Is your new girlfriend way better than your ex wife? It’s a very different relationship across the board. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/08/24 05:54 PM
How helpful should I be around the house?I kept the garden up until I was out…when I returned for final assets 9mo later the property had been completely grown over and our garden decimated. Other than personal “chop wood, carry water” benefits, it was all moot. It was always moot. | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/07/24 05:42 PM
Won a work tripIt’s gonna be an echo chamber in here…go enjoy the trip homie!!! You deserve it :) | /r/Divorce_Men | 14/02/24 06:24 PM
Just got back from dropping my kids off at my stbx place and I’m already bawling my eyes outSept will mark a year into this for me. I was fulltime on the kids when we split, so anything less than 100% of my time with them was a shock to the system…it’s still very difficult for me on my days alone. It’s different, a year in…but I still shed tears every day that they’re gone. All you can do is make each of your residential days with them as much fun for them and full of love as possible. You got this! | /r/Divorce_Men | 03/08/23 03:41 AM
Want divorce, wife breadwinner, what should I know?I was full time on kids and career on pause at the time of our split - she was always more of a breadwinner. Unfortunately it doesn’t pan out quite the same as if the roles were reversed, in what I’ve seen with others and experienced myself. She’s made me out to be a bum and thinks no support is due. So, crumbs and a rocky restart it is, and it is what it is. Def the short end of the stick while she smashes her face with cake. | /r/Divorce_Men | 20/05/23 08:51 PM
Conflict Management Advice“I feel most comfortable navigating these discussions with the help of our legal team - we’ll be able to do so soon, and until then it’s best for us to not discuss this matter ourselves.” | /r/Divorce_Men | 15/05/23 08:25 PM
unconscionableI rarely say my ex’s name - just, “my kids’ mom” or similar…at drop off today she asked that we give them the talk about selling the house (that I’ve been out of for the better part of a year while living with family) - I couldn’t even look at her. I hate all of this. I was devoted for 17.5yrs before she destroyed my life. I can’t stop crying these days. We’re near the end of the legal process and I feel worst than ever. I don’t know how I’m going to heal. | /r/Divorce_Men | 05/05/23 12:15 AM
How do you guys deal with the fact your ex-wives could pick anyone up in a week, but it might take you YEARS (or never)?got it…I’ve got two years to get my shit together ;) | /r/Divorce_Men | 12/04/23 09:05 PM
Divorce may be challenging, but co-parenting can be a nightmare.Yep. I realized not long ago that we are not co-parenting. If we were, she would communicate before making decisions that affect the kids and or me. She does not, and she will always do as she prefers to get what she wants for herself…so I take comfort in letting go of the idea of “co” parenting and leaning into what I am offered as a parallel parent. While continuing to advocate for better communication and respect. | /r/Divorce_Men | 21/01/23 05:19 PM
