1	Roommate “lost a date” when she offered to split the check and he agreed It’s not a right or wrong thing. If you play it right you can go either way and still be successful. Paying is the safe bet. If you pay then she knows a bad date won’t be a cash sacrifice. If you split the check and pull off a good date then she knows going out with you won’t be a time waste. People that don’t show their hands are looking for something different than people who do. If you truly believe in open communication you really should tell them this when you’re out on a date. “Hey time our, dead serious here, I think we’re looking for different things.
