Wait so are the trans and non-binary contributors meant to be in proportion to overall US numbers too? They're unclear on that point.

Some benefit, sure. It would reduce rates of genital warts and possibly some (relatively rare) cancers. Reducing the number of potential carriers with mass vaccination also helps the whole population (women and men) somewhat. Whether vaccinating all men, just at-risk groups, or none is cost effective compared with other public health spending is not really clear-cut, and many countries are looking into it. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HPV_vaccines#Males

Not really, Scotland has its own independant legal system. Their definition of rape happens to be very close to that of England+Wales (and that of Northern Ireland), but they come from different acts passed by different parliaments in different years and are enforced by different courts.

Oh, and only subreddits that work out are acceptable? Just like only men who work out can be accepted as real men? Stop forcing your views onto others!

Trigger warning: words Remember, /r/TumblrInAction is a place to observe the tumblrite in its natural habitat without disturbing it; to point and laugh at galaxykin headmates, transethnics, thisispopularprivilege, I'm-asexual-but-still-want-to-have-sex, privilege checking and other assorted special snowflakery. It is not a place for activism, awareness raising or pro-/anti-anything. Be sure to leave the MRM at the door, take nothing seriously and don't touch the glass. Welcome. It's not my job t…

If it feels like it is, it is. That's how Poe's law works.

So extrapolating from surveys which find what percentage of people respond that they have been raped and of those how many reported, comparing these to crime figures and conviction rates is "made-up"; but a priori "assuming that women are just as likely to lie as men are to rape" and concluding that 50% of rape reports are false is a valid approach? Oh but we have a wikipedia link for a chart with official government statistics, it has to be true. Nevermind that it claims that rape was 397.5 tim…

Indeed, heart disease is often treated as a male issue. Cardiac arrest is treated as mainly a risk for men. On the other hand, women's health tends to be perceived disproportionately in terms of gendered issues like cervical or breast cancer which are rarer or non-existant in men. And by 'perceived' I refer to both public awareness and to funding for research and treatment. His comments didn't seem to be saying that though. Perhaps it's what the seminar was about and he misunderstood the focus.

I don't see a problem here, 15 years as a plea bargain seems in line with what others tend to be given for crimes of a similar nature and severity. The reporting was reasonable and showed no real gender bias, they didn't excuse her actions, they portrayed her as violent and remorseless and him as a victim of physical and emotional damage, with neither made with particular reference to gender. There may be some other coverage which is different, there may be an unreasonable appeal or parole which…
