The article is about a woman being forced into pregnancy. This is essentially the counter part of sperm jacking. So, yes, this is indeed a nonconsensual sexual act, or, rape

I think the real issue at hand is that we pulled out all of the studies from the main sub. I always felt that is was more interesting and open when we both read the same study and talked about the extrapolation of the data into the real world. It left little room for out of place feelings and confined the parameters of the conversation. Nowadays, if you post a video of one woman beating one man, it only riles up MRA's and brings no general sympathy for men as a whole or understanding. The reason…

This seems very fringe if you ask me. /r/feminism is not a fan of these people either. Every movement has crazies

I don't think so. I think they are there to empower themselves to better health and a better appearance. I understand it was a joke, but we shouldn't assume that women only do things to attract men. In the end, I agree with Peter

Well at least you have a fitting username. I believe you have the right to say and believe that but it doesn't advance any discussion or solve any issues. At least wait a while to say such things

Come on. Let's respect the dead in good fashion. She was a strong role model for many women across the world interested in leadership. Although at times she has said misandric quotes, I mourn her passing

Please cite the source before you are accused of making a straw feminist argument. It is unfair to write both sides of the debate even though it is a common sentiment

Thanks for the link. This proves that the cases are very different. He had already been in prison for 12 years and had more than 3 charges when this happened

These two cases are completely different. It seems from the report that this is the woman's first offense. The man however, had his sentence after his 3rd charge!! 3 strikes is not something I agree with but these are very different

discussion and debate are completely different ideas. Debate seems to be about winning over the mind of the audience or a judge. Discussion tends to inform people of the issues. I am all for open discussion instead of debate for now

I would really like to see the lecture as well. I really enjoy the long talks and speeches. Can anyone tell me where I can find the vast majority of these?

If my plan was to smear feminists, I would simply get these people to protest more. The greatest irony comes from the sign that the loud and passionate woman is holding; "my rights =\= your opression"

I disagree with you. Although people talk about the same thing, that is no reason to stop the movements. It is the same way with every group but they are necessary. For example, the legalization movement hasn't changed their complaints. However, they do cause reform which does help. Although both gender equality groups have the same grievances, they are both needed. I would rather have all the news stories and complaints moved to /r/mensrants to make room for plans of action and open letters. If…

That sub is about women who support the MRM. The topics are quite redundant on both sides but the difference is one feels we haven't done enough and the other feels completely ignored. I also feel that while MRA complain about the small group of radical feminists (not all feminists), feminists complain about all men

Do check out /r/LadyMRAs .i believe the issue with men not being figure heads of the feminist movement is the narrative that they present. I was personally denied access to a feminist group once but that is anecdotal. Many males are excluded from making decisions in the movement and are most commonly invited to join the marches against domestic violence against women; an event dedicated to how horrible their gender is. The MRM is not publicly represented by women because the movement has been po…

This was a fantastic video! Good find, OP. It's a real shame not everyone watched the whole thing because it was quite enlightening. It was nice to see a good argument for women to use logic instead of claiming false superiority. Although the comment at 2:15 did make me want to stop watching, it was phenomenal.

I don't find that condescending tone very thoughtful. I am not asking you to censor your thoughts because of my feelings but I ask you to reconsider. Most of the subscribers to such boards have equitable values and only shoot for equality. However, it is the moderators and the most verbal users that prevent good discussion by throwing the same idea around. Any and all thoughtful questions into their thought get banned or is met with harsh resentment. Back to my request. Try not to blame their ac…

Sorry forgot to mention something else but cant edit right now. I tried to join a feminist group once to help out my friends. They wouldn't let me join because I had been in prison. Here's the part that hurts me to this day. I opened up to them for the first time in public that I had been raped and the wrong doings in prison. The first thing they asked was "well did you do the crime you were in there for?" I told them I was and they all just kind of said that I deserved it. NOT TEN MINUTES LATER…

Minnesota. The woman assigned to us was just there because she had to be there. She was a radical feminist to say the least. Word on the vine was that she told the guys that were in there for rape that they had nothing left in life. Worst of all it was a detention center. Thus, the people there weren't even convicted yet

While in prison, I was denied access to the Rape Crisis center in the establishment that was set up by local feminists to help incarcerated women. One of the volunteers told me I was not allowed in because I might "rape someone". I was not given any extra psych visits to help cope. I was only allowed my 5 minutes a week and the professional told me that men can't be raped. The higher ups would not charge him unless I pointed him out in public. Since he is in a gang, I refused. They just said "we…

No I'm trying to say that it is important to keep both parties out of prison, especially the falsely accused. Prison time would not solve any problems for either party. However, it could serve as a valuable example to others.

But the problem with your argument is that I am turning my blind eye to those in detention centers for simply being accused but I simply didn't express my deep concern for the falsely accused. I am OUTRAGED when anyone gets put in prison for being accused. It is torture. While in prison I met someone who had been there since 2008 and his trial hadn't even happened!!! This was all because the prosecution wanted the "victim" to complete counseling. However, the "victim" decided to use the money sh…

Counseling outside of prison would address the deeper reasons for committing the crime.

No there would not be enough time in my life span to do so. I completely disagree with the laws regarding drug use as they encourage organized crime. However addicts of "harder" drugs should be treated for their addiction and prison would be completely inappropriate to treat their condition.

I can object to that entirely. Speaking from personal experience, counseling while in jail is the worst excuse for help. It is an attempt to cover their asses when you attempt to sue when you get out. Basically, they try to show all the "emotional support" they gave you. The problem at hand is that incarceration causes more problems than it solves. This applies especially to the insanely huge amount of men in overcrowded prisons. Every time I would go to counseling, they would give me five minut…

An upvote on one reply and a triumphant double challenge on another. Small world, isn't it? I am always disappointed to see the end of discussion on subs like this because it shows willful disregard for open debate. Still waiting for that person to deliver... I might just pm them..

I'm sorry, lord. My goal was not to patronize you in any way. I'm not a clever man and I certainly don't look over my comments for grammar mistakes. I was simply trying to coax some statistics about gender representation in what is considered "grunt work" out of you. Again, I'm sorry.

Although we tend to drool at the thought of "justice" jail time would not serve the common good. She would be at a greater risk to become a true victim of rape in prison and it would destroy her to not have anyone believe her. On the other hand, counseling may actually help her understand a possible victim complex. Although we can call this another "girl gets away with an easier sentence", I would be happier to know that she learned something about her self than see her rot because of something …

Although the feeling that equality isn't gained until both sides take each other's flaws, I challenge you to make a more intellectual argument. I don't worry that you will misrepresent the movement, I just hope that treating this movement like and academic and scholarly topic will give you more satisfaction in the long run

This was a good article. Although some language appeared argumentative, the idea was simply stating the under representation. A little off topic for this sub but it was nice to see that it didn't shift to blame men in a misandrist fashion (as seen on Jezebel)

Student of said school here. It wasn't a ban on yoga pants. It was a simple suggestion to females of the school to wear a top that is long enough to go past the hips. Although I did find it offensive that it was basically a "boys can't control their urges", I still see yoga pants and such all the time at school
