I think playing hard to get with girls is a bad move, girls generally want to be wanted and your desire to have them is generally what makes them more interested in you, I think with guys is more trying not to seem too keen, you have to show your interest but you have to make sure you dont make it seem like your life revolves around her or similar.

First move has already been made by me, I'm not sure what number this move would be tbh. But you're right, I'd much rather make a move then have her be clear with me that shes seeing someone (although tbf she never mentioned him at all before), than hope she messages me and I lose any chance I may have had.
