To me that's sounds more like lifestyle inflation than something to do with women. Most people will find it extremely hard to go back down in lifestyle because it's seen as "falling and hitting rock bottom" or getting a lower paid job when your previous job paid much higher. Doesn't really matter because a man with options has options to choose who they want be committed to. It still stands the same as a above average man still has far more options to choose who to marry

No, because a checklist of items should be a list of items you want. If someone fulfills your checklist, then it should be someone you want.
