horribly it is a men only program. I never said men don't experience sexism. As for the vote issue in the UK I am not familiar with that incident, however even if that is 100% accurate, that doesn't undo the good the feminism movement did for women, who were second class citizens.

If you really think people would rather their kid have cancer than feminism, you're an idiot.

Blackmail? Are you nuts?
/r/MensRights01/04/19 10:46 PM

I stated it is my opinion... I'm not saying I'm the leader of the mens rights movement, I was pretty sure that didn't need to be stated.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 10:45 PM
1

I've literally pointed to incels in this very thread, you want to pretend they are just a crazy exception, despite I've had this shit happen before in this community... I've come across at least one person who thinks women shouldn't have the right to vote in any thread I've participated in on topics like this.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 09:05 PM
1

Sure, ignore anything that doesn't fit your world view.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:58 PM
1

And that might make sense, if I hadn't posted the suggestion of distancing ourselves from incels BEFORE they even started to comment... So are you saying I peered into the future and decided a preemptive strike was necessary?
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:52 PM
0

Far from a SJW, as proven in other posts, just hate incels who give the rest of us a bad name.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:48 PM
1

Which is what exactly?...
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:45 PM
1

Once again, look at their post history, they are an incel because they post in incel subs... So yeah, I gave you evidence, you just didn't feel the need to look.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:37 PM
-1

You're an incel, your opinion isn't really valid.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:34 PM

Incel, check post history. https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/b7znss/a_branding_issue/ejv56gg/ And guy against women voting: https://www.reddit.com/r/MensRights/comments/b7znss/a_branding_issue/ejw3vct/ And I'm not talking about this thread, I'm talking about the whole sub. There are two in this thread... considering there's maybe 5 people other than myself tops, that's 2/5, or 40%.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:33 PM
1

Yep. Not a concern troll, just genuinely concerned.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:31 PM
1

I'm currently debating someone in this posts comment section about women having the right to vote... There's also an incel user who commented who got upvoted a bunch of times... so no, not trolling.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:22 PM
1

Oh I think women should have to register for the draft. I just don't think that's an excuse to take away their right to vote, because I'm for equal rights, not different rights. You are the one not for equality bud.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:18 PM
0

You have to sign up for something that isn't in action, and probably never will be... oh what a burden you carry. So would that mean women who are in the military would have the right to vote?
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:12 PM
0

Either explain said "price" or admit you have nothing. I'm tired of asking the same question over and over again without getting an actual answer.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 08:02 PM
1

... I obviously meant to clarify how they don't pay the same price.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 07:41 PM
0

See, you're the kind of person I'm suggesting we distance ourselves from, because that's just nuts. Care to explain how women don't deserve a vote?
/r/MensRights01/04/19 07:26 PM
1

I have no problem with them speaking, I'm not saying they can't have their own platform, or saying they should be banned from all of reddit. However, we don't have to give them a platform to use as a recruiting tool. And incel propaganda has lead to quite a few murders, so that would be how it prevents violence.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 07:18 PM
1

And I'd also suggest banning a sub for rapists if such a sub existed.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 07:16 PM
1

I would argue that a firmer stance against incels could very well prevent violence. Banning wouldn't be necessary if people on this sub actually stood up against incels, but they tend to ignore or upvote them, which leaves the group looking like it supports incels.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 07:13 PM
1

Would you ban nazi's from a jewish subreddit? Nazi's are just people with opinions after all.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 07:06 PM
1

You need to look up the definition of group, because we gather together under a certain set of beliefs under the title of "mens rights". That's a group bud. And your extremist comment is baseless and pretty stupid to be quite honest.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 07:03 PM
1

I'm talking as a group, not as an individual. And as a group, currently we have a ton of incels who think women should have never been given the right to vote, and who think they are garbage. Honestly, I think we should ban incels from the sub.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 06:59 PM
1

God damn... I didn't say don't debate them, I said distance. There is a difference between distancing and pretending they don't exist. Distancing in this context means to point to incels and say "this is not what we believe, we are not associated with that.", that doesn't stop you from debating them. And there are plenty of incels in this very comment section, getting upvoted for very backwards opinions.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 06:41 PM
0

The only guy I called an incel was the guy who actively posts on incel subreddits. So no, that's not what I'm doing. I am for the mens right movement, but to be taken seriously we need to distance ourselves from extremists who only hurt our image.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 06:33 PM

They asked for evidence if I've debated feminists, I provided it, so yes, it is proof.
/r/MensRights01/04/19 06:32 PM

Only had to do this once, but I recommend it. As a guy, I don't hit back. The police get involved and I know shit will go south for me quick. What do I do? I push them over. One solid shove and they are on their ass. Nothing will snap someone smaller and weaker than you back to reality if they are on the ground looking up at you. And what is she going to do? Call the police on you for pushing her away? She was assaulting you and all you did was keep her at a distance.

I treat jokes as jokes, and serious issues as serious issues. You can joke about serious issues and still have them be serious issues, that's kind of the point of the clarification.
/r/MensRights12/07/18 11:48 PM
1

And I didn't say you aren't allowed your opinion... and you seem very determined to misunderstand mine.
/r/MensRights12/07/18 11:46 PM
1

No... I didn't say that. But saying "They haven't so we shouldn't" isn't going to improve things. Someone needs to make the first step, to bridge the gap. Complaining about how feminists don't care about mens issues is pretty hypocritical if you aren't willing to help women out with theirs, or even just admit they are valid.
/r/MensRights09/07/18 07:23 AM
1

If you aren't saying we can't fight both than what exactly is your point in bringing it up? And then when you quote my "You can deal with more than one issue" you reply with "Oh really?" I'm not putting words in your mouth, you are being pretty damn clear. I am saying we SHOULD work together to help both. So far you've been no better than the feminists who don't help mens issues. You completely refuse to believe any of their issues are valid.
/r/MensRights09/07/18 06:57 AM

Saw the same documentary you did bud, I'm not denying those things are horrible. And comparing my having an opinion and debating it to fascism is you being a drama queen.
/r/MensRights07/07/18 07:25 AM

One's a joke, one is not. I'm fine with jokes about men AND women, assuming that women are irrational and overly emotional all the time is the same as assuming men are stupid, simple creatures who don't have any feelings.
/r/MensRights07/07/18 07:23 AM

I'm male, and am not trying to meet you "half way". Five to ten percent of the way, and if it weren't for the countless straw men that you and the rest of the commenters have put in front of me as my "beliefs" than you'd see that. The victim complex is strong in this sub, and it's the worst part of the feminists movement.
/r/MensRights04/07/18 03:32 AM

And viewing people as "Oppressed and oppressor" is the feminist game that got things the way they are now.
/r/MensRights04/07/18 03:23 AM

I'm male you idiot. A proud proponent of the male rights movement, and debate feminists regularly. You can be for male rights and equal rights for women. The only feminist causes I support are the ones for equal rights, not the ones that put them above men.

You have made nothing but baseless assumptions about me. I even said I wasn't a feminist multiple times, have said I'm against 95% of modern feminist issues. I said I support a couple feminist issues... not even the most popular ones (Rape culture, patriarchy, wage gap being due to discrimination). You do realize I'm male right? I lived through all that. Couldn't get a babysitting job when I was a teenager because I'd be assumed to be a pedophile (even though I'm great with kids). And I didn't compare women's issues to mens, I was just stating that they do have valid issues. I don't believe comparing issues is productive, that's just a "who has it worse" pity party, which isn't productive. Issues are issues, big or small. I criticize feminism all the damn time. I don't believe in patriarchy, I believe men are treated as disposable, I don't believe we live in a rape culture, I don't believe in 95% of feminists statements on the news. All I was saying is that there are women, who call themselves feminists, that only care about EQUAL rights, not putting down men constantly.

4/5 lowest paying careers are dominated by women. 4/5 highest paid careers are dominated by men. That's just statistical fact. No, feminist extremists are the equivalent of the INCEL movement. I am not defending those extremists.

Putting them in quotation marks doesn't make them any less true. And I don't remember claiming that they were.

I didn't make a single fucking demand you drama queen. How about luxury taxes on tampons? States that want to remove the right to abortions? Those aren't feminist issues that are valid?

The loudest are, yes. I'd even say 25% of them (which is pretty fucking high) are extremest. I'm not defending them.

I don't recall supporting that at all in my post. I am talking moderate, sane women who call themselves feminists.

Yes, it is a good wage, but not for a 4 year degree, which most teachers have.

What I said is statistically factual. I went out of my way to say that it wasn't due to discrimination, a lot of it has to do with career choice. What I am saying is, there are female dominated careers that are paid less than they deserve.

Yes, and it is often a 4 year degree to become one. My dad (who was a head caretaker) made $37 an hour, and I can tell you that was a lot lower stress and required less education.

So arguing that women in third world countries need help is wrong? Saying that tampons and pads shouldn't have a "luxury tax" is wrong? I am not defending extreme feminists, I'm defending the moderates.

I have a history of standing up for mens rights countless times, go through my post history if you like, I did quite a few in the Change My View subreddit.

I didn't say that we need more women in STEM fields... you aren't listening to me at all. I said that we undervalue many careers dominated by women. Not that women should be 50/50 represented in every career path.

I am not saying to appease those who scorn men for being male. I am saying there are plenty of feminists who have valid points, and DON'T scorn men. And as I said, it's an olive branch. Showing them that we don't view their issues as "footnotes" as you so dislike many of them doing to us.

I didn't say it was mens fault. I said it is an issue that mainly effects women. The undervaluing of career paths dominated by women does have a negative effect on women, and I think that teachers and nurses in particular on average should make more than they currently do.

Oh yeah, I clarified that what I think part of the gap is is that professions women usually go into (by choice) are paid less than male dominated fields (by choice).

Mainly in the US.

I personally think that the wage gap (although not caused by discrimination) does have some validity in terms of professions often chosen by women being undervalued in society. We've all heard how teachers, nurses, and social workers are paid shit, and those are all female dominated fields. I think that society does undervalue some very important lines of work that women excel in, and that we should demand that these professions get the respect, and pay, they deserve.

I'm a guy who just came across this sub, hope you don't mind my suggestion. If you want a physical gift and are not concerned about price, but the thoughtfulness of said gift, I think I have an idea that might get you what you want in a way that doesn't come off as scolding for lack of tangible gifts in the past, but as the start of a tradition of sorts... The next event that requires a gift exchange (Valentines day, anniversary, birthdays) You suggest starting a little tradition between the two…

This really doesn't seem to be in the spirit of the sub. She isn't using being female to get out of something, or as some sort of shield.

I think he kind of went personal too soon... I mean, he could have had a reasonable debate with her, but instead basically just called her a slut. Some people like tall, some people like short. Unless they are being rude about it I don't really see the issue.

Was it in a jokey way though? I'm always careful about taking comedians comments out of context.

If I ever have a girl ask me to do stuff like that, I'm going to say yes... after you send me an email/text specifically stating that that is what you asked for. I don't care if we are married, I'm getting that in writing.

Yeah, and I think r/the_donald actually showed mods that they can abuse their power as much as they want. Doesn't have to be against the rules, doesn't have to be hurtful, it just has to offend the mods a little, that's enough to get you banned now.

I watched the whole thing when it aired, love that episode. My dad watches judge Judy a lot, so whenever I visit I tend to see a few episodes here and there. I've only ever disagreed with her ONCE, and even then it was a grey area, I could see her point.
