You've got this exactly right. Anybody getting mad about this doesn't understand how medical therapy in the UK works. NICE also rejected a new deep brain stimulation therapy for Parkinson's disease because it was only 17% more effective than existing therapies (cut off is 20%). Sure, Americans are free to get this drug, but at least here in the UK we dont have to sell our blood to get insulin.

I work in healthcare in the UK, it's not that bad. The idea that the NHS is a crumbling mess being supported by nurses, doctors and AHPs working 70hr weeks is just not true. Shift patterns are cancerous, but doable. I used to date a primary school teacher too, again, not that bad. Gotta disagree with you there pal.

My father's first wife ran off with another man, and left my dad to raise 4 kids on his own. This was in the 1970s, every single one of them has grown up to have successful family lives of their own. No criminality, no mental illness, nothing. Growing up in a poor working class area.... I dont know how, but goes to show what a single father can do.

I guess it goes to show that the majority just care about income. Relationship dynamics are strange. As a guy, I dont about what my partner earns, but I'd prefer if her job wasnt too time consuming and that it showed caring (teacher, healthcare). Other way around, as long as I earn bank it doesnt matter that my job is boring (accountant, banker) or soul destroying (pharma rep, tech).

As a Crohns sufferer, does it not infuriate you that healthy people engage in activities that increase their risk of cancer? Overeating, high sugar, highly processed diets, and obesity itself all increase GI (as well as other) cancer risks. It's not society's fault they choose Big Macs over a stew and frozen veg.
