Hey man. Newly divorced together 10 years or so. Divorce is war, war is hell. If you are divorcing then there is no intermingling, no friendly texts, no sex. You should really focus on yourself and what kind of man you want to mold yourself into. Remember in the cops show, when they say, you have the right to remain silent and anything can be used against you in a court of law? That's the same type of thing in divorce. Watch what you say and what you do even in the littlest of things, everything…

Yes! One more court date next Tuesday and I'll be rid of her for good. Divorce should be finalized any day now. I'm just sad she chose that life, I'm only 29 with a good job so I hope it will all come together with a good woman. Always scared it won't but God has me, can't worry too much.

Hey man, Just a guy that's a little farther along than you are. I want to let you know your feelings are valid. These will get better and get worse in time. I'm 6 months in, my divorce will be finalized at the end of this month. I still get heartbroken, sad, lonely, depressed. Not all the time but I still miss the IDEA of her and our future. That's the distinction, it's about realizing you are mourning like you would a deceased member of your family. You miss the good, but you don't remember the…

Yes I definitely could take legal action, but I'm not too worried about her threats, plus I always carry my weapon just in case. I'm just trying to get through this divorce amicably as possible.

Well I was threatened with gang violence and keeping my dog from me, that's why I saved it and still have it lol not that she would actually send a motorcycle gang after me but then again better to be safe than sorry. And it proves to the court that they aren't capable of being cordial, judges hate a lunatic or manipulators.

Oh yeah she definitely made the insults personal, with her and her sister calling me and basically making fun of me and telling me all kinds of things. Only good is I have all the calls recorded and ready to be sent to the lawyer just in case it gets bad.

When she was screaming at me that she didn't love me or want me anymore, I knew it was over but didn't stop loving her. It wasn't until we separated and I was actually happy (lonely with no one to talk too daily) but happy. She spent 30k of our settlement, all on herself, told me how I was lucky a girl as beautiful as her would even let me touch her and other horrible things. That's when I grew up and said you know what, I work my ass off, I'm a fairly good man, this isn't a me problem necessari…

That is a great idea, I am learning how to cook, I think it would be extremely helpful for future endeavors. I really appreciate the response.

Yes, thankfully being back in my hometown offers that. I'd say that's the best decision I've made since all of this happened was reaching out to my family and my two buddies. There has been a lot more support than I ever knew. Also I keep myself busy by helping my friends and family so the days fly by and I'm not dwelling on what was, or what is.

Dang brother, yeah getting used to the new normal is a hard pill to swallow. I was married for about ten years, it's not finalized but will be by the first of February at the latest. Hang in there, it's all we can do.

I really should, just don't have the drive and motivation at the moment. Almost like I'm not letting myself feel happiness. It may be a self deprecating thing which I've been struggling with since childhood.

I am basically in the same boat just without children. I did everything to try to save my marriage and in the end its ending the same way. It takes two to tango, so if you are trying and she doesn't want the marriage anymore there is nothing else to be said or done. Getting out faster and going to counseling for yourself will help with the process. Do I still have unbearable days? Of course, I love her to the deepest pita of my soul, but I realize that if she doesn't feel the same (won't try, ig…

My wife has cammed, ran off with a girl, gotten a stripper pole...ect ect.... There may be another person, to be honest I hope I never know. If there is then I just hope she would sign and let's get on with life. I love her deeply but ruining me financially, stealing the lying isn't worth staying with her. I just wish her the best and want to be done with this chapter so I can begin to heal. I'm still doing what I need to, counseling, classes, I've gotten 100% sober, I'm trying to be the best pe…

I'm in the middle of it, and I understand and agree with every comment so far. Just wanted to ask, I been separated for a month and we don't talk anymore. Loosing that person that you always had to talk too, what do you do to fill that void? Yes hobbies are great but I work on the road and at night, I try walking when I can but am often so tired and sore it's extremely difficult for me to do. As on the weekends I do better but during the week I mainly just try to sleep and keep my mind off it.

Definitely, I'm probably looking to get in a situation like that after my divorce. I just want a family irregardless of there actually mine. Don't have my own and to the age it probably won't happen for me. I'm only 28 but still

I feel you man, I was sexually abused as a teenager, serious mentally damaged. I went on to kind of feel normal but never sexually, I couldn't get it up and crap, so nervous and didn't ever want to make the girl I was dating or whatever uncomfortable so I didn't necessarily care about sex. It wasn't until I met my wife that she filled me with confidence and I had a great sex life, feeling confident and secure. That was shattered when I found out she had been camming online and now I'm separated,…

Btw the 5k is for contested divorce, and that's starting out

Ah sorry didn't read all of it as I was in a rush, and I would have you and the lawyer draft up a document saying you will pay her X for whatever and it's agreed to by both parties. Probably have to get it notarized with a witness (not your ex) a friend or someone who loves you with you. That should work but as always ask the lawyer in your initial consultation! Best of luck and God bless.
/r/Divorce_Men28/08/25 12:56 AM

So get a lawyer, probably $2500 USD if uncontested with no kids, they will file and as long as she signs it can be completed in around 45 days. Just went through the same deal.

I appreciate that response and will read that a thousand times. Thank you man.

Yeah it's definitely better than contested, that starts at $5500 minimum and doesn't include anything really. $350 an hour plus mediation and all that jazz so I'm sure it would get up in the 10k+ fast

Yes I'm am both, separated and talking to the lawyer to start the divorce tomorrow

That's the best thing to do, get a lawyer that has your best interest in mind. I'm in the same boat, do what you need to cover yourself. Remember this is not your wife, best friend or someone who loves you, this is a war and it's best to have people on your side.

I really appreciate the insight and will definitely read this over and over when things get hard and I feel I'm slipping. Your freaking awesome and I really need to be told these things and learn from wiser people who've been through this. Thank you, thank you, thank you. God bless
